    According to many experts in the Xiaomi MI M365 electric scooter, the vast majority of punctures are due to the rubbing of the tire chamber with the inner part of the tire that is very rough and for this purpose talc is usually applied. That product that you use is for the case that the tire is punctured with some sharp object but it does not avoid the inner puncture. Anyway, thanks for the video.

    After injecting the Slime into the inner tube you need to ride the scooter immediately so that the spinning of the tire evenly spreads out the Slime via the centrifugal force outwards. Otherwise it's just going to dry as a glob at the bottom which couldn't be good for the tires overall balance.

    • @BobbyRoa
      @BobbyRoa 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      snackman I don’t think it is going to dry up since basically it’s like you just transferred to another air-tight container. Or will it? :-)

    • @max.t.channel
      @max.t.channel 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you should definitely do it when fixing a puncture, but even after a long ride the slime still collects at the bottom after a few hours standing still, I could see it by uneven wheel balance, then spreads again during the ride

    • @MallV0lli0
      @MallV0lli0 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@max.t.channel then the right thing to do is to add little by little before let's say first 5-6 x km rides

      @@BobbyRoa your argument is invalid since the ''air tight" container still contains...uhm...AIR.

    You ultimately got a good adjustment on the rear break caliber, however I believe you may have gotten there a little faster by trying to true the rotor first. Those appear pretty thin and can easily be bent during factory assembly and shipping. Great job and good end result nonetheless...nice laid back approach and cool heads always prevail...Thanks!

    Just want to mention here that to adjust the brakes, due to rubbing of pads against disc,loosen the 2 mounting bolts (yes they are adjustable) and then slide the whole brake housing around til it stops rubbing. No need to adjust the brake itself. Rest the bottom of the scooter on some books or something, so you can freely spin the wheel to do the above. Hope this helps. Don't forget to really tighten the bolts afterwards!

    Wish I understood how to do all that stuff with the phone but I'm an aged technophobe that only uses my phone to send the odd text. I shall have to get one of the Grandchildren to look after the matter. The Slime's a good idea. I run it in my mountain bike tyres and did use it in my motorcycle too, but it stays liquid and made a hell of a mesh of the tyre tech's machine as well as making it virtually impossible to glue in a sealing mushroom. Doesn't matter with a tubed tyre but not so good in a tubeless one. Nifty little pump you've got, perhaps i'll get one for my backpack.

Unfortunately had to walk it back because there wasn't enough air left in the tube but once I got home, pumped the tire up and let the wheel spin slowly for a minute, it seems to have stopped the air leak and the pressure is holding up! :) Will let it stand overnight to see how effective the slime is.

    Hi There, thanks a lot for the video. Quick question: is it normal that the back wheel shakes/vibrates like that? Mine is doing that and I'm worried that this could unbalance or damage the wheel in the future.

    • @2wheelenthusiast

      Greetings from down under Fabio. I think I know what you mean, it doesn't appear as though the wheel looks balanced? I believe this is normal as I have seen the same thing on other scooters. Leave it set to weak and adjust the rear brake. Leaving it on strong and braking with a full battery can\will put too much of a charge on the battery and ruin it.

  • @bloodchilde
    @bloodchilde 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    This is not how you adjust the brake properly. There are two more screws for setting the proper horizontal alignment of the caliper in relation to the brake disc and also one hidden screw facing the hub of the wheel that sets the passive break pad's distance from the brake disc.

    this is not a firmware upgrade! You just changed a software option. ALSO, for safety, a good thing to do is to turn the rear light on whenever the scooter is in use. This is in the software choices. Good luck using the Mii Home app - you need a login and password which the scooter does not come with unless its in the Chinese packaging. Ninebot is the way to go.

I think the disc is straight, I don't think it was aligned properly to begin with, but there could be several reasons for the rubbing including brake pad adjustment or caliper alignment etc... • @skeelo69
      @skeelo69 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No.... common sense!, do not max your scooter on the pavement, be aware of your surroundings, give pedestrians room, let them know you are approaching , iv'e past Police but i'm moving at a slow pace, yes technically you are not supposed to use them on pavements but like i said use your common sense, it's a particularly grey area using a scooter on the pavement, don't attract attention to yourself by doing stupid things and stay clear of pedestrians and you will be ok.

