My old man was a lifetime shade tree mechanic (well, until computers took over at least) and watching these are like watching him work on a car - it's like going home again.
First car I had was an old ford. I banged on the house door. A old man came out. He looked like an older version of one of my Dads friends. Old mean biker lookin guy. He was a great person though. It was sunk in the mud and buried in weeds. I popped the hood made sure she had all her vitals available. Beat n heat the brakes until the wheels would turn. Started it up and rocked it out of the holes it made from sittin for years. Then rolled to a stop. Told the old man at the house, "I'll be back later to do the brakes so I could get er home". He gave me a funny look, like I was either dumb or crazy. He jumped in the car and proceeded to do doughnuts and burn outs in the intersection for about a half hour. He pulled back into the yard, he jumped out happy as hell. hopping and skipping, laughing and smiling. He walked up to me and said "see, you taken her home now then ?". I still wasnt sure about driving home with no brakes but, there was no way in hell I was about to tell that old man I didnt have the balls to do it ( I was only 15 years old, 1992 ). At that age I may not have had the balls yet but, I did it. It was one of the best lessons Ive learned in my life.
30 years ago I had the distributor modulator go in the hammer lane in rush hour traffic in a city I knew nothing about and coasted over 3 lanes off a ramp through a green light past a stop sign crossing the street into the parking lot stopping 6 inches from the curb in front of a parts store without ever touching the brakes and put it in park. To this day It was by far my finest moment.
That's a good story. I had a friend that drove us up to the high country to see some snow. He hit a super slick patch of ice making a left. Spun the Jeep around at least 540° while clawing for grip into the parking lot and backed it into a nice parking spot in front of the restaurant we were headed to. Did it all in one smooth action. Don't think Ken Block coulda hooned it in there any better.

The 52 Dodge series & Christmas special bus catastrophe are among my favorites!!! Because it reminds me of what I did when I was young enough to have that much care free fun ! Back in 1963 my buddy down the street had a 38 Chevy flatbed 1 ton truck who would pick me up to chauffeur me to high school. I had a rear seat out of a World War Two Jeep that I stuck into some open knots in the wood at the rear of the flat bed, so it would stay put! No seat belts they did not exist yet ! Was a wild ride! Lived through it! Thank God! Hilarious fun , endless laughter careening down desert roads in a truck and camper with it loaded with car club members bouncing off the walls of the camper! Laughing so hard you had tears in your eyes! And still do to this day! That’s what Derek’s videos remind me of! Just met up with a couple of old car club members, “brothers all” unfortunately it was a funeral for one of my brother club members and life time friend! We mourned the loss of his wife and life partner! But remembered all the fun we had when we were much younger , it was a great celebration of life! And we know she is in a much better place , to be with our lord , God Almighty! Your videos not only are entertaining & full of technical knowledge but inspiring ! Keep up the great work! …..
Worst place I ever broke down was over 30 years ago. I was toolin' down the highway in traffic in my '56 Buick when I encountered heavy traffic heading to the old Seattle Coliseum for a Seattle Sonics basketball game. That old nailhead didn't like the traffic much and vapor locked bigger than grannies bloomers. After getting the single finger salute about a thousand times from frustrated Sonics fans as my Buick was blocking traffic this dinky little tow truck finally showed up. The driver finally got the Buick hooked up and towed it and me home. Of course after the car sat in the lot outside my apartment overnight it fired right up. Needless to say however, I don't drive it in traffic much anymore. The Sonics are gone the coliseum is now called Key Arena, but the car is still with me.
If a guy wants to stop that vapor lockin up just put some of your wife's or granny's clothes pins on the makem go line between the fuel pump and the carburetor thingy. It'll draw of enough heat to keep a fella going thru the hot times. A trick I learned from an old desert fella some fifty years ago - works good and so long as you don't get caught swiping clothes pins - it's a cheap fix.
