Finally a review that goes into the safety features of the XC90 which is the number one priority for a true Volvo driver. Hands down the best presenter and review of this car I have ever seen. Well done and thank you.
This is how you make a car review....no gimmicks great knowledge and sound advice thanks so much I watched it start to finish and didn’t realise it was over an hour long which is testament to how interesting it was. Great job and very nicely presented. 👍
I guess this was shot back in October or early November 2019. The photography is framed particularly nicely in this video, thinking about the 32 minute mark approximately and particularly. My PCP on the XC90 D5 is ending in three week's time. I did think of changing it for a Defender First Edition for about the same £60k list price. Gave up on that as it doesn't get me excited enough to want to put up with the almost certain issues. I have a mind to buy this one out of the PCP for just over £28k. A new one to this spec would cost £63,000 before discount. Too much for an almost identical driver's car to my current one, which has Polestar and a few other extras.
An impressively comprehensive review like few. Well done! I only wish you reviewed one of the newest B5's as the T's have been reviewed extensively over the past 5 years, However, I've seen this car off-roading on terrain that I thought only LR's were capable of handling.
FINALLY! A person that knows how to do a proper car review. You covered everything in this video, where usually I'd have to watch a couple videos for other car reviews and still not get all the information.
I can only say I’ve not seen anyone present as good has this on a car review! The guy is a legend! It was particularly interesting for me because I’m having the MY 20 T8 R Design delivered at the end of this month.
I've just ordered a B5 XC90 and had that pang of 'oh god I hope I made the right choice' as comes anytime I spend more than about 50 quid... This review though was excellent and put my mind at ease.
My only gripe is that there is no way of putting the back seats up before the kids get in them. There isn't even a tether to pull them up by from the back. An electric switch would make a huge difference to practical value.
@@vc8160 The person is likely suggesting that since the activity is manual, it is going to take time and the kids may try to get into the third row before you are done putting the seats up. Of course this is just my deduction.
Very informative, thank you. At 57:25, you say "apparently a Volvo owner is 50% less likely to be involved in a crash than an average driver". Can you please share the source of this information?
Thoroughly enjoyed this review... I now know everything about the Volvo XC90. I wish we had a dealership in the Caribbean. We have only German Vehicles and British . All those safety features would be used on a weekly basis in my country, as there are lots of defective vehicles on the road, going the speed of missiles.. resulting in deaths, or persons breaking lights at intersections and hitting other people and fleeing the scene.
Thank you for watching, George 👍 One of our Vehicle Specialists can get you behind the wheel of a new XC90 and find you the most affordable solution. Fill-in this quick form and we'll get in touch: bit.ly/39YHCml
I'm very happy with the mechanical suspension, which saves money both to buy, and if kept long term, repairs and maintenance. The car isn't quiet enough to justify a quite ridiculous £3k for the HK system. The Xenium is worth having though. Inscription Pro with Xenium and Polestar B5 diesel would be my choice, which gives a fantastic spec without too many specified extras to devalue at resale time.
According to the UK Volvo website (and my local dealer), the fuel tank on the T8 is now 70L. Only 1L less than non PHEV versions. That was the only thing stopping me ordering one.
Volvo said in May 2018 that they would not be introducing any diesels in new model releases from 2019 as a transition to petrol/hybrid and electric vehicles. It would seem that this is not happening. Volvo are selling far more diesel powered cars than petrol or electric. I thought at the time that it was a very rash promise by Volvo.
Lovely car, let down by the lack of a smooth 6 cylinder engine. A noisy, rough 4 cylinder engine has no place in a car of this size and price. BMW have figured this out and now fit a 6 cylinder engine to their X5 hybrid (45e). Far more in-keeping with cars costing north of £65k.
Your accident statistic is out of date. Some was killed while driving an XC90 last year in the UK. Not sure of the details but it may well have been stationary and hit from behind by a large fast truck. Nothing can give 100% protection, but this car must be up there setting the standard for all cars.
Had volvos for 20 years, looking into getting one of these T8 at the moment. Fatal flaw being the 4x4 relying on having battery charge, stuck in the mud camping but 4x4 will not work as battery is flat? bit silly design. looks like the Petrol or Diesel is better choice

This guy talks like he's reading something but either is well rehearsed or just very articulate. Good review. It could be shorter without compromising the content, though.
Paul Saunders why? The 0-100 is 5,6s, quite impressive for two tons car whit 4 cylinder 🙃. Also the consumption of this car are the best in class, tanks of 4 cylinder... (if i’m not wrong) The only thing that you can miss from a six-cylindee is suond, but on this type of car is abolutely useless...
This is like a tv documentary. I love it

Absolutely 👌🏼
I am very impressed by the reviewer's presentation with not one stumble or 'glitch'. How many 'takes' were there?

Drove across Rannoch Moor at night and nearly hit so many Deer. That's a better safety feature than people realize

If stats show xc90 drivers have much less accidents why aren't these reflected in lower car insurance premiums?

Wrong. That’s the opposite of what is actually happening. Diesels are no longer available in any volvo lineup

Fair point. It will be resolved with an all electric motor. However, many people will still prefer gas (petrol)-powered autos.
Is this car reliable? Seems to have mixed reviews (about reliability) online.

For some reason Volvo's have never really done it for me and I just couldn't pay that kind of money to have a 2 litre 4 pot engine.

Those Chines make Volvos far better than those Swedes. Now Volvo are nice cars contradictory to when Swedes made the.
But according to consumer report, it’s garbage.
Tiny man or big SUV?
Blark Dexture yes, he appears to be too small for this car.
