Aquarium Central have the largest variety of freshwater aquarium fish in-store and online in Australia, including African Cichlids. Nigel has bred African Cichlids for over 15 years, and has a range of over 150 Malawi, Tanganyikan AND Victorian Cichlids in store.

Is everything more expensive in Australia? I can get fx6 here without discount for £300 which is still £65 less even with your 35% discount
AQUEON has to have some of stupidest people in charge of greenlighting their vast lines of aquariums along with a very widespread list of products. I definitely have no problem buying what I consider some of the best Aquariums with the PETCO 1/2 price deals , but when I get home I will be very busy carefully removing the excessive caulking that is just about as good of an example that the standard of quality is non existent with the people who have been consistently following the recipe for producing a bunch of inhumane crap with a very small sampling of a useful item o two. It's a mindset that I hope one of those in charge will have a look at what is going on in Germany or the Netherlands , Poland , Italy , Australia , Austria , Belgium , Spain and my point is that we are so far away from the quality aquatic products that are common in almost everywhere in the world. I am not saying that you would never find a few questionable products in some of the stores in a few 3rd world countries...... I think it's a possibility but the majority of the crap PETSMART & PETCO sells is a real shame and I would never even consider buying any of their fish aside from Betta's for obvious reasons. 😲

This is Aquamunch but they don't currently ship overseas 😩 You could try a different type of colour food like White Crane

Now this is what i call a REAL fish store!!! Thats a store with a very huge variety !!! I could easily go to that store and stock up all 5 of my tanks with 1 trip!!! I live in Indianapolis,Indiana and our fish stores combined dont even have no where near the selection that this 1 store has ! Great Video!
That discus in his planted display tank looks painfully thin
That discus was donated to the store in bad condition it is 10 times better than it was. It has been wormed and treated for parasites since its arrival
This store is crap all most of fish I have purchased here are full of disease and infest the tank when you add them i switched stoere and super happy.
Why do people make these fresh water ranks look like they are coral reefs? Strange choicd but seems common in these videos
It's because these fish called African Cichlids like water that's a high pH and the white stone that looks like reef raises the pH. That's why it's so common in African Cichlid tanks

Wow i just learned something new by watching this video. I didn't know that a fishes stomach is about the size of it's eye. That's going to help me with my over feeding lol. Im a heavy feeder so knowing this hopefully saves me time amd money.
I want to do a cichlid tank and have area for a 55 gallon. Could go taller, but not sure if that’s the effect I want. I want big beautiful high quality fish, active and amazing, but of course healthy. Clown loaches will be a must…school of 5 or 6 for sure.
How many cichlids and which would you choose?
Kaity certainly has the Knack for this kind off work and is extremely good at it.
Her knowledge of all things Chilid related and other such as Plants, Filtration and Aquarium set ups is astounding.
This Girl will go a long way in the Industry and People who own said like shops should jump at the opportunity of taking her on in a Managerial role.

Read the reviews before dealing with this establishment. They keep the best for themselves and sell the B grade and colour feed too much which isn’t great for the fishes health and then they lose all colour when you take them home.

I realize that it's harder to get fish in Australia not like the US .
It's absolutely understandable why your prices are so high .I can get a big verity of cichlids for $5.00 to 20.00 each. Gold fish are so cheap also .80 cents to $5.00 . It actually depends on who you buy them from because I've seen some up to $20.000.00 $800.00 so you have to do alot of shopping to get the best deal around.

Some of my favourites are the fish trap expeditions around Qld reason when I lived in West End i would travel to Annerley Ekibin Park on Ekibin Road during the 90s so i could catch all different types of tropical fish species from small tetra swordtail to large Cichlids etc also fresh water prawns crabs

I feel that oscar, he is my spirit animal. I do love axolotls but i have no space for it currently. Also this video almost felt like cooking for aquariums channel. I am looking for yoyo loaches here for my asian tank but i have not found them yet. You look cute eating slushie in the video haha. I geuss having a high PH is problematic for keeping aquatic plants since plants like a bit lower ph, also wood features can lower pH as well. You must have enjoyed yourself seeing all those cichlids.
guppies are notorious for nibbling on other fish fins so they would probably nibble a lot on the axolotls.
I had a great time!! And lol yes it was very much like a cooking channel but for fish food 🤣

I've never seen such expensive bettas before...I'm from the US though n don't know the money conversion so maybe it's not expensive...gonna educate myself on the conversion

33:04 That'll depend on how well your house is insulated. AC for a medium-sized room should have about 2.5kW (which means using about 800W electricity), and a cooler for a single 6f tank will have around 400W. The question is how long each of them would need to run.
And there are so many other factors. I guess the best choice is to get both - use AC to have a comfortable room temperature and a chiller control the water temperature more precisely.
the issue would be how well the house for axolotls is insulated :P the human house is a second factor
