The trailer is the best thing this game offered.
I didn't even like it actually. Feels like the small vids don't do the Universe justice. I did like the Marines versus the Witch in DoW II.
However bad a 40k game is the orks always make sure it's at least slightly enjoyable.

Nah, it was a novelty gift at that point. Same thing when Captain Bluddflag stole the Inquisitor Andrastia's hat at the end of his story. Even if all your boyz die and your machines turned to scrap after killing an enemy, a good Ork at least gets what they came for before leaving.

Gorgutz wasn't angry enough, in all honesty all the ork dialog was too passive and mushy, not Orky at all.
well to be far he proved to more crafty than angry. He's more towards Mork, Cunning but brutal. at least in this game, if he's a reaccuring character that has proven more towards gork than ok.
Super pointy stick actually was funny and had me laughing
I actually really enjoyed this. I liked how the Space Marines were not the 'main' focus but instead the Eldar. The Orks were less annoying and at least he got he's pointy stick.
I f**king love that the one thing that peaks Gorgutz's interest isn't being the strongest. Isn't killing an Eldar lord. It's having a "Super pointy stikk". I love Gorgutz.
I love how the Blood Ravens actually destroyed the relic instead of just stealing it and pretending it was destroyed before using it and claiming it was a gift from the inquisition. So out of character
the only thing grimdark about this is how the developers butchered the game

And they paid dearly for it. The game struggled to make even 70,000 sales on release on Steam and the community is essentially dead less than 2 months after the game's release, for a game that focused entirely on the multiplayer aspect.
This is what happens when you ignore what the fans actually want and make a butchered mess of a game that feels like an LoL and Starcraft knock-off and betrays what the franchise stands for in order to appeal to as wide an audience as possible: nobody is happy with the end product and nobody wins.
I actually bought DOW3.
I still prefer to watch this than actually slog my way through the game. That's how un-fun it is.

When you see him, Gorgutz seems like he is old when he walks. Granted that he got more experienced over the years, it is like: Damn Gorgutz, how old are you by the imperium calendar?
Orks don't get old. They just grow bigger.
Angry historian we don't actually know, all the orks that the imperium know died from fighting before getting enough old to suffer such effects. So maybye orks can get old, especially if you consider that there body is made to fight and fight long enough to win, not to survive in a long period

Orks don't care what they have to do if there's something of value to them they will get it no matter the cost. Gorgutz wanted the spear, he got the spear hell i wouldn't be surprised if some random Gretchen tried to nab it Gorgutz would of pounded it dead.

I've found that MANY people are disappointed with DoW3 (myself included), and I think the reason is because DoW3 isn't the same as DoW2 (DoW2 had loot, lots of Macro-gameplay and less of a focus on heroes, than DoW3). But people who like DoW3 didn't like DoW2, so it's really just a personal preference thing imo. DoW3 isn't a bad game at all; It just simply isn't what DoW2 was, and I think many people just wanted another DoW2 (myself included). But there's hope for DoW3 yet, because currently there's only 3 races, and they plan on releasing atleast 3 more races (as they did with DoW2, in the form of DLC/expansions). So hopefully those new races and perhaps more campaigns will make the game worth the $60
That was true. I don't like DoW2 but I like DoW3 so much but I'm still spending 200+ hours in both games but I'm gonna spend beyond that for DoW3. Pro players also enjoyed the game so I think the game wasn't that bad as people think.
DoW2 actually had lots of micro gameplay. Macro gameplay in DoW2 was nearly non-existant.
They Should just hire DOW1's Ultimate Apocalypse team for DOW4 or an expansion if one comes out...they actually managed to pull off a game that resembled 40k...

So a Warcraft scenario, with a Diablo ending, with a 40k design...... Glad I didnt spend my money there, I cant wait to serve the Emperor properly.

Warcraft and StarCraft have a different direction and tone compared to Warhammer. I don't think Blizzard made RIP offa.
And to bè fair, Warhammer has always been a big pastiche of 2000 comics and various Military Science Fiction stories.

It is actually kind of depressing how regular ork boyz are as strong and tough as tactical space marines in the tabletop.

Yeah, they used proper sentence structure way too much. And they kept saying "war" instead of "Waagh", and a lot of other instances of speech far too indirect and complex to be your bog-standard ork. That's their whole shtick: they talk like they're the least educated people you've ever met, who may or may not be borderline retarded. They're brutish, violent, simple, and brutally direct. Nobody but a warboss should use filler phrases or bridges like "as for (name)", and even then it should only be a segue to a threat.
The Orks in DoW3 remind me a lot of the Orks in Deff Sqwaddron. They're perfect.
Low quality animatics on a 60 dollar title? Man, what part of this game justifies the asking price.

A Craftworld Eldar Warlord with a personal army... Eldar supported by a Farseer being surprised by the presence of Orks... An Inquisitor thinking he has authority over Adeptus Astartes and talking big to a Chapter Master... Orks having a relatively civilized conversation without any punching or shooting...
This game doesn't just have problems with the gameplay, but also with the Lore.

I hear a lot of complaints about the story and gameplay. Honestly, all I really wanted was to hear Angelos give a heartfelt apology to Macha for not listening to her and destroying the malidictum. (I really REALLY want to see the eldar and humans work more with each other) Got what I came for.
Aslo Gorgutz is funny again. Yay.

