So good to see someone who isn't trashing Walmart. Some of us do have to shop there and their store brands are usually just as good as premium brands, thank you.
I used to stick my nose up at Walmart. Then I actually gave their groceries a chance and now I'm hooked. The prices can't be beat for the great value brand.
I'm disabled and don't drive. I rely on grocery delivery for the majority of my shopping. I previously belonged to a regional grocery stores shopping membership service and was happy with it but it was definitely one of the more expensive stores to shop at in my area. I happen to catch a deal on a W+ membership where when I joined for a year I got 6 months free so I decided to give it a try. I've been extremely pleased with it. I have run into limited issues in terms of out of stock items and all of my deliveries have been on schedule and the shoppers have done a very good job choosing my produce and other fresh items. I will continue to use Walmart as my primary store for groceries. I also belong to Sam's Club and my next door neighbor who helps me out belongs to Costco so I can get whatever I need it either one of the club stores as well. I do plan on budgeting to join my local Kroger affiliates next day delivery program because they often offer a lot of loss leader in good quality products on sale that I sometimes prefer not to purchase for walmart. I have nothing bad to say about the quality of any of the products I've purchased from Walmart and I opt to buy the Great Value brand of many items. There just some things that I prefer to buy at my Kroger affiliate, one of which is fresh meat. I do buy some meat at Walmart but I prefer to shop at a store that has a meat counter where I can get specific information from the butcher.
I use to cook a lot of food when our sons were little. 4 boys 1 husband kept me in the kitchen. Males have a never ending apatite. This brought back memories and how much I loved to cook for them. They are all grown and gone and my husband passed a year ago so now I cook for just me. There is nothing more loving than cooking for your family
This is a perfect channel. I’m finding the lost art of cooking is rejuvenated, and re-charged on your channel and helping younger people learn how to be frugal at the same time.
Canned evaporated milk is fabulous in creamy soups and other recipes in place of heavy cream or half & half. It's very rich and creamy, delicious in coffee too.
Omg that split pea soup looked delicious! I wish I had a bowl of that this morning. We had a little snow and it is so nasty out. My mother made the best bean soup. I miss her and her soup 😊
I just picked up 2 butternut squashes from Aldi's last week for 50 cents apiece! I did have to do the work, of peeling and chopping, but it went fast. I was actually thinking of a way to use it, and your soup is perfect! All these recipes look so good, thanks for sharing! Tell your son congrats for graduating from AIT!
Kimmy I am making freezer meals for 2 for my 82 year old parent’s Christmas gift this year and I am definitely hitting Walmart today for the ingredients to make the tortellini soup for their freezer stash! Sadly Walmart just delivered all my groceries for everything else I’m making before I watched this! But that’s totally ok because they’re worth it!❤❤❤
Great job Kimmy! Everything looks super yummy! I could almost smell it! I will be definitely trying these! Thank you so much! Wishing everyone a beautiful weekend! Love and hugs to all! Eileen, Silicon Valley Mom
I have been a LONG time watcher and lover of your videos. I'm still eyeing your planner also. BUT I wanted to say welcome to being a military mom. I have one in the army and one in the air force. It's definitely a rollercoaster. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them or listen to you vent when things don't go as planned. Be prepared to "hurry up and wait". That seems to be the motto.
Since I started my Rotational prepper pantry I have been cooking more. I love making meals that feed us for 2 nites. I also bought freezer containers and I rotate thru some leftovers. Saves so much time and money. That chicken dish is on my list for next week.
Love all the soup ideas! Snowing/sleet all day here, and I was just thinking of what kinda soup I wanted to make for dinner. We had a bumper crop of butternut squash this summer, so I know what I'm using up today! Tis the season! 🍲
My grandson just graduated from army basic training a couple of weeks ago in Ga. He will be home for Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I love using the seasoning blend, too. I use it in quiche, casseroles, soups, etc. Just eliminating the step of washing and chopping those veggies makes a huge difference, IMO. And, the bags are super reasonable. I'm definitely going to try all of these. Merry Christmas!
This was such a great video full of easy to make ahead meals . I just had to save it so I can go back to it time and time again. You have such great ideas and I love the step by step no fail visuals. Thank you 😊🇨🇦
These looked like stellar meals and so far the ham and bean soup and the tortellini soup have been a HUGE HIT with the whole family! (I did miss not having the recipes in print or a link to something written.) I searched online for a comparable written bean soup but nothing came close- and I love that you are generous with the seasonings like I am - so in the end it was worth having to watch the video while making it. DH loved the addition of cabbage to the bean soup. And we subbed half diced potatoes and half a bag of tortellini for the tortellini soup. Tomorrow we try the breakfast ham bake and has now made me want to try the split pea soup for the first time. Thank you for the meal inspiration!
Hey Kimmy, thanks for the video! What would have interested me would be the individual prices of the groceries you bought to get a better impression of your calculations 😊
I enjoy your videos. I would like to see one comparing the cost and quality of homemade mixes to name brand store bought, like Bisquick, BC brownie mix, “cream of” Campbells soup, etc. I have made my own, find them superior to box or cans, but I’ve never done a cost comparison. I mention name brands because not everyone has an Aldi or Walmart around. Thanks.
I make something similar to the tortellini soup but I use a bag of gnocchi instead of tortellini and I add some chopped up cooked chicken breast. Was thinking of trying the Kirkland brand canned chicken if I’m ever out of whole chicken breasts.
Boy I need you next year in July, my ex and his wife will come for a visit for 4 weeks and i feel anxious. Cooking is not my strength, I will watch all your videos and get me an instant pot ..yup
I am going to try that ham and bean soup. it looks so good! The tortilini soup looks really good too except the great value doesnt taste very good. I get the fresh stuff from the deli.
Happy holidays Kimmy! I served in the Marines for 6 years however I got out in 2019 to be a stay at home mom. Some friendly advice whenever I came home on leave- the one thing I wanted more than anything was a home cooked meal from my mom. Chow hall food gets old after a while LOL 😆
Excited to try the butternut soup; I couldn't tell, however, if you were using a single package of the Marketplace butternut squash or 3 of them as shown in the scan. Can you share the amount you used? Thank you so much!
Walmart is the only store for me to shop at really. I use their delivery service due to my disability and here it is great! I want to get ham and make some soups now!! Take care... and MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your family.
Prices will vary, there are 3 Walmart’s within 30 minutes of my house and they ALL have varying prices with different items. However I can see this costing $100, keep in mind she is using a few staples most people already have on hand.
I went to Walmart app and put all they items she used (not spices) in my cart. $117. I added bag of potatoes and onions to my list, in case thats not in pantry. I'm in Central PA. Regions vary in price.
All those recipes looked AMAZING! Do you have issues with freezing fresh potatoes in recipes? Mine always turn black if they are frozen fresh. Thanks for another great video.
Great meals ❤ I would love to use chicken bouillon however I have not found any without msg . I’m allergic to msg . Any ideas ? Thank you and congratulations 🎈🎉🍾 🎊 to your Son 🙏 please thank him for his service 🙏
Does your ham stay moist doing it in the crockpot? Every time I bake/warm up in the oven, no matter what the instructions say, it always comes out dry.
Has anyone found Terigon lately, and where? Because I ran out of it and I have not found any at all. Thanks and I love you're channel it's very helpful, fun, knowledgeable, and not too long thanks for being out there and many blessings!
Went through with my walmart app. I put everything in my cart. Note: I did not add potatoes or any salt or seasoning to my cart. I matched the image for everything I could. And your video showed 3 bags of butternut squash, I only put one one my cart. My total $101.78
@@shesinherapron Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I am wanting to work on my food budget in the new year. This will deff help. Thanks for sharing another great video! Congratulations On Jonah graduating boot camp! Such an exciting time for him and your family.
I been watching you for yrs. And I love everything you do. But I was watching this video and noticed the first meal you did with the chicken. The chicken wasn't cooked all the way. It was pink. I Would suggest cooking the chicken in a different pan then when it's half way cook put the chicken with veggies and finish cooking it off. Other then that food looks good. 🙂

