So.... I am a Hospice nurse. I have been watching these videos for some time now, as I am frustrated with the medical field, and am just ready to simplify and live my life. The only thing stopping me....is me. Im afraid to leave my comfort zone, regardless of how miserable I am. I have no family, except my son, and he is all grown up. I do have two dogs big dogs, that would have to be my companion, as I am afraid of my own shadow, and I love them so much. With each video I watch, especially the women, it makes me want to hand in my resignation tomorrow, and just go for it. The freedom one must feel.
Autumn: Outfit your vehicle for a 5 day camping trip, and one thing will lead to another. That’s how I hung up my RN shingle and hit the road full time. Never again will I get yelled at by a doctor, or have a patient swing at me, or fill out reams of insurance papers! I may be broke, but it’s on MY time! :)

Do a few part-time car camping trips 3 days see how you feel. Do it with what you have if possible but ensure your set up for a bed is good. You would be better doing agency work at the hospice if possible and picking your shifts. Don't avoid trying car camping out forever as life is too short. I part-time car camp around work. Started with just tent camping with basics and then went into a small tiny Cheverlot Spark. From then I have not looked back. I love car camping. You do everything on your terms, I love parking up and doing a hike and coming back in my set up to relax. I have got more gear as I have gone along but have made some silly purchases. So just try things out first. You will love it. 🇬🇧 solo female car camper 👍🏿

Just a tip, the porta potty blade should be open while you use it, the waste goes straight into the holding tank, then spray with water and close. If the blade is closed while in use waste will be dragged back into the seal when you open it which will cause it to smell.
I love, the way she's putting seasonal clothes in pillow cases, and it looks prettier than putting clothes in boxes, and I'm also trying to be minimalistic in a 1 bed apartment, but I could really live in a studio with separate bathroom and kitchen.Hello from a Swedish woman, livin in England, UK

The shelves as a bed platform is genius and saves on weight which saves on gas… love it! The gutter covers for ventilation 😳sis whaaaat?!?! Yes! Brilliant! It’s like those you can buy for your front windows but WAY better… unless it starts raining, cause the other ones have shields lol. Thank you for the tour ladies, that was great.

Then I want to park it on my own land and have water come in to the land and I don't need outside electricity and then I would have my land available for people like you that want to come and as you are passing through to have a place to sleep for the night and possibly an outdoor shower where there is not a lot of traffic it's just for TH-camrs I think I can do it what do you think?
I love a soft bed. It’s like a cocoon Yours is the highest bed (9 inches of foam) I’ve seen. Thanks for showing that it’s possible to do! I love wet bags too!! Nothings says love like TP and clean underwear. Your cushions to level your bed is absolutely genius!!! That’s a first!
I am 55...but still hv a 12 yr old daughter at school...but I dream of hitting the road some day....this is just what I am thinking of. Not a huge costly van and conversion...just brilliant ideas. What a very Smart Lady.
I am wondering why the bottom shelf at the floor was kept for the bed? It takes up a little extra space that could be used. Would it unstable if you don't use the two shelves? I like this bed idea.

I actually laughed out load - mostly at the innovative dishwashing liquid. Never tried spraying MY dish soap in my mouth. 😂😂😂

I know its not all sunshine and roses on the road but I hear more positives than negatives from people and I think at this stage in my life I deserve to have some freedom and adventure!

This is the life I want to live one day. I have young kids so it would be a bit complicated to do right now but when they grow up it's off on the road I go. It seems like such a liberating lifestyle. Theres always something exciting and it breaks away from the drab same day to day schedule of working, sleeping, and repeat. I've been feeling so bored in my life with serious cabin fever stuck in the same house doing the same thing. I can't wait to have a sense of excitement in my life and travel wherever I want when I want. Till then I will stay humble good things happen when they are meant to happen.
Same here. My daughter is 8. I think I’m going to buy a van and do it on long weekends and vacations. After she finishes school i will buy one of those nice vans. I’m always watching these videos

So I had to start ALL over again!! Diapers and no sleeping at night... you know what I mean... so, after 40 years of talking care of kids, now I get to take care of me. Keep that idea on your dream board, you won't need to wait 40 years to drive to the sunset... and keep dreaming, that way, when the time comes, you will enjoy it twice as much or more! I'm new to #vanlife, and I don't actually have a van, but a short school bus, but prior to purchasing Wanda (my bus), I watched thousands of videos on vanlife, skoolielife, etc.....and some would say, "why are you watching a video about a van tour when you have a bus?" exactly for this reason: everyone knows something.....nobody knows everything, but everyone knows something. I LOVE the gutter-guard idea and will use that for Wanda....awesome tip! I use vinegar in a spritz bottle only because, duh, I didn't think to use vodka! So smart! and I literally laughed out loud when she said you can spritz some in your mouth whilst doing the dishes (or dish) haha. Great tips and advice....thank you both for sharing. P.S. I realize you posted this video months ago, but I've just recently found you on YT (and subscribed of course).

I love this mini van set up. Especially love that she can get to everything without leaving the van. That alone would probably make me hate van life, if I had to feel self-conscious about going outside to the back of the van to cook or find things several times a day. This is perfect. What type of van is it that's big enough to sleep sideways ?
I always was surprised that almost nobody used real suitcases in the van, in case they actually want to go on a flight someday. Good for you for having suitcases. 👍♥️

Do what u can to make money now. The cost of living is astronomical. A war with Russia or China is looming. Go camping but keep your job.

I love this mini van set up. Especially love that she can get to everything without leaving the van. That alone would probably make me hate van life, if I had to feel self-conscious about going outside to the back of the van to cook or find things several times a day. This is perfect. What type of van is it that's big enough to sleep sideways ?

@@travelsnacks I thought of that but, since it is in a spray bottle, way back there, no labels, no original bottle... and since it is being used for cleaning purposes... I doubt it will call any attention at all. Maybe the big disinfecting alcohol bottle I carry will be flashier. No ill intentions, lots of campers use it. 😀
