Today in the United States we are celebrating Thanksgiving. We focus and thank the many gifts that God has given us throughout the year. Wishing everyone in this community a gracious Thanksgiving. 11/28/2024.
Father, may everything that I do this day, whether it be full of joy or pain, whether it be full of love or of grief, I ask that everything I go through today be offered to you just like Jesus offered everything to you. It is in his name we pray. Amen. 11/28/2024
I ran from God 2 weeks ago and did something that put me in the hospital for 2 weeks. I feel it's going to take a long time to get back to where I was. I was in a dark place and can feel it hovering around my conscience even though I feel better. Please pray for me 🙏
Hi bonniec1765, I saw your prayer request 5 months after. I hope the prayers of this community has pulled you through your dark place and continues into the Light. Through God, you are always loved. 11/29/2023
Great credit to the prelates who are courageous today by calling out politicians who allege they are Catholic yet condone abortion. So many prayers for these men.
Today's readings are a reminder of the Ten Commandments which God gave us to follow, plain and simple. Following them each and every day is a challenge because we are sinners. Holy Spirit help us and protect us each and every day.
My favorite part of True Grit, the 2010 remake, is when Proverbs 28:1 is shown on the screen: "The wicked flee when no man pursueth." I've been waiting for us to get to this section of Proverbs, and am glad we did today. 👼
A couple of people down below have corrected your recollection of the Flintstones, it was the cat not Dino, oh happy days, just makes me laugh, at least they were paying attention! Yabba dabba doo🦖
All of you people watching this please pray for a friend of mine her words exactly “I don't know if non-believer is the right word, I'm not affiliated with any particular religion, I'm probably agnostic right now, I do find value in the psychospiritual, maybe to say I'm questioning is more accurate.”
I was born and raised Catholic. At age 39 I went through a divorce, and eventually remarried a Christian man that is Baptist. After remarrying I fell away from Catholicism, and haven’t gone to a Catholic Church for 23 yrs. I am presently being pulled back to my catholic faith, but I am struggling with one obstacle and maybe some of you can help me with it. I do not understand why Pope Francis approves of the blessing of same sex marriages. Todays reading really amplified my confusion.
He never approved the blessing of immoral relationships. Last month he pointed out the blessings were "not for the union, but simply the people", in other words that they may grow in holiness. It's the same as blessing people having trouble with other sins. His words are often twisted by reports that are more interested in getting attention than accuracy. I hope this helps!
@@WeatherWonders God bless you and thank you for responding. Tomorrow I plan to go to my first mass in 23 yrs. I thought it ironic that someone finally responded just the day before.
As my mother told me many many times, Bible applies to I, me, and myself only. Look inwardly and hold myself accountable only. By her grace, I get to know Christ.
December 1, 2023 When the Catechism is complete (or maybe even now), consider listening to Saint Faustina’s Diary in a year and/or EWTN Mother Angelica’s Classics to add to your Catholic learning! Oh my goodness so much life guidance in conjunction with Father Mike’s Bible and Catechism in a Year!!!!
I'm here for day 333! I still can't believe I'm here. I started so late in the game. I feel like I'm dreaming the impossible dream. Much thanks Padre Mike!!!
I can't believe you caught up! Good job! I'm only here because I skipped 200 days 😩 -- I was just too anxious to hear my man Paul. I'll just keep plugging along at the Old Testament as well.
@@annette4660if I were you I would've skipped ahead to Paul as well. I'm fan of Paul also. Besides it's probably best to finish the year with the New Testament. Keep on doing what you're doing. Throw a message when you finish. Enjoy your journey through the Scripture.
We were bought with a price, that says it all for me, thank God for Jesus. " You will never see the preciousness of a Saviour, if you do not see the reality of your sin" Kevin Deyoung
As I listen to St. Paul, I wonder why some of our political leaders who claim to be Catholic are creating laws allowing abortion, some of these laws allow abortion up to birth. Why are they not excommunicated? Why are the priests who deny them communion being chastised? It’s very confusing sometimes where our Catholic faith is heading…… I wonder why our church leaders do not take a stand to defend our faith more vigorously, they way Saint Paul would have done it……
Thank you Father Mike for sharing the bible with all of us. It is a true blessing to hear and understand the words of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Praying for Father Mike and anyone who is in need of prayers.
Agape Love from our LORD 🙏🏾 “Avoid immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the immoral person sins against his own body.” 1 Corinthians 6:18

Thank you Fr Mike, I listened to the end which I should have done before my first comment. It is our sins, that this reading is about. And yes, Confession is a blessing from God to unload our burdens of sin. My many sins and going forward we have confession and to sin no more.

December 1, 2023 Do you have just a moment in time to pray for Souls in Purgatory with me? According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great, was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home, and in my family. Amen. In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20)
Thank you father Mike for your explanations today. A good self reflection for us to, "Glorify God in your body because you are not your own, and were purchased, at a price."
One of those days where this is exactly the message I need to hear, the only message I need to hear right now. Down almost to the hour. Incredible. Glory to God.
Thank you dear Lord for Fr Mike reminding us of our brokenness because of our sins. Give us dear Lord a contrite heart to repent of our sins and help us make our body as temple of your Holy Spirit. Amen. Please hear and answer dear Lord my prayer for the people I am praying for specially my husband and daughter. Amen.
Thank you so much Fr Mike......we belong to the Father❤️what love he has for us❤️keep us true to you ❤️ Praying for you and everyone here. God bless🙏❤️🙏
"You are not your own. You were bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body." Jesus laid his life so we can be sanctified, washed from original sin. His love for us conquered sin and death. We don't have to take the road of shame as our Lord has paid the price of our eternal happiness with ABBA our Father.
I feel accomplished and I made it to 333. Started my first episode on 30/6 on YT and stopped for quite sometime and then I came back with the spirit to catch up with the podcast! It was mind blowing. Thank You, Lord for walking with me throughout this journey! Thank you, Father Mike, AP and his team! 🙏
We wonder why Peter was rescued but James was killed by Herod. I got some understanding of this, Father Mike, when you did the verses of the potter and the clay. I've heard the parable before, but for some reason, I finally understood that we are God's property- bought and paid for. It difficult to understand why bad things happen to good people-but those good people belong to God- not me. Somehow, for me at least, it makes it easier to accept.
It reminded me of Our Lady of Kibeho. She foretold the genocide 13 years earlier to 3 visionaries girls. 2 survived the genocide and one was killed. Sometimes God takes you home before you get influenced and sin. Of course that is how I reconcile it. I also thought about it when dr Nabeel Quarashi died so young

How does the pope saying common-law heterosexual and homosexual couples should also be approved as Christian disciples worthy of Communion gel with ANY of the words of Day 333 (most importantly, the actual Scriptures read)???
This is not what the Pope said. The Church cannot approve or bless sin. However, the Church can bless sinners, which is all of us, and accompany us pastorally, like a good shepherd, as we struggle to better conform our lives to the teachings of Christ. This applies to those who sincerely want to live a Christian life, not those who are unrepentant and want approval for their sinful lifestyle, which the Church cannot give. This has all been made abundantly clear in a magisterial document, Fiducia Supplicans, which the media and some clergy continually distort and misinterpret. If you read the document yourself, it's very easy to understand and very clear.
