I've never been a huge cigar smoker, but I have recently started growing my own tobacco. One tobacco plant produces tens of thousands of seeds so after the initial $8 investment I made on seeds I can grow free for the rest of my life, and now I have a new hobby of trying to figure out how to roll a better cigar.
I roll my own cigars to save money, just buy it by the pound, then I shop clearance deals online, but I still support my local shop about 2x per week. Also as a Spanish speaker, Rico also means delicious so when you say Rico barrato I don’t hear rich and cheap I hear , delicious and cheap. Que Rico!
To be honest, in order to get better value I switched from cigars to pipe smoking. No regrets, I also found cigar nicotine hit me hard. No such problems with a pipe. Still like the videos though Tim.
I was gifted some pretty nice tobacco pipes but I haven’t really explored pipe tobacco yet. I tend to not prefer infused or flavored cigars, and most of the pipe tobacco I’ve come across is just that. Any recommendations you’d like to share? I really enjoy a nice dark maduro cigar if you know of any pipe tobaccos that might fit my palate.
I also enjoy pipes. Something you can do if you’re smoking a pipe but just craving the flavor of your favorite cigar, is to add some cigar leaf to your pipe tobacco. Next time you enjoy one of your favorite cigars, cut off an inch or half inch off the foot and cut them into ribbons and store in a separate jar as you would your pipe tobacco. When you want to add some to your pipe tobacco, just mix in a pinch the cigar leaf (about 0.5-1 gram). Be aware that pipe smoking a cigar tends to be stronger on the palate!
@@ChimRichalds750hopefully you found some pipe blends you like. English blends as you probably know by now are the way to go. A great smoking experience!
Yeah I won't lie, I was skeptical when my buddy handed me a cheroot just last week to try. But man that thing blew me away for what it is. A cheap stick that really does more than how much you pay for it. I'll be picking up a bundle for sure.
We’ll I’ve been smoking the Drew Estates Factory smokes as my everyday cigar. I’m also not one to toss out a lit cigar so one usually lasts 2 days. I’ve also saved money with your 20% off code yesterday 😎
I recently switched carrer paths, went from factory work to an apprenticeship in a trade. Unfortuntely that means a drop in my hourly wage until my first year is done, i made this move right before the price of everything started to skyrocket. I've decided to cut back by buying more budget liquor offerings and more bundled sticks while saving my more premium stuff for special occasions
Johnnie walker black label in the larger bottle is my go-to for saving some money and I really enjoy it. Wild Turkey 101 I also find great flavors that hit way above its price weight.
I worked at a gas station in 1964 and pumped gas for 25 cents a gallon, but I only earned 60 cents per hour. The fact is our gas prices today are cheaper than they were back in the day. America got used to cheap gas prices.
This video made me smile and I’m definitely going to try all of these on my next cigar run! I tried the Schizo on your recommendation and I was really impressed! Can’t wait to try the others!
I swear by those Drew Estate factory cigars. For the price they're very good smokes. Never tried those ruff riders definitely going to give them a try. Great video especially with this economy.
Tim, I keep going back the the Perdomo Fresco Connecticut as a go-to ~$3 stick, and I tried most of the bundle sticks I could find. Have you checked them out in a review? Just edged out the Flor de olivas a tiny bit for my palate.
I need a bundle cigar sampler pack with a couple of each of these in it. I hate that I have to spend $40-$50 just to try out a cigar that i might hate.
In these trying times I've begun smoking a pipe. I still have a good cigar with my coffee before work every day, but now pipe smoking on my lunch break. It's not actually to save money it's just trying something new to me
Hey Tim, I love your shows but I have to relate a very negative experience with a recommendation. I purchased two bundles of Fleur de Oliva, robusto and toro. The robustos were great. Excellent draw, burn, and flavor. The toros were wa difficult exactly the opposite. The draw barely put any smoke in my mouth therefore I had to draw much more. The taste was horrible and hot. Half of the Toto’s I threw away because the wrapper was badly cracked. Check them out because I don’t want you to get more comments like this. I must say that I’ve been smoking Oliva series O for quite a while and have been very happy with them. Keep up the great shows. Love them. David Goldberg
What a great Video Tim! Loved it and I have never tried any of the ones you talked about. But I will. And by the way. And by the way, it made me want to open a cogar bar in my hometown in Union, SC.
Switched to cigarillos that were suggested from you and Alec for my weekday breaks and I save my magic toast and my big bad puffers for the weekend baby. Unless I have a bad day then a toro might be needed
JC Newman makes a nice cigar for a local tobacco outlet/convenient store. It Carries the TOPIC label. 6*54, $4.59, 6*60, $4.79. Nice long filler with a similar taste to the Brickhouse.

Hey Tim, I am from India and the cigar culture is very acute. So its hard to find good humidors at cheap prices. I was thinking of getting one made, however, the inner lining has to be spanish cedar which isnt available here. Can you suggest some alternative wood types which I can use for the inner lining of my humidor? Any help will be greatly appreciated
Since prices have gotten so horrible, I’ve switched to smoking mostly Nicaraguan Overruns and 2nds. Any size you want at $2 delivered to my door. And they are pretty much just as good as everything else. Just not paying for bands and boxes. Saving me a ton of money. I also smoke a pipe from time to time which is dirt cheap.
