  • Lost signal while flying my Freewing Twin 64mm A-10. I flew it two times that day before this flight, and it went well. Unfortunately, the third time was not the charm.

    Rage will that stunk, one of the best mess of a crash site I've seen for a foam plane, Zoom zoom Boom, Jeff in LA USA

      I was actually impressed at the destruction at the crash site! Haha

    Sorry for your loss...it always sucks loosing a plane, especially when it seems out of your control. 😥
    That Admiral RX looks like a rebranded Lemon RX. I've had pretty good luck with the Lemon RX I've used. I have one in my Flightline OV-10 and it seems fine. The OV-10 has wiring everywhere and I wanted to make sure the signal didn't get messed up, so I do take care in positioning the dual antennas by-directional and tape them in place.
    At my field when a plane goes down due to signal loss, the Futaba guys go..."Must be a Spektrum!" 👿

      @RaGeRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, this A-10 doesn't have a lot of space in the canopy. There's nowhere to put the receiver, really. Most like had inference from the battery wires.
      The admiral receivers do look very similar to the lemon ones. I have one of those as well. It's funny, though, because I had that admiral receiver in a flight test spitfire plane I have and never had a problem with it.

    Hey my condolences for your A10 :( but that confirms my suspicion, I only fly spectrum receivers, then I used Admiral once and after a few flights the signal kept dropping until I lost my new plane. That's why I don't save 20 dollars on something like that It's not worth it with such expensive planes.

    Ouch...I feel your pain. Using a failsafe could of helped ...other then that admiral hurt my 150 Cessna too. Spectrum 😉

    Dam Rube sorry to see. Good excuse to by another. Seems like you got some spare parts. Ive been thinking of buying some admirals but not now. See you at the field.

      Yeah Bob it's crazy because that was the receiver I had in the flight test Spitfire and I never had a problem with it in that plane.

    Im cracking up, im trying to find a 44kv per lb power plant for my j3 cub so its a more realistic power to weight ratio and you think a 3700kv motoe on a twenty oz plane is underpowered lol its awesome the range of ways to enjoy this hobby, condolences on the loss for sure man tough break

    I have never had an issue with the admiral gyro receiver. The gyro works well and never lose a signal. Probably your one is a bad batch. It pays off to do initial range check on a new model eventhough your receiver is an old one. It looks like your admiral receiver can use satelite too, I would definitely use it for a signal loss redundancy and piece of mind.

    Sorry to see that happen buddy... It's a shame they know these receivers have signal loss issues, but still selling them. If anything goes nasty on a flight. The receiver is most likely gonna survive. Buy some Spectrum AR receivers. They are good investments for your hobby.

    • @RaGeRC
      @RaGeRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I mostly use AR recievers. I just gambled on using this one till I got one in. Unfortunately the gamble didn't pay off haha

    I had a spektrum receiver that was responsible for 3 different model complete losses before I figured out it was the problem

  • @ltfadl1
    @ltfadl1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Shoot, that sounded horrible. Man, those admirals are just rebranded lemon rx systems from what I can tell. Go FrSky, the new Access system is sweet and priced very well. I've swapped over from Spektrum and Radiolink, but I can still use all of my old RXs units. All new planes are getting FrSky RX.
    I'm so sorry for the loss, I actually did a moment of silence at the end of the video, bro. 🤗I hate losing planes, especially when I'm not the cause.