    • @danny355
      @danny355 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I also ride in London, I just try and be as considerate as possible when using it in crowded areas, try not to piss any pedestrians off. I always overtake people at walking speed and generally cruise if there's anyone anywhere near me on the pavement. I only open it up once I'm well past people and try and ride at speeds that an unpowered scooter would when there's people around. When I see a police car I just slow down and use my foot on the ground to speed up to make it look like it's unpowered :) I did blast past a police car once in the middle of the night when I was riding on the road and they tried to turn around and chase me but I was quite close to home and didn't want to have that conversation so I just floored it and by the time they'd done a u turn and come back down the road I was already in my hallway!

    No way that is the correct relation size of the wheel / slime. You put actually the amount for a 26". There is no point of trying to replace the most of the air of the Tyre with slime. And the sound of the break, you can do it 100x easier by reseating the break mechanism. The mounting at the factory seems to be wonky. I did it in 2 minutes, issue solved. Sorry, but if you put an instructional on TH-cam, research first.

    • @nicofieuhome
      @nicofieuhome 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      how to "reseat" the break mechanism then ? I have that noise and I'm about to follow the instruction in this video

    • @psychomarto
      @psychomarto 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Look at the break mechanism from the top. You'll notice two screws that hold the mechanism in place. Undo those just enough you can start move the break. 1 turn or so should do it. Then start movin each en of the break either towards the wheel or in the opposite direction in order to get it straight. Best is you catch a torch and illuminate between the break disk and the two break... hum... tabs? The parts that are pressed against the disk when actioning the break, you'll notice those if you press the break: the mechanism will push one of those against the break disk, kinda clamping the disk then between those. Long story short, the break mechanism is off-position and that will align it better. One thing: if in case that it's so bably allign and misconfigured in your case, there is a bolt on the side facing the wheel, get a thin allen and looking through the wheel at the mechanism, you'll notice that bolt. loose the bolt a bit to get more clearance between the break "thingies" that I failed to name above. If it's still bad, apply the method in the vid. Remember, this las tip and the one in the vid WILL decrease the breaking capabilities by at least a small amount. Hope I could somehow explain it well. written sounds like rocket science, but once you see it, it's 5 min tops. Cheers!

      @10billionviewsorless42 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      El Marto is right. This is the way i did it. The two screws from the top, then you can move the mechanism toward or away from the wheel. Adjust with fractions of a millimeter. What this instruction video teaches you to do, is to make the brake less efficient... which is really not what you want to do with a brake! There are pictures on the internet, just google if you don't know which screws we're talking about.

      Hi Dirtyb1rd, as far as I'm aware, there shouldn't be any passwords set unless you set it yourself and forgot?

      Thanks Sandy, I'm over 1500km in and have not had any further issues with the brake pad or disk. Has been running smoothly without any rubbing and stopping strong. :) Ofcourse, this is only in my circumstance, if you have a serverly warped disc, it will need to be straightened out or replaced.

      Thanks for checking in. I can report that since the first puncture I have not had to replace the tube as yet. I have seen some slime ooze from the rim a little which, I believe is an indicator the tube did get a puncture but the pressure has held up and 1500km in without having to change the tube so far. Checked the pressure the other day and still sitting at 45 psi. So far I'm happy and impressed.

    *WARNING: DO NOT TRY TO INSTALL THE SLIME!* that product is a complete fraud, that is nigh impossible to install. you (along with your living room carpet) will be wearing it, not the tire. there are a handful of m365 videos on yt that feature this product, the whole affair is rather dubious. it does not install nearly as smooth as they portray and the instructions are garbage. this product reeks of flea market gimmick duplicity designed to snare you of your precious time and energy.

    hmmm are u a dude or a girl ? why would u slime the tube ?

    • @2wheelenthusiast
      @2wheelenthusiast  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dudette!..The slime is to prevent punctures. If you are unfortunate enough to get a puncture the slime should quickly block the hole and allow you to go on your merry way rather than have to pull apart the wheel, tyres and tubes. Highly recommended.

      from what she said, the slime is active inside the tube , it would auto seal a puncture , hmmm would love to see some test done on it , anyone willing to sacrifice ? lol

      Techtablets here on TH-cam got a flat early on and put slime in. He's reported the slime has worked since. Check his videos.

      thats when he got a flat then he added slime ? now the scenario is , when you get a flat with slime inside , does it seal up when you pull the nail out ?
