Mam, Excellent video. Really helpful. One question, I tried it and published into a web. It's working. I checked the tableau dataset and they are updating every day. Is our chart would automatically update? How to make it live every day?
Since its a WDC whenever you refresh the report, the data will get refreshed. If you need advanced refresh options outside the report, then you will need a server.
Thanks for this fascinating exercise. I had completed it a few weeks back - worked as shown. I've one query though, I tried speeding up the animation to 'fast'; it renders fine on my Tableau Desktop Public (2020.2.1), but every time I save it to my Tableau Public profile it defaults to the originally saved speed (medium). Kindly help/clarify if there's something wrong or different that I am doing.
Nice Tutorial.. Very Helpful. I just wanted to know when we connect the data through Web Data connector does it take time ?? Please help with it. Because when I am connecting the Excel the dates are shuffling in the race and cumulative dates are not coming in the bar chart. So wanted to try this with the Web Data. Thanks in advanced
@@AIEngineeringLife I am fetching Covid Data only. But it is taking a lot time for connecting andngoing into worksheet. I am facing issue in cummulative counts. Can you help me out on it ! Its taking per day count only and it should take cummulative as shown in your video. Please guide me up on this Thanks
@@AIEngineeringLife Yes I managed to smooth the transition, is it possible to make the intermidiate numbers running in a fast pace,as we see in such videos, in tableau only numbers present in excel sheets are shown, not running intermediates, thanks in advance.
Hello. I tried to follow your tutorial for the race bar chart, the only thing that is not working is the rank, the values of the countries are increasing according to the value and the year but the position in the graphic remains fixed ( The countries are ordered in alphabetical order by default ). the rank formula is this one: RANK_UNIQUE(SUM([cases]),'desc'). do you have perhaps have an email to show you what's happening? what can I change in order to make the highest countries appear on the top? I appreciate your help. thanks
Hi Ferran, Can you check if there is a sort on the Country? You also see the country under color in Marks card. Can you right-click > Sort > Sort by Field > select it as the sum of cases> and descending. Let me know if you have any issues. Thank you.
Hi @Aiman! Please check the tableau page. Let me know if you are looking for any other infor public.tableau.com/profile/vidhya.sathy#!/vizhome/CoronovirusRacingBarChart/CoronovirusRacingBarChart
My SUM(cases) in the column is showing data in millions instead of hundreds of thousands. The number of cases in the country is exceeding the population of the country in some cases. I followed the same procedure can't figure out why is this happening
Have you added the day(date) to the pages? The cases are a running sum, so you may have to check for each date which can be done by adding the day(date) to pages.
Hello i am facing an issue .. when i put cases into columns its not showing me bars ... tried everything but not successfull ... please help me what i am not getting bars .. i am using latest version
Can you please retrace your step from the beginning and make sure there is proper data in the datasource. You can apply filters to ensure the values your are expecting is displayed and then go in for all the data.
@@AIEngineeringLife yes all steps are perfect .. and yes data is also there... everything is perfects except bars ... bars are not showing ,, dont know why
I am not at all satisfied with Tableau's animation while creating a racing bar chart. Don't you think flourish bar chart race is far better than this? Tableau's animation is absolutely nothing....so bad..
I am learning how to use Tableau and this was the most detailed tutorial that I found on TH-cam. Thanks a lot!
Super helpful, thank you!
thanku for Showing Annotation option
Awesome 👏✊👍
This racing bar chart is quite interesting and looks cool
This was really helpful video. Thanks.

Your source be linked to that tableau meta data ( Google sheet or Web data). Them it will automatically get updated

Interesting method to create them! I still use R and some packages, the mechanic is the same. Still its looking different!
i wish if you could do this a bit slow, explaining the process of the app itself. only because its my first time experience with Tableau..
Sure will slow down a bit from next video but for now can u try with youtube setting of 0.9x speed. Sorry for that

Hi Mayur, it depends of the volume of data you are pulling out of WDC. It took me close to 3 mins to load with the new data. Hope that helps.

thankyou, but the final bars are not running as smooth as we watch on some vids, whats the reason for that?
Hi Anees.. Do you mean speed of it or something else?.. You can fine tune the setting is it is speed that might show smoother transition

One can increase speed of preview in tableau. This was kept low for demonstration

Nice tutorial. But how can I add a cumulative total just below the date that will change with the date.
The easiest way is to add the summary card.

Is it in tableau WDC?. Tableau might be refreshing WDC with latest data sometimes. Can you try in sometime?
I use a different software please check it out , but this is very interesting.
Is Tableau free to use?
It is not but for learning one can download community edition. This is more applicable for organization that have invested in tableau
@@AIEngineeringLife thank you. Wanna learn Tableau
It is for free Madam
Tableau offers a 14 day trial for free and the Tableau community edition ( Tableau public) is free for learning and exploring.
