Love how Matt gets so frustrated just like all of us when working on cars. I see why he details cars instead of working on them and installing parts🤣

To get the seat sliding without any issues - There is the need to screw all of four bolts to the floor only in 90%.
Allow the seat to find its position.
But first You need to count the teeth on both sliders.
On both there is the need to keep equal number of them.
Then You are sure both rails are in the same position.
If one of rails is in wrong position - You still can slide, but You will have serious friction while movement. (we can see that in this video).
If all works nice - You can start screwing the bolts into 100% - starting from rear one, next to centerconsole , then front one net to centerconsole, and then two on door side.
We use these brackets in our cars, we install these to customers cars here in Poland, and we didn't find any issues while installation, movement, and further usage.

What tool did you use to screw the rear torx bolts in? that just looked like a standard torx with an standard extension or did it have a slight angle on it? Sorry I couldnt really tell. I have this to look forward to it the next couple of weeks. Looks a b'stard job and no doubt I'll be cursing more than you were 🙂@@ObsessedGarage

Fits perfectly rear-facing in our truck, which has a slightly smaller back seats. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx6_FKRYB2ClSPRyjcd8HptiCS3EiQoNX4 Feels as comfy and plush as our Graco Contender carseat.

Matt, I got my amx seats a few months ago for the green Hell IND M3. After seeing your oem bmw recaro install, I was concerned about seat height with AMX seats. I got used to the sparco race buckets that came in my car from original build. I was concerned they new AMX seats would replicate the oem seat height. With AMX, they asked lots of questions about seat height, and they actually sat lower than the sparcos. So awesome.
Mine came with all the plugs, which they included because I told them I didn't have the oem original seats. So a little life hack, tell AMX you don't have the original seats and install is a lot easier.
I was so impressed with AMX, their communication, the installation was plug and play. Even through the Ukrainian war issues with tons of overflow coming into Poland. Also, for the cost of a tip to their employees, they do rush jobs. Amazing craftsman. I havent put a battery yet to it, still waiting on the Dinan stroker motor.
From a weight standpoint, I gained 20 lbs per seat over the carbon sparco buckets with brackets. My new amx seats were 43 lbs, I believe the oem seats are 55 or so lbs. Factory are over 70. I gained some weight, but adjustability and better egress. More street car, less race car.
Thanks for the video. So real.I'm surprised you didn't just have AMX match the design of the OEM+ Recaro performance seats. They have done it many times. But seeing end of video, the seats do look seamlessly oem, and call no attention to themselves by nothing other than their form.
On my AMX seats I was very surprised to see bmw part numbers all over the place. Even on rails. Obviously specific to the e92, but how or why there would be BMW parts numbers, I have no idea, maybe from some race car program lol.
Pretty sweet to get these AMX seats, they meet all your expectations of aesthetic, and fit, and you get to cash out of those priced like gold Recaro Performance OEM seats. My guess is over $6k per seat, maybe more. I heard rumors when I researched they were close to $9k per seat when the last remaining were sold.....

I have these Recaro Sportster CS seats in my Audi S5 ; you can adjust the tightness of the slides ; they are tight because they are binding. Loosen all four mounting bolts slightly (ie bolts from sliders TO seat) , then get into the seat and slide them back and forth a few times. Then , carefully get out of the car and snug up the four mounting bolts. The idea is to "equalize" the sliders (inner and outer). 21:10

Every inch of my body is thinking "he just can't do that for christ's sake..." but when i see the final result, it almost looks better than the M Performance seats in some way. It just fits the interior perfectly. Rarely been torn like on this one.

Did the same exact thing yesterday. The Recaro seat is very nice but the base and rails are a piece of s***. The hardware supplied in my case was wrong (bolts too short or too long, not enough in any case) and the instructions non existing. I positioned the seat before bolting it down because the rails are not perfectly straight so it doesn’t move freely as it is supposed to. To be honest I thought I was paying premium quality so it was bolt on, but next time I am making a custom base myself.

Have you weighed the stock seats to see the loss? I estimated 90lbs at the lightest as they are so heavy with the motors. A set of Sportsters or even lighter seats can net you a 100lb savings which is a huge performance gain and almost halfway to a 100kg (220lb loss minimum)CSL weight loss. 300-400lbs off an e92 would take it to another level in every aspect.

The BMW performance seats wasa too rich for my blood and they had only one design so i chose Recaro CS which when i compared them to the performance i felt little to no difference, (the performance one reclines the cs doesn't and both) swap install is not easy as well and u have to code the Recaro CS unless they have the cables to cancel the error codes, sliders i use European autosource always, i have the poleposition as well and CS is a notch comfy than the pole position...The main caveat when buying a car or a racecar is warranty and iirc recaro is one of the few to pass the FIA testing and to be approved (not all racing seat brands are FIA certified which cost quite a bit to do a test and is one of the main issue why some name brands are not certified) enjoy your seats!

In the past I let AMX "build" a new steering wheel for my 1M... it was a brand new, original steering wheel redone in Alcantara with a leather orange stripe at 12 o'clock. Well, it was a real mess! When they stitched the upholstery they cut (damaged) the plastic parts of the steering wheel... and they didn't even offer to replace their mess ☹️ Strongly advised against. All my custom parts come now from iND... and they are just perfect.
