As a retired teacher, I love your enthusiastic way of coaching. It shows that you love what you do. You mentioned that when playing, the shot you give, determines what your next move should be. I would like to know more about this in different scenarios.
This video couldn’t have come at a better time! I’m just getting into competitive doubles and have obviously been doing all of the points addressed incorrectly! Time to get them built into my muscle memory!! 😎🎾💪🏻
Your articulation of these various court dynamics is very clear, strategic and enthusiastic. I could actually watch your videos a few times to let it really sink into my muscle memory and understanding of movement across the court. Your passion for doubles play and teaching is energizing. Thank you!
thanks Ryan! These are great tips and the magnets and diagram really helped me to visualize what to do. I cannot wait to use it in a match and see if it makes a difference. I have a good feeling that it will!!
@@2MinuteTennis can’t thank you enough. They had never considered movement patterns until today and I watched these before I was asked to work with them as they are new to tennis and now playing challenge matches. We spent 2 of the most productive hours at the courts on their off practice day. Even just having a discussion with them the lightbulb was going off.
@@DrJ311 john that’s amazing!! So I do zoom lessons with players around the world. Both on strokes but also strategy. If you film them playing doubles and send me the video we can schedule a live zoom lesson where I teach them (and the parents) what they’re doing well strategically and what they can improve. I do 11 zoom lessons per week and about 4 of them are strategy sessions. Here’s my email. ryan@2minutetennis.net. Send me an email and we can discuss. Thanks for commenting !
Great video and tips. Liked the enthusiasm and use of the tennis court board to illustrate the recommended techniques. Looking forward to trying them out on the court!
All I can say is thank you. I get a lot of anxiety playing comp and most times don't know where to stand. So far, this video has helped me to become a more intelligent player.
I’m so glad this video is helping you! Here’s a really popular video that has a few more strategies in it. Thanks!! th-cam.com/video/g9RZnnApDi8/w-d-xo.html
I do not comment usually but this guy is very good and deserves it. I'm being a subscriber from a while now and I have appreciated the technical value of the contents, the great communication skills and the genuine passion he puts in the videos. Thank you Ryan!
Thanks Tara. If you haven’t seen this yet, here’s another popular video I made a while back that has more tips: th-cam.com/video/g9RZnnApDi8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OpFsvUNJGnBTzAE-
That last tip is gold dust! I've lost count of the amount of times the person who runs back plays a weak ball to the opposing volleyer and they smash it at the net player who just switched. Great video 👍👍
Such an informative video. This is soooo interesting and helpful. Of course, 80 % of the time I am invested in not screwing up my groundstrokes but if there are braincells left to use I will try everything you explained. It all makes so much sense. I used to say that I hate playing doubles but the main reason for that was that I never knew what to do and I was usually the guy with the neck workout. Thank you for taking your time and delivering such great content all the time.
Put some tips finally into practice this week and couldn’t believe how consistent we were , just by aiming and moving better, we were comfortable winners, great video!
Good question. In my experience there are a dozen different shots they might hit in this situations. But, the goal isn’t to be ready for all of them. If you’re in the box and are lobbed you lose the point often. The goal is to figure out how to be right more often than not. And both being on the service line (toes on the service line) will have you right more than any other positioning. Thanks!!
Thanks you so much Bryan!!! I just won my USTA match. I used your tips and strategy’s. Your the best teacher, I’m so grateful I stumbled on your channel. Keep up the AMAZING teaching, your the best❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great Video Ryan. After not playing competitive tennis for a couple years it’s all about getting back to the basics, thanks for the reminders. Now for practice, practice, practice!

Thanks Ryan as a newbie doubles player this is Golden. Only thing missed was in your last tip on switching sides of the court to no man's land You forgot to mention where you move to from there depending on your partners return. 😊
This is probably my 20th time watching this video. I want to get these double strategies drilled in my head.