"All you gotta do is have your kids waste an entire bottle of Windex cleaning rocks and sticks..." had to be a recent experience. It's too real to make up that kind of thing. You are a great dad!
Remember watching this video years ago and it came up on my feed. So I decided to watch it again and am reminded as to why Derek has been having the much deserved success. Hasn’t changed him either. Lifetime subscriber. Keep doing your thing guy
Great shine! Love the vidyas. I used to tour with my band 24/7 365 for years as a young un. Once we were headed to Yellowknife N.W.T. (North West Territories, Canada) from Calgary, Alberta in our bus with all our P.A. lights, amps, music gear and us loaded inside. It was January and we'd just passed High River two and a half hours back in -56C weather (yes that's truly how cold it gets up there). It was dark. Suddenly some how the rear dualies of the right side of the bus broke off and we skidded to a perilous stop on the ice highway. This was in the early 1990's so no cell phones. Bad. But the bus was still running so heat. Scared. Freaked out even (always high back then because, band). But the highway was and I guess still is patrolled by N.W.T. Rangers in trucks. Half hour waiting and one found us. He drove back to High River then sent a old fashioned hook style 1979 3/4 ton Ford F350 tow truck to come tow us back to High River. Single Cab. Only the sound man and Light guy went in the tow truck the rest of us stayed in the bus. He picked up the bus by the rear end and towed us backwards while we were inside of the bus trying to steer the front wheels and praying we wouldn't all die due to the insane constant weaving and skidding back and forth of the bus at speed being towed backwards in the dark, icy, cold, night of the single lane highway. We drank all we had and smoked all we could as we prayed for God to forgive us because WE KNEW WE WERE GOING TO DIE!!!.....But we didn't. That young whipper snapper of a backwards tow truck dude really handled the whole insane rig like a nuthouse Nixon. We got to the town, took the only Hotel there and waited for parts to fix the bus. I'm still a believer.
So, I was watching this episode while my wife was napping on the couch, and I got tickled by your ridiculous antics. Well, being the thoughtful husband I am, I attempted hold my giggles on the inside-yep, and after about 37 seconds of this nonsense my internal pressure felt the need to lower itself via my backside-oh mercy, the sound that bounced off my leather recliner was enough to startle my dog, she was also napping, and the dog jumped up from her slumber, barked like maniac which of course work my bride. Yep-that happened. Anyway, the belly-laugher I experience was totally worth the butt-chewing I endured. I actually had to watch this twice because I missed a decent amount the first go around. 😂😂. Thanks for the fun-times and peace-out!
You are hands down the best car vlog personality out there!!! I hope your channel explodes like Goonzquad did! Your future is very bright indeed. Mouse sucker 500...CLASSIC!!!
He's good. But I wouldn't say the best out there. No insult intended. Lot of car channels out there, and some are really sketchy, and some really good. And he's in the really good category. Now if I can figure out what digicals means...
I agree with you that this guy is the best out there. Hes got humor and the know how and the balls to drive 16 miles with NO BREAKS. God damn i wouldn't drive out the driveway without breaks pfffeeewwww.
The moment he said “this oil pain is bigger then the R.M.S Titanic he got me full respect and made me laugh my ass off. This dude is now my daily watched TH-cam 😎
RIP Circular Saw. My thoughts and prayers go out to its friends and family. We are all so surprised by this and reminded to cherish the time we have with the ones we love. 😥We're gonna miss you Circular Saw😭😭😭
I broke down in one of them self feeding car wash driving my 57 Chevy. Had two other cars stuck in there behind me. Oh and the big sign that says honk if there is a problem. Only works if your horn does. 🤷🏻♂️
Up at 4 am because night shift. Giggling like a 6 year old at a sleep over when your buddy says weiner. Don't change a thing, you are entertaining and truly informative. Maybe a high performance Ford in there somewhere would be nice.