Even if I would love to have Blizzard made the cinematic, I have to admit this Campain isn't as bad as I expected. I like the story and the character (the old and the new)

Not saying it ain't bad, but I'm fairly used to hearing that kind of hamfisted statement from members of the Adeptus Astartes.

Yea, ignoring stilted voiceacting (compared to DOW 1), uninspired dialouge and generally mediocre presentation, the story... or the plot i should say, is more interesting than most of the DOW games.

Austin Bemister It is interesting that someonemade one Eldar leader so hell bent on getting more power. I could have sworn Eldar are a little above that.
You don't know the Eldar then! They would fight each other if a Prophecy said that one of their own was gonna bring ruin onto an entire craftworld while the other had a Prophecy that called them to protect the very craftworld the other sides Prophecy said that one of the other side was gonna end up putting in danger.
They wouldn't have a petty war on a planet about it, they would have the Council of Seers convene and decide which is true, and an Autarch (who is just a battle commander, not a craftworld leader) would listen to them and do as he was told.
Autarchs aren't warlords that can send forces where they want.
It's straight up the opposite of what an Autarch is. They aren't warlords with their own armies, they're commanders that are sent by the seers to orchestrate the craftworld's warhosts.
To be fair, Biel-Tan always has very arrogant and brutal Autarch. Farseer have lesser power on this Craftworld unlike Ulthwe or Altansar.
And considering Kyre sought he could save the entire race by recovering the Spear, it justifies the sacrifice for him. After all, Yvraine almost entirely destroyed Biel-Tan in ordrer to summon the Yncarne (even if the Infinity Matrix of the Craftworld was already doomed, so she just kick the Masque out of it by summoning Ynnead).
My fucking God not even 30 minutes through and I'm already despising everything but the orks, who are entertainingly British (yes I'm British) But dear god I hate the inconsistencies from Dow 2... Jonah is dead, why tf is he back? Diomedes practically confirmed this during the final mission, and then bam here he is again with almost no explanation as to how. Diomedes is way to sarcastic now 'oh you play politics, I'll purge this planet' I don't think he would EVER regard angelos like that, no tarkus, unless he is in the video later and I'm just impatient before making my criticisms but eldar are involved in this, and where there's eldar tarkus is normally there beating each one over the head with his bolter individually. Oh and angelos is shit now... He's doing backflips in terminator armour ffs... I brought this up to a GW employee as an experiment to see how they'd justify something so bs, and they actually tried!!! They told me that becuase 'oh cybernetic enhancements terminators aren't actually slow blah blah' the fucking DARK ANGELS CODEX says that they are lumbering brutes, slow and unwieldy but like a sledgehammer, useful through just brutal efficiency...
Anyway, that's my rant nowhere near over and done with, but I'm sick of typing this and I'm going to go back to the willing torture that is watching this train wreck, have a good one! (Or don't?)

Overall a good job, but the characters didn't make anywhere near enough references to previous games in the series. as such they came across as 2D. Their parting at the end was wordless. the 'demon' in the ice was huge, but in the boss battle was relatively small ?! The sacrifice of the ship somehow seemed underwhelming. It would of been awesome if it directly smashed into the demon itself.
The planet is just a planet, it didn't need to explode. A boss battle against a weakened demon that rose up *even though a fucking ship smashed it* and then all 3 spontaneously decide to ally, would of been better.
Didn't pay attention did you? The ship smashed into the planet and destabilized it's already unstable core. The planet's explosion weakened the newly released demon to the point it had to take on a smaller size and form before regaining strength. Plus of course the three just left wordless at the end, there was no need to fight anymore since the point of coming to the planet and stopping the demon was finished.
My cinematic is cooler.
You know it's a bad sign when even the subtitles of the opening cinematic contain errors. It's 'throes' of rage, not 'throws' ...
add last batlle scene on every fight, not just the end scene please
The video would have been significantly longer if I had to add 20-30secs of every battle before a cinematic. I've uploaded all 9hours of the singleplayer gameplay (in the description), if you want to see the battles that lead up to the cinematics / cutscenes.
Moral of the story: Always get the pointy stick.

I actually do see true value in the game even if others don't, as a Warhammer 40k fan, the story is actually very good. I plan on getting it despite what others say because I love games like these and the Warhammer 40k franchise

anyone else notice the small detail on how the orks said war in the subtitles a few times and not Waaagh! I thought waaagh was a catch all term for all conflict and they don't have words like war or charge because of it.
why couldn't they just take example from dark crusade and the other games. have more of a choice of races like tau and necrons. that and why not just make a good stories line from each side and their goals? and the orks here just don't seem like orks.

What Eldar is your favourite? Mine's so clearly Farseer Taldeer. The only Dawn of War game I've ever played was Dark Crusade. Taldeer was a badass. I love how she still exists. Go Taldeer! Cut down your foes like a hot knife cuts through butter!

also macha and angelos basically have the same story, somewhat renegade heroes defying the orders of their shady leaders to do what they believe is right.
Maybe I'm crazy, but a fleet-borne space marine chapter's battle barge is not a kamikaze bomb.
It might be that all that tonnage is needed to crack the planet open, and a more controlled bombardment cannot be done in time.
one of the voices I heard sounds like Mark Strong... not sure who it was, i was listening to this in the background
