Since a few updates ago, assistants can now tame mudraptors by raising them from the eggs, And if feed and kept, they are actually loyal and protective towards the owner

Don't forget. The eggs have to be crafted with Dementonite to become "PetRaptor" Eggs.

I believe the inability to tame a mudraptor stems from a lack of awareness. As said, mudraptors will attack any light source, suggesting that it uses some other sensory organ to detirmine whether something is friend or food. Domestication would require breeding mud raptors until only the ones that view humans as friends remain, and that would take some time, plus if there was a secret project to make domesticated mudraptors, the fact that normal people don't know enough about them would explain why the coalition would lie and say "they can't be tamed" just so idiots stop killing themselves.
Edit: turns out some idiots actually managed to make raptors that think humans who are alive aren’t food somehow, by those who repeatedly die.

    'Impossible to tame'
Ah, yes, this brings me back
Quite a while ago, I was running security for a rather large sub, and we had a cargo mission
I only passed through gunnery compartments and the armory, nigh never visiting any other place on the sub, unless I was directly asked to by the captain or had wounds that I couldn't treat with my personal first aid, so I had no clue what was happening elsewhere on the ship, unless I heard it on radio
I came back from a expedition into a cave, in which we killed a swarm of crawlers
Once back, I wanted to find our medic to check me for a Husk infection, since back then I wasn't entirely sure what transferred it back then
Upon opening one door, I came face to face with a giant blue mudraptor
After a split second of shitting myself, I dumped a... 'reasonable' amount of buckshot into said raptor
Moments later, my captain asked what was happening
After I told him there was a mudraptor in the sub, he asked if was firing at it
Then everyone laughed their asses off, cause I went ballistic on a *'tamed'* mudraptor
Much to (almost) everyone's misfortune, the raptor died
For a bit more context, the previous crew I was on was torn apart several times by those things, so yes, I was 'a bit' jumpy around those things

I'd believe that mudraptor egzoskeleton is not chitinous but rather bony. I base this on their loot "hydroxyapatite" which is one of the largest component of bones in earth lifeforms. I'd say it's an amazing informative vid :D

Ah yes. Constantine 'Bad Luck' Redd, the unlucky Medic of the SS Shitstarter, is very familiar with these creatures. Primarily due to the fact every time she leaves the frickin sub they seem to be waiting for her, or ambush her when she's helping explore ruins. And don't get her started how they sunk her respawn shuttle TWICE.
Thankfully with the Barotrauma 40k mod, Constantine is a Medicae with a Laspistol which punches through their armor.

      @lechking941 ปีที่แล้ว +1

XD ouch as a fellow medic i feel the strain of the water often and have had my own number of raptor based encounters but i love the critters for they are intresting but if there is any form of taming to making them into pets i WILL be the man to find it. or i would, but were i operate there has been some heavy genetic tinkering. so pet raptors are a lot more common place around here.

fun fact in the game you can have a pet mudraptor
although not in the vanilla version. but there is a mod that allows you to tame them through saline irc

  • @MarionetteDuAuguste

So mudraptor shells are not chitinous. Chitin (pronounced like Titan) is a long chain bio polymer that forms a fibrous structure that is most recognizable as the main component of arthropod exoskeletons. Notably, chitin is primarily found in terrestrial arthropods, while their aquatic relatives tend to sport mineralized armor (like lobsters, which, while also sporting Chitin, primarily rely on calcium carbonate in their shells to protect them) as the necessary minerals to form such plating can be found dissolved in the surrounding water, a resource not available to land dwelling creatures.
Mudraptors, to this point, drop Hydroxyapatite when killed. Not only is hydroxyapatite responsible for giving bones their rigidity, it is found in its largest concentration in humans in teeth, where it is primarily responsible for making the enamel found there the hardest substance in the body.
Suffice it to say, Mudraptor shells aren’t Chitinous, they are SIGNIFICANTLY more heavy duty than that.
Edit: The Mudraptor seems like the unholy love child of the Utah Raptor and a Dunkleosteous

plus it makes a nice big crispy crunch when you shoot it with a riot shotgun that i doubt chitin can make

Hi there, Im not sure if your had read my last comment on your last video. If you have, I do apologize for not specifying the exact type of visuals, whether it be pictures or video clips. What I should of said in my previous comment comment was just a suggestion to mabye sprinkle a couple more pictures into your videos. Maybe adding one or two short video clips about the entity or environment you are debunking, while talking in your usual tone or mabye try staying silent while the clip plays. Sorry if I did cause some sought of confusion for my lack of specification.