Broke down feelin' up a girl in a field after a date when I was a young man. Left the radio on too long w/o starting the truck to charge the ole batree. Had to walk a mile to a buddy's house for a jump since it was pre cell phones. Those were some good times
Better times. I remember flattening the batree on a '74 Be em dubya 323i, it had those mechanical fuel make it happiners so all I had to do to getter goin' again was to roll down hill but the stickilator in two and lift the clutch, no batree? no problem ran a dream without it, headlights were dimmer than a wet candle though.
Hi paul here So love your videos and love to rebuilt cars and motorcycle but not on your scale lol had an old citroen saxo i keep rebuilding till the floor fell out and the worst place i broke down on a beach and the tide took it well that's the fun of it keep doing what you do again love watching you puts a smile on my face lol be safe mate
There really needs to be a love icon and not just the like thingy. Enjoyed the whole video, thank you Derrek, I really appreciate the good laugh you gave me.
i had a 68 olds cutles me and a frind of mine went from ohio to Florida and alternator went out in Georgia and we just decided to just hitchhike the rest of the way to Florida it was just not a good plan took us two months to get back home, just no good. we hitchhiked back home and thank god for the people that picked us up, if not for there generosity we would have starved to death .
I have been under and over so many cars and trucks twisting wrenches over 5 decades and when I watch you it feels like my hands are getting greasy again. Love it.
An old timer from my older knaborhood showed us kids to use aluminum foil and water to brighten up chrome. The aluminum tends to fill in the pock marks rust divots better than sos or barillo.
Derek, Thank you so much for the entertainment I just found this channel a week ago and now my wife is hooked Too this is the best thing on the didgitcal device!
"guys seen himself die about 15 times in his dreams from the old jack stand fail." every time i slide under somthing on jack stands i look around and see what is going to crush my head first
@@donellmuniz590 If I have room, I'll leave my floor jack in place. Once the car is resting on the stands, I close the valve and leave it almost touching. Saves time at the end of the job, too.
I love your show , I borrowed my sister my car and 30 minutes later cops came to door and they told me my car was blocking all lanes of traffic on a 4 way in the middle of street with doors open , she flooded my 65 olds 88 in street and left it there , and I was 16 just got my license about 6 months ago back then and cop takes me to my car and I never seen so many angry people all telling what they thought of me and my car , I get in it starts right up and I drive it away with everyone telling me I'm number one in a not so nice way . I'll never forget this and I'll never loan my car to anyone again keep up great show , I loved working on getting cars to start like you do , bad back stopped me disabled now but I love watching you do it keep it up , down the road great job
Derek: there is a hidden sheet metal tube, behind the water pump when installed , called a water distribution tube that puts water under pressure flowing upward towards the head, helping cool the head! The tube can clog overheating the head & engine! Or the tube can disintegrate from corrosion due to the fact that it is sheet metal! If installing a new one treat it so that it won’t corrode before installing , note if you obtain a new one fabricate a tool to pull out the old one, using the new one as a template, maybe, 1 1/4 x1/8 strap steel about 4’ long maybe a little longer to be able to grab end W/ slide hammer to yank out old tube if it breaks up spend the time to clean it out all the way to the back cylinder! Big difference in cooling the motor ! Not many people know about this ! I was taught this by an old timer! On my first engine build as a teenager in high school rebuilding my Dads 52 Plymouth station wagon Flathead 6! Regards Mad Mike S. From the land of freezing ass cold❄🥶⛄….
About 15 years ago my mom called so happy,.. said my dad had just sold the old junkers . A 1952 -& 1956 Plymouth. I drove there as fast as I could but they were already gone.... I actually cried.
Oh wow. When I was a little one my grandpa gave me one of those exact hood ornaments. Still have it in my desk three decades later. Cool to know what the rest of the car looked like, lol.
