One of the best videos I've seen. I know this is 4 years old but for a started like me, it really changed my approach to visualizations of maps and how to make them look amazing! Idk if you'll get this comment but I'm a huge fan now. If there are similar videos to stunning maps using pages etc please free to link then. And again thank you for this amazing video :)
I just picked up learning Tableau maybe 2 weeks ago for the sole purpose of building a territory dashboard (though fully expect to use Tableau for other things in the future). Being an extreme novice and only playing around with this for a net 3 or so hours (and maybe 4 hours of Tableau essentials training online), this video hit the spot perfectly for me. Nice job.
What a great video! Thank you for the excellent content. I love it. I have so many ideas now to create maps of my own. Thank you for the effort you put into the video ❤
Thank you for making the video. Does anyone think that the nature of the public version shows up your data sources automatically. Or is it only what you PUBLISH at some point? I saw that it linked to all available data sources when I allowed the app access on my mac.
I am having an issue using long/lat to make a map. When i enter the coordinates but it places all the markers in one spot in Antarctica. Any idea what i am doing wrong?
Its so easy when we present everything for USA, i struggle a lot to highlight boroughs of London, tried through Nuts Europe Geographical Role but they are combining some of them, all i can do its leave points on map for each one how can i create map of London then split to boroughs ? I have only boroughs dimension in dataset
Hello, I’m working on the tableau maps but I can’t seem to find state and country under the data. I only have the measures and longitude and latitude. Do you know where I can find it?
i love your work , can u make video on step by step videos on hex heat map , astounding and also general heat map. Also make videos onhow to take the data from our webstie and then how to paste the same in our website. i am struggling to save cost.
Thanks for your comment. The link in description is working. vizual.consulting/tableaumaps when you go to the link you can enter your name and email. Once you do that you will get download link in your email. let me know if you have any problem.
Hi, Tyler! I just watched a tutorial( th-cam.com/video/54Bao2IneKA/w-d-xo.html) from another user using the makepoint and makeline functions to do make similar maps as you created here. I was wondering why the other method was able to created curved lines along surface of the globe (for airplane data) and lines that traced the street network (instead of just straight lines from start to stop points - for bus route data). Any insight you have would be wonderful
just wanted to say this was the best, concise and informative tutorial! thx
This definitely helped me stand out during my internship! Thank you!

How many axis can add to one map?
Very nice, one question: why dual axis maps not working when used for filter action? Tried to do it to show the details, but not working somehow.
On the button of the filter action box you have to pick what field you want your action to filter
