Train #1 - Amtrak Southwest Chief #4, with P42DC #192 in the lead sporting a decent K5LA.
Train #2 - BNSF Power move featuring 11 locomotives.
Train #3 - BNSF Freight Train, with GEVO #7159 in the lead.
Train #4 - Amtrak Southwest Chief #3 running over 13 hours late !!! BNSF GEVO #8238 leading, and P42DC #171, & 161 following. This is the second Southwest Chief at the same location in under an hour !!!
Train #5 - BONUS SHOT !!! - Santa Ana, CA (Santa Ana Blvd. / Station) Amtrak #790 Amfleet set, with P42DC Phase 1 Heritage Unit #156 in the lead. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Truly great railroad photography, particularly the sound! Some of the best I’ve seen.
Sweet collection of videos are you able to get video of the switching action in local freight yards. Sometimes you just cannot beat watching a train being built.

Hakeem Mulholland BNSF is the successor of Santa Fe and Burlington Northern railroad , so they worked together and made this company, just like the good ole' days of CSX and NS forming Conrail.

Yeah, most of these trains including the Southwest Chief have a lot of engine problems, especially when climbing up mountains.
If the freight trains need more than two engines to go up the mountains, wouldn't it make sense to use three or more on passenger trains?
i saw that train pass through kansas city, missouri. i was excited to see the bnsf unit leading the passenger amtrak.

Sounds like the first Unit broke down. And had to find a replacement.
I'm just curious as to how much more power the BSNF engine has vs. an Amtrak engine that it's presumable that one BNSF could pull 9 amtrak cars but it takes at least two Amtrak engines to pull the same amount of cars?
e952ct They do the same with the Auto Train, 2 engines pulling 16 Superliners and over 20 auto rack cars, it doesn't really make sense.
e952ct the bnsf one has 4400hp i believe and the amtrak 4250hp
But amtrak is actually faster than BNSF Tho.

manuels89 the lead p42dc was probably broken down so some engineers probably helped with a gevo to keep the train moving

Is there a rule that trains have to be on a specific track, because I noticed, that the first train in the video was going on the left side.
Mr. AWESOME!!! Usually on a 2 track main, there is a north track on the right and south on the left, and same with east/west, east on the right, west on the left, it all depends on which way the train is heading. Or it's the other way around?

I'm confused (not unusual). If you've got two Southwest Chiefs within one hour, one must be either 23 hours behind, or 23 hours ahead, or one is 12 hours early, right? So thirteen hours behind schedule should be two Southwest Chiefs within eleven hours. And yes, I can see BNSF delaying an Amtrak train 23 hours.
The first SWC departed Fullerton on time around 7pm, Second SWC was originally suppose to get into Fullerton around 6:50am, arrived at about 7:47pm.
Aha, I didn't catch that one SWC was eastbound, and the other westbound. Solves my confusion. Doh!