Broke down on the side of the PA Turnpike. First started with smoke inside, pulled over on the turnpike and let it sit a minute, then started her up again. Made it roughly 500 feet before the smoke and smell and jumping began. 1990 Audi 80, That my dad got for free because no one could get it started. Worked his magic on her and got that problem diagnosed and fixed (cracked distributor cap, died every time a felette drove in the rain) But she had many additional issues that would keep coming up as she was undoubtedly the best most reliable model audi even created 👀 Thanks for the videos VGG - glad I came across the channel finally.
I noticed over the years Cooling systems get limed up from calcium in tap water. I used to dump in a pint of snobol for 24 hrs with several warm ups to decalcify. The downside, if it leaked it will get worse. Flush with clean water, fix the leaks then top off with distilled water and antifreeze or 50/50 antifreeze. Will cure the overheat and improve the heater. Enjoy your show!
That Korean War era chrome is notorious for being very thin. My folks had a '51 Nash Rambler Station Wagon and my job as a younker was to polish the chrome. I did it exactly the way you just showed how to do it.
Boy, do I ever miss this car. No offense to the shop lion, but after ‘Independence" and the "Vanishing Paint" Challenger, the ole Meadowbrook could have easily been the shop Mascot. With those mag rims and some shine juice, she was looking hotter than Jess B. in a pair of Daisy Dukes and I ain’t kiddin.' Nope. Not possible. Would be great to get an update on how the new owner’s lovin’ on her. Thanks so much for always being the bright spot in my day, Derek. Keep on livin’ the dream. 👍
Worst/best break down. Alabama to Georgia, caliper bolt fell off because I am stupid and forgot to torque it down well enough. A guy drove me around to six different auto parts stores...no bolt. Last chance was a utility/electrical store, yup, they had a bolt that worked. That guy got me to my VA doc appointment. Thank you guy. People are really great, don't believe everything on the news. And I love this channel.
Leaving giants stadium on a Monday night. Jets lost to Patriots, I'm wearing jets Jersey driving my 82 f150 wrong way down the exit to skip traffic, it catches on fire. Spent the next hour getting hit with beer bottles. Luckily I had a deer butchered in a cooler to throw back at them...good times. It was power steering fluid on the manifold btw. Love your vids man! Keep em coming
Jack Faught damn that sucks man I had an 86 f150 with a straight six it’s been through hell and back and ran to the end it had over 300,000 miles on it when I was heading down rout 70 and the frame snapped on the passenger side but the other side stayed intact drove it home with a snapped frame and realize now that was probably one of the stupidest things I had ever done but man I miss my truck.
Worst place I ever broke down was in the fast lane, at the traffic lights, and first in line during peak hour traffic with a huge line-up of cars behind me. The little brass inlet tube had fallen out of the mechanical fuel pump. Tapped it back in with a block of wood and popped the hose back on and away we went again. That was after I had to push it through the lights and around the corner to a safe parking spot.
Almost the same! Busy intersection, Hwy 501 in Myrtle Beach, SC, Friday @ 5 pm. My Chevy 1500 quit. First in line at light. A County police woman stopped & pushed my truck out the road before I knew she was doing it! By hand. The fuel pump in tank, had separated. I had been resisting getting a cell phone for years. I knew it was time then.
The thermostat isn't usually the problem if she's overheating. If you have NO heat and it won't reach operating temperature in winter, it's probably stuck open.
Interesting! I have a 49 Plymouth and a 50 Dodge in REALLY nice shape. Loved seeing this video. You seem to fuss with a lot of the vehicles I own and enjoy. Thanks buddy!
When we were young, my brother and I spent many times getting old clunkers to run, as we didn’t have much money and we never had more than $100 to spend on a ‘new’ car. Lots of memories! Every project was a new and exiting memory!
Love this one. Best breakdown I had was with my '78 Mazda Pickup (Ford Ranger) that died in rush hour on the Oakland Bay Bridge ~ thanks to God for AAA towing ~ great for beater vehicles. Points / distributer was on its last legs.
