You won't be disappointed with the togas they are a nice fish to keep, the beauty of them is they are always moving around and look majestic, they both look nice but the jardinii is a little nicer in my opinion and has more colour with a deeper body, where the leichardti is narrower and a little bit tougher in my opinion, I love the wild Oscars to, make sure you keep them together because if you seperate them they can turn aggressive, when they are in groups they seem to be happier until they pair off like most fish, I actually got a surrendered tiger Oscar from the RSPCA a little while ago because they got 4 of them in and it was the last one and the poor thing was used to having company, the shop should have known better and sold them off as a group as this one was fretting, it totally changed when I put it in with my wild one and was happy again, I was a bit hesitant at first to how they would go as I had one years ago that I couldn't have anything with, it would even damage the setup of the tank, I look forward to seeing your new room sounds exciting for you 🙂
Thank you Jason, whenever you comment its a real wealth of knowledge mate. I've had both the Jardini and Leichardti in the past but never both at the same time haha nor this small, I do agree in the fact that the jardini looks better. The wild oscars along with all the other South Americans will go into their own tank with one of the togas most likely but I don't want to split them. having a nice school of oscars, especially wild ones is something you hardly ever see. I cant wait to see them triple the size they are now haha.
Sure thing! They are often available but i've just never gotten them. Once I sort out the plans for the other tanks in the room, then I can absolutely look at getting a school. It may even be a better alternative to more common angelfish actually so thank you very much for the idea!
I'm thinking peppermint parancistrus catfish for 2024 :)
Oooooh! A classic and a must have haha, ill add it to the collection list!
Keep an eye on those togas 😉
They already have snack sized foods getting around in there!
