I love how this boss fight also showcases our scientific understanding of T. rex back in 1994 compared to today. It was once thought that Tyrannosaurus had scaly skin and questionable eyesight. We now know that it had a titanium chassis and laser vision!
The whole time I was playing this game, it felt like a legit game and not a tech demo. The Tech-Demo T-Rex double boss fight was simply the icing on the cake. Just all of the content and features made it feel like the old days with the PS1 when you had an entire game and extra stuff was unlockable. The Boss Fight was amazing and I was invested the entire time through the whole game as well.
Tyrannosaurus: *_”I HAVE SPENT THE LAST…_* uh, how long ago was it? (“23 years!”) Thank you, Mr. Stephen. *_23 YEARS! FOR THE LAST 23 LONG YEARS, I HAVE TRAVELED TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH, SEARCHING FOR A WORTHY OPPONENT! WHO DARES CHALLENGE ME?!?”_* Astro: “Wus poppin,’ T? Heard you was lookin’ for a ‘challenge.’” Tyrannosaurus: _screams in terror at the sight of this insurmountable obstacle_
I refuse to believe Astro's Playroom is just a "Tech Demo". It's honestly more than that. I mean-COME ON, Sony managed to add a BOSS FIGHT in a game that's supposedly made for showcasing the PS5's features as well as PlayStation's story. Nevertheless, I have mixed emotions seeing PS1 - PS5 graphics in one shot. The memories man, goddamn.
I remember when my dad showed me the ps1 as a kid when I didn’t know what video games were. Years later my dad watched me playing against the same Dino from his past and he just smiled and said “so that’s how you unlock the full game”
Well this is cool, never dormant for me, I’ve been listening to the track ever since I first heard it. I think out of every song I own, it’s my longest liked one.
when i saw this rex for the first time i was like: "oh its a t rex thats cool" but when i saw its second form i said "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING?!" mainly cause i never saw a robot t rex before
While I'm not a fan of how Playstation has been taking their IP's (the cinematic approach), I fell in love with Astro's Playroom. The game doesn't feel like it should be made today lmao. Hopefully we get more sequels and maybe fight Mr. Polygon.
It's a game with 4 worlds plus and end world. It's very short, but longer than an average tech demo. It's fun, and free, so I'd recommend checking it out.
Especially when it comes to shutting down Japan Studio, the brilliant first-party studio who was with the PlayStation from the very beginning, putting out all of great Japanese-made games on the PS family like PaRappa the Rapper, Arc the Lad, Wild ARMs, Ape Escape, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, LocoRoco, Patapon, Gravity Rush, Puppeteer, and Knack.

Not to mention flame breath & missiles flying out of its mouth.
Still can’t beat *_ONE_* Astro-Bot, however…
Yup
Not to mention that Jurassic Park, obviously, had a big part of how it was modeled
Okay, completely surprised to find when searching for the old demo that they put the t rex in as a boss for this game. Bloody brilliant 👏
Is this an easter egg?
@@qwerttzizzi one of many. There are many call backs some subtle.
Absolutely, this game is a gem ❤️
The floor is also a reference to a different puzzle game that was in a demo disc
It’s A Tougher Boss Than Polygon Man From PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale!
Astros Playroom had more love and care put into it than the PlayStation Classic

it *is* a legit game...? The "tech demo" in the title comes from the fact that this is a reference to the PS1 T-Rex tech demo...
@@blah7645 He's referring to Astro's Playroom feeling like a complete game instead of a tech demo.
@@MichaelM28 bruh
@@blah7645 no Astros playroom is basically just a playable tech demo
after staying dormant for 23 years, astro enters into t rex tech demo and the dinosaur is still as angry as ever

I remember seeing the PS1 tech demo back in '97. The T-Rex was very impressive!
I almost lost it here when I was playing this. One of my new favorite final bosses in video games. Shows how much has changed in the past 25 years.

Like polygon man From Playstation All Stars?
The game is not a tech demo. The boss in the video is from a PSX tech demo disk called Demo 1 from the 90s.
Ikr, and when you find the artefact for the dualshock 4 it's kinda sad
@@DingusJoe64 The game is a tech demo. It was made to show users that features of the dualsense controller.
Actually, where is Polygon Man?
I love that his textures flicker as they did in the demo.

I'm so glad the OG T-Rex has returned.
Not for long
I love how , not only does it pay homage to its IPs but it also pays homage to Astro Bot Rescue Mission.
Ok, who ever did this game.
You are amazing!
The fact someone decided to make the most unique(for it time) demo into a full length boss is amazing.
Agreed!
all those years walking just to be destroyed by a tiny robot

Wait why?

Man i love astro bot so much! The rescue mission vr game is the greatest game

Polygon Man fought you in Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, now it's the T-Rex's turn to take a shot at you!
as someone who grew up with only nintendo consoles, this game was a beautiful tribute to Sony’s gaming history
It was really the reverse for me getting Smash Ultimate on the Switch lol
I'm switching from the switch to PS5, I'm glad that they have respect with the first demo from PS1
Breath fire like grimlock
Tech demo vs tech demo.
I’ve tried this 20x and still fail.
I love how the platform you fight T-Rex on has a similarity to Kurushi
They made him wobbly, like PS1 graphics!
Lol how they went for a Astro bit rescue mission like boss fight
This looks incredible
Wtf, how has this never reached me? Kurushi and the tech demo rex in a boss stage is not something I would ever connect omg
that t-rex is huge! bro
i like how its the same boss battle theme from rescue mission
Looks like the T-rex from Dino crisis 1
It’s actually the T Rex from PlayStation’s original tech demo.
Lol, what's up with the t Rex's eyes after he bites down? Lol
This probably shouldn’t be horrifying. But it is.
Don't worry!: The demo is not creepy the owner of Astro's playroom try to make it creepy and the demo exists.
The dino at start Is what u play as and all u do is walk but in this u fight him and his secret brother
yep
looks like a cool game
Whut, this is completely different with Dino, Walle in an Intelligence PS1.
My friend actually did this in the EXACT same way you did this LOLOLOL 😂

The boss is called T-Rex Tech Demo because it is from a demo disc for the PS1
Ye lol
@@Smokeslair I played both boss parts but still sometimes died💀
Why its not grabbing the cup for me man
the best part of the original tech demo is the music.. and it doesn't have it??
Were there any Kingdom Hearts references in SSD Speedway?
Its so hard imo
Hehe astros playroom is a peacfull game not to know that this is the ending
Why not using the og theme tho
I love
I have the PlayStation 5 and I know how to get in the boss battle you go down stares and go in the simble and you have to finish all the levels
J'ai fini tous le jeux astro playroom en une journée mem le dinosaur est le dinosaur robot
inst this that the walking dinosaur in the black void
Yes
Respekt 👍😄
Piss take level this
momo
The game was such a love letter to playstation. Sadly it was the last one as Playstation seems intent on self destruction now.