Just came across this video and it caught my attention because when I was a young lad my folks had a '52 Dodge just like this one, Coronet though, but exactly the same color. But I have a "what is the worst place you broke down" story. About twenty some years ago I was talking with a former co-worker who dabbled in old cars and he said "If you're looking for something, tell me." Half joking I said if you find a '46-'48 Dodge in great shape, let me know, being sure that finding said vehicle would be impossible. I mean, who would ever want to have such a thing. But the first car I had to drive was my grandfathers '48 Dodge 4dr sedan that eventually became my car through high-school, so I thought it would be fun to have one once again. Several months later he called me and said "I have your car". I responded "you found one". He replied "I bought it for you". We agreed on a price and he assured me that I should have no problem driving it back - a full half-day away. So I friend drove me down to get it and we drove it back with no issues. But it still had his plates on for driving home, so I needed to get the title transferred and new plates purchased. It was our anniversary so my wife and I were going to get the car's title transferred and then go out to eat afterword. The old Dodge ran fine coming home so I expected it would be a breeze for us to complete our business and enjoy the rest of the day. The car had other thoughts. On the way over to the BMV, the car died and I pulled it over to the side of the road. I opened the hood (had those neat gull-wing hoods and suicide doors) and started to check things out. Fuel checked out good, had spark at the points, but none coming out of the high-side of the coil. Suspected the coil went bad but wanted to confirm it so I walked over to garage/auto shop near by and asked to borrow a multi-meter. Of course no one is going to lend a stranger who just walked in expensive test equipment so the shop manager sent one of the mechanics with the test meter back with me. We got to the car and was explaining to the mechanic what I suspected was the issue and asked him to check it. He just stood there with the meter in his hand and a blank stare on his face. He didn't have a clue as to what to do. I asked him to lend me the meter and I confirmed that indeed, the high side of the coil had gone open. We went back to the shop and I asked the manager if they had a 6volt coil in stock. He just laughed and said no. I then asked him if he would call NAPA for me and have a coil delivered. He laughed a little more and said "You'll never find a coil for that around here." So I very politely asked him again if he would call NAPA and check. Still laughing (a lot) he picked up the phone and called. Laughing still, he told the counter man what he was calling for. All of a sudden he got quiet, his face turned sober and the next thing he said was "Send it over". An hour or so later NAPA pulled up with my coil, I paid the shop for the coil, returned to the car, installed the new coil, and we drove away - too late now to go out to eat. So that is my "what is the worst place you broke down" story.
That Dodge is a reel fine motoring machine back in the summer of '52 when wee young'uns would go jack rabbit hunting in our Dodge Meadow Muffins! Those were the daze Mr. Vice Grip.
I watched a lot of your videos and I am pretty surprised that something like this hasn't happened before. I would say you've been pretty lucky. Keep up the good work and the entertaining videos
As a mechanic of 35 years. you are correct about the need for a thermostat. Without one you are liable to get localized :hot spots" in your block. Also without a thermostat, the engine would always lose heat to the radiator and take longer to warm up.

The circular saw hanging down really adds to the ambiance.
Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton forever!
Maybe the Old Buick Was Trying to Tell You She's a Pistons Fan and Wanted Nothing to do with them Sonics ?
Jay Gilling my oldest son was a high school friend of Shawn Kemp. Concord High school, Elkhart, Indiana.
My old Fords, and really all my old cars always got me home safely, and then broke down in the yard. They loved me.
That is true about the thermostat...maintains the flow to keep the coolant in the radiator longer so that it cools down
That car wash was the funniest thing Ive seen ALL DAY. Thanks.
Yours is the best coolest garage videos on the internet, thank you 😊👍👍
I had no idea that Red Green’s son had his own car show! This guy is amazing. Informative and entertaining 👍🏻
Resemblance to Harold more than Red.......... In appearance. Throw in the soothing voice of Mustie1.... And there's your dinner!
reminds me of Red too.
