Aight after endless video watching on how to do tapers, I finally found this video without needing a 0 guard or a .5, and the way you explain it is so simple and doesn’t overwhelm me. I have real curly hair on top so ima just use a #4 to go around my head first and then follow the rest of the steps. Hopefully it comes out good I’ve never cut my hair before so I’m nervous but this video makes me feel less nervous 🤣💯 Good video bro

what if i don't have a 1 guard? my trimmer with a lever only has 3 6 9 and 12 the one without a lever goes from 1.5 2 3 and 4

So when your attacking the line.. do you use the full blade it looks like your using the sides kinda like a pencil ✏️
That's exactly what you should do to prevent your clippers from leaving a harsh line
Tried it and it was an absolute failure lol. Lighting and getting that right angle of view is so important. I’ll try again next time.
At least you've tried! I have failed so many times for the first few times. Trust me, overtime you get better, keep trying the way it works for you!!
what does the lever do when you move it ?
It changes the spacing between two blades. If the lever is open, the space widens between the blades which cut longer length. When the lever is closed, the blades cut shorter length.

Everytime I use my clipper without the guard it’s always hot and burns my skin anything I can do to prevent this?
Did you oil your clipper well before you use them?

Yes also use no guard open since you can not erase the line completely with #1 closed

I say start with taper fade because you can always revive taper but normal fade would be tough if u mess up
