DO NOT even try this. Just buy the whole actuator. I just had one of the worst experiences of my life trying this. If ANY of those tiny pieces or gears move out of place you’re as good as f&$ked. Finally got it back together after hours and the motor spins the wrong way so locking the doors unlocks this door and vice versa.
I’m pretty well mechanically inclined. I repair and troubleshoot hvac systems. Is it a hard job, or just meticulous? Unfortunately 3 outta 4 of my son’s car locks have failed.
@@adammidcal2425 I’d describe it as high risk for things to go south. Very fine motor skill based and all those tiny plastic gears are under tension and will go flying everywhere. I couldn’t find the part number he had anywhere, spent $22 on a motor that said Driver Side, the long gear spindle thing was too long, cut it down, got it to work and it spun the wrong way in the end. Wasted hours of my life because during this the pieces went flying everywhere multiple times and I was trying to match them back using pause screens from this video. Ended up spending $61 on the whole actuator assembly, was done in 45 mins, worked perfectly.

Yea I was thinking this isn't worth $120 savings. Just shell out for the entire assembly and replace it faster and def works.
@@in_10z Exactly right, I bought the whole thing after and put that in. Was faster and worked instantly. I got it for $61
@user-wv1sg4gz4h wow that's cheap. The lowest new one I can find for front left new (not remanuf) is $167.