You are hands down the best car vlog personality out there!!! I hope your channel explodes like Goonzquad did! Your future is very bright indeed. Mouse sucker 500...CLASSIC!!!
Thank you so much ya'll
He's good. But I wouldn't say the best out there. No insult intended. Lot of car channels out there, and some are really sketchy, and some really good. And he's in the really good category. Now if I can figure out what digicals means...
The deader then Elvis on the battery loved it
Digicals works with electrisicals.......LOL
I agree with you that this guy is the best out there. Hes got humor and the know how and the balls to drive 16 miles with NO BREAKS.
God damn i wouldn't drive out the driveway without breaks pfffeeewwww.
The moment he said “this oil pain is bigger then the R.M.S Titanic he got me full respect and made me laugh my ass off. This dude is now my daily watched TH-cam 😎
Thanks for the intro in bringing the paint back on these old cars Derek. Great video and thanks Jessica for picking him up and getting him home!
The fender repair was gold. 👍
That Circular Saw dangling in the background during the unboxing tho.
That tells him how far to back the Dodge in. You can tell he went too far the once-so it worked.
what the f was that right?
Ben1730 lol, yep, I saw that too!
I'm still laughing about the damn saw. Brilliant.
RIP Circular Saw. My thoughts and prayers go out to its friends and family. We are all so surprised by this and reminded to cherish the time we have with the ones we love. 😥We're gonna miss you Circular Saw😭😭😭
I appreciate your creative use of language and humor. Thanks for throughing in the useful tips. Your entertaining and interesting
Love Derek, his style his talent, his projects and love for abandoned road junk treasurers!!!!!
Derek you are the most talented , intertaining and likeable person you can find..
UNBELIEVEBLE 68 YEARS this car has the luck in falling in a "connoisseur" a real "DOCTOR" for vehicles and all mechanics Bravo Friend !!!
I have never laughed so hard as to when you went through the wash with the plastic bag rear window. " feels good on the back of a guys neck" 😆
"thats too much...tooo much !" as the car rapidly fills with water...
Anytime i think of watching just one video i end up in a VGG marathon with an emty sixpack and tons of car building knowledge.
I broke down in one of them self feeding car wash driving my 57 Chevy. Had two other cars stuck in there behind me. Oh and the big sign that says honk if there is a problem. Only works if your horn does. 🤷🏻♂️
LOL
One thing I learned about Chevies is that they sure make Fords look perfect.
200 miles in the middle of BFE. 8 HRS for a tow. Was alot of fun. Thank you AZ DPS for the extra water and the food......
@@BauregardSenior87 .....🤣🤣🤣🤣 You have me smiling on fathers day.
Hope you have a good one as well 😁
That car wash scene was hilarious. Giving a guy a great laugh on a rainy afternoon. Thanks!
Restoration on a budget. Love it! Any car with all working gages is a keeper.
I think this might be my favorite episode so far!
I love how there's just a saw casually dangling there at 9:08.
I had my concerns until i saw your comment and realised it wasn't just me noticing the swinging Blade of Damocles. Now I feel better.
Haha, yeah what hell is that?
That's the saw of Damocles
Mechanics dream catches?
Just saw that too and wondered why....
Your channel is better than anything on TV. Great content keep up the good work!
Thanks - appreciate that!
@@ViceGripGarage intrresting for sure i would like to see what you could build with sparing no expense

Enjoyed the whole video, thank you Derrek, I really appreciate the good laugh you gave me.
My all time favourite VGG moment is the car wash. Has me in tears every time. 🤣 Best channel on the youtubes!!
i had a 68 olds cutles me and a frind of mine went from ohio to Florida and alternator went out in Georgia and we just decided to just hitchhike the rest of the way to Florida it was just not a good plan took us two months to get back home, just no good. we hitchhiked back home and thank god for the people that picked us up, if not for there generosity we would have starved to death .
my new favourite channel this guy has me in literal tears
" Oh no, it's shiny. Shiny stuff makes me really nervous" Best line in the whole episode
Your video work is getting better every episode. This is almost like a series you might find on a cable channel..
it's a different red green type show. I'm a fan of goofy and dry humor.
