This is pretty much a perfect beginners tutorial. No rambling on, all basics covered, easy to understand and to follow, just amazing. Kudos and thank you! 👍
Even though making money is a great thing to have, starting a TH-cam channel should be about finding your *passion* and turning it into videos. That way, you'll be much more inclined to be consistent since you genuinely enjoy what you do! 👌🏻
Absolutely agree. Your subject/niche has to be a passion, definitely makes the process of making TH-cam videos more enjoyable & also makes engaging with your community a joy as well.
Thanks for sharing! I do agree that if you love what you’re making videos about you’ll enjoy the process more and stick with it when you have those low motivation days.
I love this ! It really got me going with VSDC - I was having problems with it before. The language is clear, the division into sections or chapters on discrete topics is ideal for finding things a second or third time. I was up and running within a day. Highly recommended - who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks ?(75 and still learning - such fun). Thank you so much.
Just changing over to Davinci Resolve but thought I'd watch this to see what it offered. Looks much easier for someone starting out. And, as usual in your videos, I found things that apply to my work even though I'm not using this particular package. Thanks!!!
This is such a good free video editor. The amount of capabilities it offers and the fluidity of the software is amazing. I've had paid editors that didn't playback as well. It has similarities to others but, it's definitely set up a bit different so I ended up here. Thanks for this vid!
Finally someone who explains this to a beginner!! I just downloaded this software a few days ago and I am having a very hard time understanding how to use it. I even went to the "tutorial" on the VSDC website and YT and it was no help for me. I am completely new to editing and this software. Thanks for this!
I just downloaded it today, had no clue what to do until I watched this, and now I have edited my first video using it. But when I clicked on "export this project" completely different options appeared than the ones he shows.
Been using VSDC for a couple of years. Subscription is extremely reasonable and affordable. Finally decided to watch a tutorial to see if I could pick up some tips and your video did not fail me. Thank you!
It was an amazing insight on the tool for a beginner like me. However if i had an opportunity to see the final exported video, it would have been even more helpful in terms of clarity.
This is absolutely impressive. I’ve been watching a couple of videos on video editing and fortunately for me I received a notification on your new upload. I’m thrilled with tonnes of detailed info I ever needed. Thanks 🙏 for this video … much appreciated Sir Brown.
Great video man! I used VSDC for 2 years before switching to Resolve, and never knew I could be doing slow motion!!! That would've really changed things for me! I agree, the way they expand each clip into its own timeline sort of when you add effects is a little weird, but still, it's a pretty powerful software for someone just starting out. Thanks for taking the time to make a tutorial!
Hi! We add new tools every few months, and we actually upgraded the slow motion feature with reframing modes a bit more than a year ago. So yes, you can easily achieve a perfect slow motion effect even after decreasing your video's frame rate drastically.
Thank you for the video! It is extremely helpful. I have been using VSDC for a view months. I selected it from another one of your videos on editing software choices. I find out new things every time I watch your videos! Great Job!!
Downloaded this editor a week ago and if it wasn`t for your video I think I would have given up on it, I am 65 and a bit overwhelmed by all the new technology there is out there. But like I said your video has given me a basic understanding of this editor and I think it will serve me well with a few slideshows I want to do as well as some videos. So, thanks again and keep up the good work
Using your detailed steps I was able to grab a clip from a video I had. That is probably the most basic use of an editor but I've never come across a instruction that spelled it out so well. So I upgraded to the pro version. I also printed out the keyboard shortcuts to have handy. Thanks so much
Thank you so much. I opened VSDC and it looked like a whole other planet. I managed to create my video in around 2 hours (I had tried InVideo but you HAVE to upgrade to export. Just starting out so want to make sure I can actually do it before taking the leap. This video was SUPER informative and helpful

I can uninstall all those useless apps that I tried and focus on this. Thank you so much Justin! I susbsribe, of course, and look further on your channel! Btw, any suggestion on how add a whiteboard?

Awesome guide. One question I had is how would one adjust the music track volume up and down with time? Other software, like Pinnacle Studio, have keyframing that let you really fine tune the volume.
I'm staggered that a video editing software like this is free, it feels too good to be true. It reminds me a lot of Sony Vegas pro 11. I feel like I'm waiting for the catch. Will I only get a 30 day trial or something? I NEED this thing, I've been uninspired for a year now and felt a drop in the quality of my life not being able to be creative with videos. I don't want the bubble to burst.

Thanks for the Video. It was very instructive and helpful. I am just starting out. Before VSDC I used openshot but there is a problem with the audio in the software. You cann't hear the audio in the preview. After spending a lot of time trying to fix it, I finally moved to vsdc.
Hi Justin. I learned the basics of using the video editor from your amazingly detailed and fully elaborated video VSDC Free Video Editor - COMPLETE Tutorial for Beginners!. I have stumbled on one small challenge I have not been able to resolve either by watching your videos, or logic. A small family video clip starts with a hand moving from the left to the right of frame, which shows clearly when I play the original on VLC. Inside VSDC, where I'm trying to edit out the original distorted and distracting sound and replace it with background music, the video starts 1/3 way across the screen, and that ruins the clip completely. Could you possibly guide me what I'm doing that is losing the first second or two of the original clip while editing? Thanks
Nice. More detail and specifics than the other VSDC tutorials I've seen. My problem is that VSDC is leaving about one minute of black, dead space at the beginning of the video, and I am unable to edit it out. I can't upload something with that dead space at the beginning. Ever heard of this happening, and do you happen to know a solution for it?
Hey Justin just 2 questions: 1) how to add an element like the one you added at the bottom of your video as a counter (in vsdc only) 2) Do you use VSDC or something else?
Hey! We have a tutorial right here: th-cam.com/video/Mj_hesp5bEQ/w-d-xo.html We currently use Final Cut Pro but you should be able to make something similar in VSDC 👍
Found this very helpful, didn't understand what normalizing audio did, but no I know. But does it reduce background noise, whiles retaining good audio from the subject?
hello, thanks for the video. Can you suggest me any free version in PC to record my voice to streaming video and make it complete video which includes audio - that's my voice
I appreciate your informative how-to video. I will indeed download the VSDC Video Editor. One question is, can one load the audio track into the project first? I will be making a music video, and that is where I need to start before adding various video clips and still shots. Speaking of, can one add still shots and achieve a slideshow affect, like adjust the length that a photo is shown, etc. I guess I will figure it out soon enough when I delve into the program, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks
