  • Josh Pate took a listener question on this week's Late Kick Extra podcast about which College Football stadium and game day atmosphere he thinks is the most underrated. Aside from the more well known venues around the sport, can the case be made for Williams Brice Stadium in South Carolina as being the most underrated not only in the SEC but in all of College Football? Have you been to any game day environments where the actual product caught you off guard relative to the reputation you had heard heading in? Are there some stadiums and game day atmospheres you may even find a bit overrated? As a Georgia fan I have to agree that William-Brice is a heck of a game day atmosphere. One of the best that I've been to on the road, I haven't been to LSU or Bama yet. I was at the 2012 game and that place was literally shaking. The first time they played Sand Storm that night...my God! My ears were ringing by the end of first quarter.

Brother, at the 12 game vs GA, we tailgated with both Gamecock and Dawg fans. One of the Dawgs with us said to me, "Yall are gonna destroy us tonight, this is the beat game day atmosphere I've ever personally attended." I said, the compliment was nice, but the game still has to be played. He restated what he said, and told me to count myself as fortunate to be at the game. Turns out, he was right.

Clemson grad who grew up in Columbia. Irmo high school!! Williams Bryce is an insane atmosphere, and the fans are rowdy, the stadium actually shakes during sandstorm.
I believe it was the 2012 Clemson vs Carolina game. Carolina won and like 3 people got stabbed after the game 😂.

Why not something for this 2023 season? On the road that the gamecocks are heading down now, even though they ended up better than what anyone expected, it almost feels like the Steve Spurrier era. Makes you wonder who was behind some of that…👀

S car may have the highest ratio of fanbase passion to on-field success in the country. Very passionate fanbase. A reality Clemson fans enjoy very much.

It gets loud there. But the loudest noise heard during a game at Williams Brice occurs midway through the third quarter....when you can hear a massive amount of car doors slamming!