So good to see someone who isn't trashing Walmart. Some of us do have to shop there and their store brands are usually just as good as premium brands, thank you.
Besides the bulk stores Walmart is our go to.
The "store brands" are made by the same companies the make the store brand.
I used to stick my nose up at Walmart. Then I actually gave their groceries a chance and now I'm hooked. The prices can't be beat for the great value brand.
It’s either sams club or Walmart for me. Just so convenient since they have delivery options.

Ohhhh thank you for that tip. Heavy cream is 85$ here in the Caribbean while evaporated milk is under 20$.
@@semsem185 It's nice too because it's shelf stable so you can keep it in your pantry and it won't go bad.
Great in mashed potatoes. I replace regular milk for the evaporated milk and it is yummy!!

We did our Walmart online order today and added ingredients to go with what I have to make your soup recipes. Thank you.

That’s our fav ham too!! We cook it in the crockpot too and we make ham rice with the juices too! And we freeze portions and the bone! 😋

you can always add alittle watter to the heavy cream container, shake it, then pour it out so you can get the rest of that heavy cream.
Thank you for these menus And for your planners? 💖
Going to make ALL of the above. Thank you sooo much.

Question. 1st time cooking ham. Do I cook it 1st in the crockpot. Then divide up and freeze for later cooking.
My family was able to score 6 store brand hams for .89/lb at our particular WM. So thankful we have a chest freezer!
That’s amazing!
Walmart's garlic knots...my addiction!

I love that asian salad!! We like to add chicken and eat that for lunch! 👌 SOOO good!

Add pineapple juice. Also it’s already cooked so you’re just warming it through. Try it for 2 hrs.

How do you change dried powdered milk to a gal of milk

Yep every area will be different. I had 2 bags of butternut squash and 1 bag of sweet potatoes.
I would love more of these.... maybe different themes
