I love how Bas Rutten's wisdom applies to many situations, not just fighting. This shows how great he truly is. Thank you, Bas-I'm looking forward to reading your book one day; I'm sure it will be fantastic!
I'm actually writing a book but boy, there is some crazy stuff so I'm gonna need to filter some so right now I'm just writing and then we will see, but I will be open, no worries. It's insane when I go back and write it down, had no clue what I all did, haha. Thanks guys!
@boborep.598 A fight is a good metaphor for life. If you lose, learn from your loss and make yourself better. The same can be applied to getting a loan and not understanding interest. Except that you lacked understanding but also go out and get that understanding. Find a man of wisdom to advise you. If you have not the resources to hire an advisor or you do not have a mentor that does not charge do research online. Bank tellers and employees are more than happy to confirm or deny your information and will often tell how to verify the information with your local laws if they are not able to do it themselves.
The fact that Bas had to teach himself so much about fighting with only one training partner and became one of the top fighters of his time, shows just how badass he is. Fighters like Jon Jones and Khabib and others might have more impressive records and such, but they were pampered with full-spectrum MMA training. Bas did not have that luxury and had to do so much all by himself with minimal support, that alone makes him one of the GOATS!
I'm not a physical fighter but I do play NL poker. I find the mental training for fighters can also be applied to this. Thank you for your solid and honest advice 👍
Bedankt man! 🫡
My vice is cannabis. Im mostly off of it but when ive been off it for 3-6 months i tend to forget what was so bad about it in the first place and when i forget, thats when i want to smoke again. Last week i smoked twice and now i remember again.. It destroys my routines, training becomes a chore even though its normally what i love doing. I start eating crap, i dont get any studying done, i have low energy.. so much bad comes from it.. still, i just sometimes cannot control myself with it. I have sometimes cried that i dont want to smoke anymore and 30mins later im smoking it.. Still, i think im getting somewhere as i smoke less and less.
I'm in that one right now since I always use it to go to sleep (my heart doctor told me it was much healthier then pills) but I was in Singapore last week and there it's punishable by death?! So I didn't bring it of course. Immediately my mind started to get clearer so I didn't start anymore. It's a big difference and it is what you say, it destroys your routines indeed. And that is just smoking once at sleep (never smoke during the day). So with you it will be harder, good luck with that!
1:34 "I've got so much going on in my life", that heart emoji was pure comedy. Bas you should do more videos, you are so much positive as a person and you can help so much people. Such positive vibes from an animal of a warrior is what is impressive to see. I hope your arm strength recovered almost fully after all those years!
Keep sharing this wisdom Bas! Been following you a long time. I was using your boxing and mma bag workout tapes in my early 20’s and still use them today! You’re having a positive impact on many lives.
Mental strength is key to survive in this world that we live from personal life, to sports,e.t.c....Another gem video Bas and you sir are a true inspiration. Thank you...CHIKARA...OSU!!
I grew up seeing you fight; as a teenager watching pancrase and Pride. As I started to train and grapple your commentary and instructionals were with me every day. As a student at university I watched you on Inside MMA (also; still watching Pride) between gym and studying for exams. Now, 25 years after we first got acquainted, I’m standing in my kitchen cooking, and listening to you spread some of your wisdom. I’ve learned a lot from you. And you’ve made me laugh. Often both at the same time. I sincerely hope you know how many lives you have affected. You’re a superhero in my book.
I think you are a true Warrior Bas , I have been listening to you here and there when Ive been able to! You have truth on your side , that is why others want to hear what you have to say … you’ve Done It and you know It … So what you say has value , Real Value !! Love you bas you re my childhood hero we used to train with my buddies from different martial art backgrounds on your methods when we were teenagers😂 thanks for being that consistent becon of values Im going for my second training today after watching this one you got me pumped 💪
Yeah that's a bad one, people have no clue, especially after doing it for a long time. But many kicked it and that means you can as well. Just start, it's only really hard the first week or so. But then it gets better, watch out because pride might make you think "oh it's going well, I can drink one drink" because that ALWAYS goes wrong, trust me, been there MANY times! Godspeed OSU
This was awesome, so much life knowledge and lessons wrapped in post fight advice. As a karateka I especially loved the bit at the end on why OSU👍🏽 not oss👎
Haha, yeah even aggressive dogs are always nice to me, cats walk up all the time. I spend 3 hours a day every day in the Forrest as a child, maybe something happened there? Ha, who knew?!
A great video by a humble man. Clearly Bas is one to not just better himself, but others as well. I genuinely enjoyed these insights and this extra amount of wisdom you shared here Bas. Thank you
@@OfficialBasRutten you’re welcome. Keep your Blessings and stay joyfully persevering for stronger virtues and righteous Grace. God Bless you Bas Rutten
I really needed this, failed my insurance exam and felt like I lost a fight, so disappointed. But I am back at my studying and will be taking another test tomorrow, it doesn’t matter how many times I fail I’ll still get back up

Bas how about those who apply your plan & take and after many years reached a point of exhaustion and fatigue. Can you make a video on that? I appreciate your input.
Hey Bas love your uploads. Can you suggest a diet for losing weight but staying fit in protein? I know im heavy in the gut but still love mma and training. Wanna keep up at least with the fit look. I would push it to the limit if you were my trainer lol. Keep em coming
