    I have made mung bean sprouts a few times during 2020 an now in 2021. I am doing a similar technique but only 1 layer with all the beans. I am going to try this method next, they are the thickest ones I have seen! Great video. I love doing this, its like an instant garden. I wonder if I water my hair every 4 hours if it would grow nice and thick, lol. If you read this have an amazing day and enjoy the harvest😍.

      Asian or Vietnamese market has these plastic round discs (normally use to place wet rice paper on to make spring roll and comes in a small stack). They come in different colors as well : )

    Followed instructions in this video, and it totally failed. Towels are a mess to clean afterwards, highly do not recommend using towels. Moldy smell in towels. Bean sprouts were small. It took more than 4 days, and the pink moldy stuff appeared. The mung beans are not that old either.

    Will it work without the towel between each layer?
    Seems like mold could be a problem with those wet towels...

    • @DIYmode-FunProjects
      @DIYmode-FunProjects  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are paper towels, so they are very clean and won't develop mold in a few days. The towel is there to keep moisture for the bean sprouts. It also works without towels, but you need to water it more often. Good luck.

      The wet towels help to keep moisture. You can also use the paper towels instead. I also work without the towels, but you need to water them more frequently, maybe every hour. Good luck!

      Same, i even bought a sprouter machine so watering and temp is consistent. I feel we just don't get the right quality beans here. Likely either small ones or old ones.

    • @michelmantion3446
      @michelmantion3446 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Bad quality sprouts may be the problem. However the title "2 day harvest" just isnt true. Including the 24 hour soaking time, its going to take about 5 days to get 2 inch long sprouts.
      Also, dont bunch them up like this person did, space them out a little more. Otherwise you will get misshaped sprouts...still very good but not as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as shown in his harvest at the end.
      And i find watering twice a day is sufficient, especially if using thick towels like in this video

    • @DIYmode-FunProjects
      @DIYmode-FunProjects  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The towel for each layer doesn’t need to be thick. The purpose of the towel to hold the water for moisture. You can even use the regular kitchen paper towel. Just to make sure to water more often if using thinner materials. On very top layer I use a large folded towel for the weight. You can use something heavy like dishes to replace that heavy thick towel. You should have some weight on the top for the simulation of beans are under the soil and trying to grow.
