    Great advice, you guys make it easy to understand what works and what to expect on the boat. And don’t break your gear! Lol thanks!

    Coming into late in the season, Nov, what do you recommend for 2 day trip ?

    Just found your channel and I love the content. Would it be possible to provide the make and model of the rods and reels being talked about? Looking forward to more videos.

      The rod I believe is a 7640 with an avet 2 speed reel. Spooled with 65lb braid to 40lb monofilament.

    What was the first rod and reel you were describing?

    Good info. Were most of the day time tuna on sinker rigs or flyline?

    • @FishTheLegend
      @FishTheLegend  ปีที่แล้ว

      Last trip all of our daytime fish were flyline. 30lb. We had one bite on the sinker rig, but chewed him off after a short fight.

    How long mono leader do you recommend on the 100lb rail rod setup?

    • @FishTheLegend
      @FishTheLegend  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’d say keep it to a round number like 50ft or 100ft for depth purposes while night jigging or sinker rigging. If you’re just leadering a jig, probably half the length of the rod.

    hi, which way does your boat drift? ive heard different boat drift differently, where would be the best place to cast a bait?

    • @FishTheLegend
      @FishTheLegend  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Legend like about 90% of the boats out of San Diego drift stern first. You can cast out of the stern or the bow on a long drift.

    Worst thing about bluefin is sometimes they get into these weird moods where they will only eat 3 inch anchovies and ONLY anchovies... and line shy like crazy... I remember one time they were only biting tiny hooks and insane light line like under 20 lbs test and the smallest anchovies and they were so big if you did hook up youd get spooled, it was such a waste of time chasing them that day.
    Fishing is all luck and captain because sometimes you can just throw hooks and that quick shine is enough to get them to hit it.

    How much of a topshot would you recommend?

    • @FishTheLegend
      @FishTheLegend  ปีที่แล้ว

      3-5 ft of fluoro is all you really need when sinker rig fishing. Something manageable with your weight up above your connection. And then if you are thinking of having mono between braid and fluoro something like 50ft for stretch is really all you need.

    Would a TRX 50 be a good reel for school tuna.

    • @FishTheLegend
      @FishTheLegend  ปีที่แล้ว

      At night with heavy line for jigging it would be great! Even as a sinker rig set up for 80lb test.
