FL5 Civic Type R Center Muffler Delete

- I wanted to see what it would sound like to remove the middler muffler.
This has has the valve before it, it should be louder when the valve opens under full throttle.

I'm still very happy with how Knight, my FK8, sounds with how you modified the exhaust for me. In my newer TH-cam videos I use it at the start up. Thanks LHT!

@@ScubaSteve119 John and George removed the large resonater and the two mufflers only leaving the center one. It sounds good and is not annoying on the highway with the windows up.

This came up in my feed and when I saw him modding the exhaust I was like oh shit thats the guy who built OG's Beautiful EM1 Civic SI. Anyway love your work and this FL5 is beautiful I love it!! I prefer Pearl Black but boost blue is growing on me! The color matched wing is such a nice lil subtle touch that gives it more accent! 👍
Nice work! I anticipate the FL5 face lift will have the improved exhaust note of the Integra Type S.
Probably not. They’re made in Japan and meet their strict sound regulation as opposed to the type s which is made in America.
Wow what a difference changing the spoilers color to blue made. Looks way more in sync with the design.

do LHT sell or recommend the buffer and the polishing compound, and perhaps the polish.

completely agree about the sound, try removing front small resonator, I think Integra type S doesn't come with it.

This looks like a really nice exhaust, and it sounds great, but 3k for an exhaust?! Do you guys have any dyno results, does it give any extra hp/tq?
There’s no real HP increase from the exhaust and not a massive weight saving. I think it made 9-10whp on an otherwise stock car.
I have a HF cat, wtock exhaust, I like mine how it is. Just adds a little more noise, but no drone and not obnoxious. Could be 10% louder, but not worth the cost of aftermarket

The sound that begin at mark 8:15 is the sound that drives me nut on these cars. It’s like a synthetic robotic hum rather than a deep growl or roar. Surely there is a way to make this new school car sound like an older Honda.
You should remove one of the two resonators further up, like they did for Integra Type-S

Have to agree with you John, those cars exhausts just don't sound good at all. I'm still in the honeymoon phase with my more or less stock AP1 with a Berk HFC and J's Racing 70mm titanium resonated single-exit exhaust. To keep my neighbors from burying me in the woods I never drive it before 9am or after 10pm but VTEC sure sounds amazing.

Good video - would you also consider doing the Front Resonator delete with this? And just leave the middle resonator?

I want to play with my FL5 exhaust but I'm still traumatized by putting a Magnaflow fart can on my 97 ex. It was sooo loud. lol 😅 (Apexi World sport2 was great though.. until it fell apart).

I think the biggest way to make it sound better, believe it or not, is to move the placement of the turbo and utilize and external wastegate. Also if someone faced the exhaust manifold back a bit and trried to make a regular header/manifold that would be dope but an extreme amount of work haha

for a car like this you'd expect a better stock rear caliper.
The more I see the FL5 CTR, the more I realize how overpriced it is…
