Here are the best train catches I caught in the month of January 2014 thru December 2014. Lots and lots of horn action in this clip. I hope y'all enjoy this video.
Wow!! I really love this video about the locomotives, the train horn and the heritage unit!! To be honest this 2014 video was really the best one that I love about the heritage unit and the train horn!
That one train with 11 engines but no railcars connected to them is a cool rare site. Imagine seeing that many engines hooked up together at a railroad crossing, it'll make you think there's 1,000 or more railcars behind them.
My favorite two parts of this video are when NS SD40-2 6173 and the C40-9 appear while second fave is the mammoth train with CP 8876 in the lead. LOVE YOUR VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice video. That first clip, I have NEVER seen such a ditch light setup on the front of a loco before. Oh and that horn on the ol Santa Fe at 1:20. Love it. If you have not gotten a tripod yet, then I would highly suggest that.
I love doing retrospectives like this sometimes... it seems like there are so many engines/paint schemes/etc I used to just take for granted, but now so many of them are gone for one reason or another. It always makes you glad you were there recording it all while it was happening. (In particular, it was nice hearing a few first gen K5LLAs in this comp. It's been years now since I've heard one)
This video is just AMAAAZING!!! I knew from looking at the title that some of the catches would be really oldies, but I would never have guessed that you could still catch some of those like the un-patched Southern Pacific 192, and the Santa Fe SD75M 206!! Another thing, some of these trains appeared to be doing at least 70 mph =- ) =- ) It was great seeing you out there yesterday on 17A!!! Hope to see you again, but we'll see how it all goes with my homeschool and when you come through.
Actually, both SP 192 & ATSF 206 are Patched SP/UP 192: Once you see 192 rounding the curve, you'd think that he was still with SP, But if you pause the video at 4:28, when it shows the side of the cab, look at the bottom of the cab, there's a YELLOW panel on it, which means that UP had already acquired SP 192, they just didn't put their road number on it or put their yellow box & UP Shield cover on the SP ATSF/BNSF 206: look at the Road number at 5:09, it has a patch on the first number that was on it (which was 8) & look on the bottom of the road number, under it, is Patched on BNSF on it/Fun Fact: This Engine Along with the rest of them were leased to PRLX
