Note on Ballast Flora clouds: The flora only has a chance to infect your sub if you're pumping water into the ballast. So if you can't avoid the cloud, use manual steering and fill the ballast pumps above the cloud, then fall through it without adjusting the ballast level. You can also have crewmates turn your pumps off in multiplayer to make sure they don't intake water.
This game... you make the start biome seem like a walk in the park. So far every single mission (multiplayer campaign) has been a brutal. Sub has been attacked by mudraptors every time, sometimes multiples, and we're rocking 6 bullets in a single revolver to fend them off, it's been a nightmare.
My brother in christ if you think that a bunch of mudraptors are hard wait until you get to the second biome. On my first mission in the European Ridge I was attacked by a Thalamus, a Moloch and a band of Tiger Threshers (in time you'll come to hate these bastards in particular). Remember to upgrade your sub or save up for a Tier 2 one once you enter the Ridge, and make sure to get some more powerful weapons, because trust me: a revolver is nice, but you're going to need something better to deal with what awaits you past the last outpost.
Thats a walk in the park for the rest of the game, you know like later on Is very common yo get attacjed by a Moloch, boardes by husk, rammed by hammerheads, attacked by pirates and being trapped by a talamus wreck, all at the same Time while there Is one griefer among your crew disconecting things, overloading the reactor, inyeccting random things to all the crew and loading the diving suits with weilding tanks

It says on the wiki that you can get to the Abyss at any level because there's a 100% an opening to it will spawn at the 'end outpost'. Does this mean every outpost at the end of a level, or at the end of every biome?
I think that the most unpleasant and difficult places from the point of view of navigation are the European Ridge and the Great Sea. The European ridge is unpleasant due to the presence of a large number of spores of ballast flora and underwater currents. The Great Sea is impassable due to the accumulation of molochs, piezocrystals, the labyrinth-like structure of the level and blocks of ice. At the fourth location, I was constantly plunging into the abyss to miss most of the level. It turned out to be much easier, faster and safer to fend off a local resident than wandering through the maze in search of a passage. After that, hydrothermal waste seems like a walk in the park I don't speak English well, so I used Google translator
IMPORTANT: In addition want to say 1. there are new plants that you can find in Aphotic Plateau, they are looks like mutated cacts and they can EXPLODE (low to medium mostly non lethal damage) 2. You can see ANY deposit on handlehand sonars or upgraded scouts vessels navigation terminal INCLUDING alian matirials and even Paralyxis deposits (despite it's a biological material so it must be hidden like plants on sonar) 3. there could be different streams that can bring your vessel in any diraction, THE TRAP that you can barely see balast flora in streams, so be aware if you are trying to get down through the stream
I've reached the hydrothermal wastes in my solo playthrough and now this video get recommended. Man I wish I know about the black molochs. Could've save me 2 hours of retrying the mission.
Just made it to the great sea in single player, and sweet holy hell the difficulty spike. Swarms of hammerheads (those are ok), multiple giant spinelings (annoying), and the effing black molochs (BONK). Thalamus wrecks are honestly not a problem, by far the least problematic of all hazards
Passive sonar still works when your navigation display is being disrupted by sonar flora or black molochs. So if you're trying to see in the areas where the disruption is, just turn off the active sonar.
If you guys want the most fun in singleplayer just go dugong in cold caverns humpback for europan ridge and aphotic plateau and then something like typhoon 2 for the rest
At what level will outside plants like sea yeast and the aquatic poppy spawn in? I'm having the worst luck finding them other than as random loot in wrecks
They will spawn in all biomes, the more difficult, the more chance for spawning. Best thing to do is use a scout or transport class ship, then upgrade one with a mineral scanner, they will appear on this as you travel through the ocean.
@@IronicandDead ah. So they do show up on a scanner? Good. Been running the r29 and using the observation periscope in the command room to manually search walls & the sea floors for them.
@@IronicandDead How do you identify plants on the sonar screen? They don't have handy little pins like minerals that even tell you what they are. I think it was some type of bug. It was as if there were invisible flora branches popping off gas clouds.
Damn, if you empty the ballasts by trying to move the sub and use a screwdriver to disconnect the power from the pumps, you can use a dive suit and a welding torch to kill the flora brain at the pump, Close the blast door before you kill the brain everything else should kill it's self and disappear after 10 mins, or run around with a welding torch 2 mins after you kill the brain and it'll clean up quickly Best way to avoid flora (faint twinkling blue dots Seen on the sonar) is to avoid using the pumps while in it by either emptying ballasts and floating up or if you have enough space above the flora fill the ballasts completely by manually steering directly down before you enter the flora Field, if your ballast is already full before you touch it and sink all the way through it you won't catch it in the ballasts End goal is you don't want that infected water in your ballast 😛
You might have encountered it in an old update or in The Great Sea (which does look like the cold caverns). The current game version will not spawn ballast flora in the cold caverns, outpost levels and the endzone.
@@IronicandDead I trust you but like I played 3 days ago in a campagne we just started and we got balast flora like 2 levels before changing for the first time of biome. It's weird. Maybe my memory is not good but it's was 3 day ago. I will take note next to be shure.

My idea of what the first biome is is anything before the first reputation checkpoint, is that wrong?
@ForShovelry2 If you are very lucky, you can get level 4 monster attack missions, but I was referring to the 2nd biome where they are common and available for all mission types. With regards to abysall you can encounter on every level, to do it you will need to head to the end of a level when the difficulty rating is above 10%, then out the back and down into the abyss, you should encounter a latcher, however you won't encounter one sailing from the start to the end destination for this biome.
Note on Ballast Flora clouds: The flora only has a chance to infect your sub if you're pumping water into the ballast. He did say in the video theres only a chance to be infected 'when moving in a downward direction' (ie when your pumps are pumping in)
You can also wire a pump shutoff toggle to the navigation console, for easy ballast flora avoidance
