    Thank you Bishop Barron. I was an atheist and I never thought I would darken the door of a curch. I found you and listened to your perspective. It brought me to Jesus, and now I'm in the rcia program at my local parish. Thank you.

      Amen my friend. I started listening to Bishop Barron when I was an atheist, and now I am a Christian. Listening to his videos got my foot in the door to learning more about the Lord Jesus and the life of the church, and then the Holy Spirit took it from there. Bishop Barron is such a blessing.

    Brought tears to my eyes.
    My wife abandoned my 20 years ago. I tried remarriage, it failed. It’s like I was walking through a depressed haze, that was my life. I also was a Protestant Evangelist preaching a hope that I didn’t possess but had faith God would one day give.
    In a random experience, I attended my first Mass around 2018. I literally cried during the Mass.
    I was Confirmed into the Church in 2020, but I still desired that intimacy and fellowship I expected to get from a marriage.
    But recently, God has shown His great love in a intimacy only God is capable of giving, greater than any spouse ever could.
    You’re all over this today Bishop, and your words at the very end made me know it.
    Fall in love with Christ
    Stay in love with Christ
    Find fellowship with Him.

      Not trying to disrupt your walk with God but I have to speak up on a matter that is close to my own heart also. It's such a personal thing that can't be blurted out. I suggest you study the works of the nicolaitans as its mentioned in book of Revelation as a thing which Jesus hates. It's a pagan way of worshiping the greek and roman gods (with a small g that is)...it's also called the dionysian mysteries or the elusinian mysteries. Im not saying what your experiancing is not of God but beware the demonic realms are incredibly real in today's age. I will pray for you brother in Christ.

    So lovely to see you back Bishop Barron. Pelagianism is how I lived most of my life. It sounded so like the right way to live, but eventually I could not keep the pretence of 'happy and successful life' up. There was a deep-seated sorrow within me that just would not go away. I found myself on my knees, crying my heart out to God, asking him to please help me ... and that is when the most amazing change started to happen. "Go where He is, and stay there. Accept Him. Move into fellowship with His son." Bishop Robert Barron. Thank you 🙏. I love your new space BTW 😌.

    Growing up in a very dysfunctional family which has especially reared its ugly head in the twilight years, due a brother having had a very severe addiction, I was just this very morning asking the dear Lord, "How does my heart heal from all the heartache?" And then I heard this. What a beautiful sermon, Bishop Barron. It is an answer to my prayer. I hope others will hear this message that also need such healing. God bless you, dear sir for being so filled with the Holy Spirit. ❤ 🙏

    I’m 37 and just starting to realize that in almost anything reading the same book, practicing the same sport, watching the same movie, the more times you do it the more you begin to see things that weren’t there before and that includes the mass! Totally viewing things differently and it’s amazing!

    I would add to Bishop Robert’s life giving teaching…Find fellowship also with other committed, Scriptue and Worship focused Catholics. Be supported, uplifted, challenged by your Brothers and Sisters in Jesus. We are the Body of Christ. We need one another. We need to be nourished by others in addition to our Celebration of the Eucharist. Trish Australia.

    Dear Bishop Barron, I want to thank you for your Sunday reflection. I am in agreement that we need Christ as our savior and that is the beauty of celebrating this reason of Advent. We are definitely captive without him and fellowship also allows us to be co-workers with Christ immersing ourselves into His grace in drawing ourselves out of disfunction, sinfulness, and our own selfish desires and motives. It is all about Jesus!

    Wow! That's a powerful image, the one of the family across the street. This was exactly my expreience, growing up. My birth family was deeply unhappy and divided, with emotional and physical violence part of 'normal' life. I had a girlfriend when I was 16 and her family couldn't have been more different. I longed for them to adopt me as one of them and give me a home. Thankfully, my early schooling was Catholic, which eventually helped me find my way to my true home, where Love prevails.

      @NUKE.2024 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kevinkelly2162 The first Testament is replete with personalities who 'prefigure' the coming Messiah. Moses / Hezekiah / David, etc are previews of the coming Messiah; they are 'types' of Jesus. Moses leads the people from slavery in Eqypt; Jesus leads us all from the slavery of our sin.

    • @kevinkelly2162
      @kevinkelly2162 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or the people that wrote the NT had access to the OT and made up the story to fit with the OT. The Emmanuel story is at face value about a child that was born long before Jesus was. And Moses is an adaption of stories that were doing the rounds in the ME at that time. He was not the first baby to be put in a basket and found by a princess. Also there are no records in Egypt about there ever have been an Israeli population staying there, slaves or free.But then again the Egyptians have no record of a flood either. These things might sound good to believers but a good look at the literature of the time will show the books of Moses are just local myths adapted to suit the Israeli narrative. The Bible is a facinating book but should not be read literally.@@NUKE.2024

    Wow. It figures I would click on this. I’m an addict so I know your analogy well. We need a power greater than ourselves. ❤

    Thank you, Bishop Barron. What a wonderful anology of the dysfuncitonal family and the Graced family across the street whose father knocks upon our door. Be well, Bishop Barron.

    Bishop Barron, your ending words......Fall in love with Jesus and stay in fellowship with Him are profound, yet simple. Really going to that place for me gives feelings of groundedness, inner peace and humbleness....as though I am sitting in God's light. In today's world of chaos with war, divisiveness in the Catholic Church, political power punches, etc. it's more challenging at times to filter out the world's turmoil so as to truly get to that place of fellowship with our Heavenly Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Sometimes prayer life doesn't yield the depth I seek but I continue. You and your messages help to guide.

    Thank you Bishop Barron. It made me ponder what is it about me that I can change for Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Jesus is the reason for the season as they say.
