When I was a teenager in the mid 90s, I remember I wanted a MPC XL200 so fkn bad. I used to go to guitar center to play with it almost every weekend. Now that im old, I was able to purchase a MPC Live 2 Retro edition. I LOVE it. 🍻
damn i remember going to the guitar store and playing around with the 2500 and then i though that wow this is advanced compared to my xl and just stayed with the xl... and the new line of mpcs are killer theyre so dope they have so many functions!!!

the x hasnt gone anywhere, i spilled honey into it and pulled the screen ribbon out so im having troubl inserting it back in properly... ill never get rid of it... its going to be relevant for another 10 years easy...
@@dubsbangermusic Did you figure out how to insert the ribbon back to X? And tbh, cleaning black mpc device is a pain in the ass, after I cleaned up the device, minutes later, it got dirty again. Sometimes I have to switch to my mpc one retro because it’s looks much better when you have fingerprints all over it.

Curious about the reverb settings for small chops...like delay / decay / overall mix of wet & dry?
just wet reverb on the chops and youre good to go... delay and decay are great on chops with stuff like rhodes samples and trumpets/horns... theres so much you can do... but the xl is so limited...
Just one question plz : how do u do to avoid big saturation on your bass. Because your bass is on the kick. Your kick is thicker. In fact how many dB you have to fall the kick or the bass to sound perfect punchy without so much saturation. Thx a lot 🙏💯💯💯💯💯
this is hard to answer, ive learned to keep my bass really low in the mpc cuz when you master and mix your beat the bass really gets boosted, depending on what bass i use ill change my kicks so it flows into the bass perfectly... theres youtube videos on this topic when choosing kicks for your bassif you know youre going to use bass in your beat take the bass out of the sample so you dont have key issues... or lower the bass in the sample so its easier to match... for this beat i was lucky enough to kind of match the bass in the sample to bring it out...theres a few really good videos covering this topic im just not that experienced in the terminology and having to go about it myself, ima look for the video and send the link your way...

How do you setup the metronome I mean how you figure the timing of the metronome
im not sure what youre asking me here? how do you set up your own metronome sound? or how do i find the bpm?
@dubsbangermusic I mean the first stage you got the sample chopped then somehow you knew what tempo you were going to use on your track when I say tempo I mean the way you set up the bpm with the metronome, you mentioned that you use the metronome act as a hihat to keep you on beat. So the question is how you figure the tempo or bpm to make it sound so perfect.
most of my beats are between 176-186 bpm which is 88-93 bpm. ill lay down my sample chops and if they sound off to me ill bump up or down the bpms... most of my samples dont have the snare hi hats and kicks in them and if they do theyre not looped up... if youre using a loop youll have to make sure the bpms are pn point when the sample comes back around and youll have to adjust the bpms accordingly... what type of samples are you using where you want to know more about the bpms... finding the bpms for me use to be hard as well... let me know more specifically what youre trying to do or how youre tryng to find the bpm of a type of sample@@sigma-yn3qd

thank you that means a lot to me man any questions you have dont hesitate to ask... when you have samples also play around with the tune of them speed them up or slow them down... what i like to do a lot is slow the sample down and have my bpms higher.. it makes the beat not seem so fast when the sample is slowed down@@sigma-yn3qd

for saving data youre going to want to get a cf card and cf card reader, or a sd card and sd card reader... where it says mono, note off, and poly highlight it and then hit open window... hit the pad that you want to cut other sounds off with (youre able to pick up to 2 different pads) do this in order of your chops... is this your first mpc?

Thanks bro for the Info 🙏🙏I previously had an Mpc Studio Black and it does everything automatically. I'm having a bit of a struggle with this one because I'm having to get used to it, but it's a great machine.
i treat my mpc x as i do my xl... i still sample everything iece by piece no auto chop no pad chops nothing just straight single samples one at a time.. dig into the delay and echo reverb effects youll be able to make a new genre of beats@@justmendez6659