Boy I do wish you’d upload vijeo’s more frequently there Mr. Grip Garage! One of thee best damn channel on the YousTube!!!

Well I’ll be dipped if this ain’t the best dang interwebs vidya I ever did watch!

The funniest episode yet. You are awesome! Never stop!
Welcome to my new favorite channel on TH-cam
About 15 years ago my mom called so happy,.. said my dad had just sold the old junkers . A 1952 -& 1956 Plymouth. I drove there as fast as I could but they were already gone.... I actually cried.
Oh wow. When I was a little one my grandpa gave me one of those exact hood ornaments. Still have it in my desk three decades later. Cool to know what the rest of the car looked like, lol.
"Well! I immediately regret this decision!" 🤣😂
I’ve been fixing cars since 5 years old, nothing but aggravation mixed with joy. Great video
Worked his magic on her and got that problem diagnosed and fixed (cracked distributor cap, died every time a felette drove in the rain) But she had many additional issues that would keep coming up as she was undoubtedly the best most reliable model audi even created 👀
Thanks for the videos VGG - glad I came across the channel finally.
StriNg Oriented and symBOlic Language?
Don't DON'T ever lose the humor Derek 🤣😂🤣👍👍
That Korean War era chrome is notorious for being very thin. My folks had a '51 Nash Rambler Station Wagon and my job as a younker was to polish the chrome. I did it exactly the way you just showed how to do it.
Hands down my fave thus far. I can't tell you enough how entertaining you are. I had to screenshot the carwash scene for my wallpaper....priceless!
Thanks Charles - that's awesome!
This is, by far, the best car video I have watched in a very long time, I really needed this laugh today!
Winner!!🏆🏆🙌
Jack Faught damn that sucks man I had an 86 f150 with a straight six it’s been through hell and back and ran to the end it had over 300,000 miles on it when I was heading down rout 70 and the frame snapped on the passenger side but the other side stayed intact drove it home with a snapped frame and realize now that was probably one of the stupidest things I had ever done but man I miss my truck.
There is a special layer of hell for Patriots fans
@@houseofpills Jets fans ARE living their hell. :-)
You my friend are a rock star
Dude you are a trip, I could enjoy a cold one and watch your shows all day.
It’s interesting watching these old videos and seeing how far this channel has come
I don't know how many thermostats I have replaced ... unfortunately, not a single one of them was the problem.
Your preaching to the quire brother.
Had to replace on a hummer, didn't even open a half inch
@@dennislynn2955 also "you're"
The thermostat isn't usually the problem if she's overheating. If you have NO heat and it won't reach operating temperature in winter, it's probably stuck open.
This reminds me of something some guys I knew back in high school would say when anything went wrong... it’ll buff.
Love your adventures with old cars, look forward to each and every new video!!!
Thanks!
I broke down at the DMV, and they had a nerve to fail me too. Aaah, those guys, lol. Love your vids, hilarious.
That's a tad inconvenient ! Appreciate ya!
Hey Derek. Man you are a hoot!!!! I tell everyone about your channel. I have to admit, you learned me a thing or two.
Vice Grip.
I swear, if I ever make it to Minnesota I'll buy you a beer and a steak dinner. Love the channel and looking forward to the next one. Cheers bud!

I watched a lot of your videos and I am pretty surprised that something like this hasn't happened before. I would say you've been pretty lucky. Keep up the good work and the entertaining videos
A guy really has guts & does not back away from defeat. Amazing 👏 🙀
As a mechanic of 35 years. you are correct about the need for a thermostat. Without one you are liable to get localized :hot spots" in your block. Also without a thermostat, the engine would always lose heat to the radiator and take longer to warm up.
