First off as always, I'm stoked to hear what you think of this mic! But also, holy cow how do people frame themselves when filming with the iPhone rear camera?! Apologies for the framing of some of those shots. That's tricky!
If you have an Apple Watch you can use that as a monitor if you’re using the native app or filmic pro. I’m sure there are other apps that support this as well.
Looks like a good product for traveling and using a smartphone for creation. Even without the dead cat it seemed to handle the wind pretty well. Good price point for what you are getting. Thanks for the review.
The Hollyland Lark M2 blows away both the DJI and the RODE especially in sound quality, back in the day RODE was the new great thing but now its just not well made and sounds worse. DJI is good but not great and overpriced, SYNCO G2 (A2) much better choice than that for sure. But the lark M2 at 115.00 EBAY for a complete system with awesome sound quality ,noise cancellation is a no brainer If 32 bit float is needed then use the zoom F2-BT connected out of the Lark M2 receiver, it works great. I use the Lark M2 connected to the F2-BT and then connected to my Lumix S5IIX for complete control with a backup and still having the ability to use different shotgun mics. I have owned all and tested all of the above.
Would be great to get an audio test between this and the new DJI Mic Mini. Rode always seemed superior to DJI in audio, but the Mini being smaller is very attractive.
Think they are really cool! I will not totally replace my Røde Wireless Pro with this, and not my DJI Mic2 that came with the OSMO Pocket 3 or the extra (white) DJI Mic2 that I bought for talents with white skirts. But, this could be really handy for some of my stuff. But maybe the white one is more useful? Or?
6 hours per mic x additional 2 charges x 2 mics = 36 hours total recording time if you're out solo, at time stamp 3:30 ish. That would be the right calculation?
Just received mine, and the audio quality is fantastic-slightly better than my Lark M2. However, I'm disappointed that there's no way to update the firmware without a USB-C phone. Additionally, there's no option to purchase the Lightning connector separately, unlike the Lark M2. Another downside is that the case doesn’t connect to Rode Central. While I’ll be keeping them, I think these limitations are a significant oversight by Rode.
Does someone else get the feeling that it sounds like the audio going through the Rode Micro sounds like a Zoom Call audio? or maybe like the sound is going through a laser beam first, hard to explain. Everything sounds like a wah wah pedal.
No internal recording backup track for the transmitter? Take the L Rode. You've proven that DJI has the superior product that you tried to replicate but failed to do so.
I don’t think this is meant to compete with the DJI Mics, their wireless pro seems to be that competitor. This seems to be more in line with Hollyland and Comica's compact smartphone mics. Neither of those have internal recording either. It would’ve been better if they have had passed through charging in the receiver, some type of active noise, cancellation option, although it does sound like there is some based on this test and the waves being muted, an on off switch on the transmitters, and I’m not sure if there’s playback sound while the receiver is still plugged in. That’s a must these days and super annoying when Mics don’t have that functionality. Lastly a mic jack would’ve been great for Lav Mics, but almost all of the smart phone mikes don’t have that, I’ve seen a couple but it’s rare. I think the Hohem has it, but I’m guessing the Ride sound is superior, so there’s that trade-off. (apologies in advance for any typos. I'm using voice to text.)

do a test shot and mark the spot in the sand. OR you can use a Cardboard cutout like we have lmao!!!
Great video. Very helpful. May I ask what settings you were using on the Blackmagic Camera app, please?
No problem! Could use a gimbal with AI-tracking that automatically frames you etc. :)
Apple NEEDS to put AUDIO BARS in the camera APP while RECORDING VIDEO Button

Oh dear! Another mic release
But this time, TINY!
Good for the price, but I'll stick with my Dji mic 2 it's far more customisable .. but then again it should be at nearly double the price of the Rode
I’m new to mics but isn’t that like comparing apples and oranges?
Hmmmm, I wonder this or Hollyland Lark M2

Lark M2 is a beast and the only micro mic, others need to remove micro from their name 😅.
No it doesn’t

Do these connect to Gopro?
I think your audio was good and almost great for $150. I do like how you filmed it on the beach!
Great piece of tech! Can this directly connect via bluetooth with any of the major action cameras without the receiver?
I bought this last week, Because i love Rode mics is the BEST , but they are super Pricy for a college kid , this one will do & is GREAT🙌🤘

Great video. how does it compare with the DJI Mic 2 which can be used as transmitter only for $99? trying to buy one during black Friday lol
Great video I would probably end up losing that windscreen because like you said it doesn’t fit in the case
So weird too, because Rode are the ones that first made their cases fit the dead cats!
is it chance we get video about a audio comparison between rode wireless micro and old version wireless go , please
I’m on the market for a mic set, please do a comparison video with these little mics 🙏….. also will the rode micro hook up to an ace pro?
Do you know if you can hook up an adapter from usb-c to 1/8" to plug the receiver into a proper camera?
Hey man, why the black magic app? When it’s inserted into the phone, won’t it record in the normal camera app?
Can you run them both at the same time instead of Split channel?
Yep, you can run them merged or split channel
@@DavidManningvlog forgot to ask, Do you happen to know if it would work for Action Cam like the Ace Pro 2?
Hi Dave 🙋🏻♂️
can you use the native iphone camera app or do you need to switch to black magic?
Can you plug this into the GoPro Hero 12 and up to see if it works with that?
No it wont work with gopro but will work on dji osmo action 4/5
@@DJEM210 Thanks for the confirmation! I went and bought the DJI Mic Mini instead and works great!

What sunglasses are you rocking? They look like they have a camera. 😎
How did tou calculate those 72 hours? Its 6h per charge and can offer 2 charges + 1 of the transmitter. So, 36h totally.
Yeah, u r right
That's very cool.
I know they don’t advertise active noise cancellation, but it definitely sounds like there is some. The waves are canceled to some degree. Thoughts?
Sorry, you Are way off My friend ..... 7 hours batteri, and 2 re-chargers with case, total 21 hours! 👍🔋
You are only counting 1 mic. It’s 6 or so hours PER mic. So if you use them separately, that’s double. The kit comes with 2 mics
@willpate7257 then it's 42....🙃😜👍
Nice

I’ll stick to my Lark mic
Honestly, the new Ulanzi A30 is half the price and sounds much better
sound from this Rode is really crap
