This "Portable portal" is a temporary GTFO button that gets you out of immediate danger for a few seconds so you can reload, buff up, or otherwise prepare to getting dropped back into the fray. In case of Dusk this can be a good option to re-cast some spells.
20:35 I mean if they starved to death, wouldn't their bodies be there? I assume that someone got the forge staff infected by the zombie virus, and the remaining, uninfected, forge masters won the ensuing battle. Then threw their bodies into the lava as a decontamination procedure.
The reason some spells take away your focus is because spells have difficulties. If a spell is difficult to learn it increases your spellcraft and that causes your focus to drop much quicker. Also the bag if infinite throwing knives charges by itself over time you don't need to reload it. Every time you pull out a knife it will take away a charge. Finally you should probably do the grounding meditation at the end of the day instead of the beginning since it takes away all your focus. Do that and use up all your mana with spells. It will help you lvl them up more passively without you having to dedicating most of the day reading :)
I'd say the forge got hit by some damaging effects/spawns of the portal storm. invincible glass walls do not help much against blades and what not teleporting into you.
if you get good at throwing you might be able to effectively replace the M9 with the bag of infinite throwing knives and avoid encumbrance depending on how far the throwing knives reach.
To bad he didn't have one of the dimension gate type spells available. Risky if ya don't know the actual range you can transport, since ya REALLY don't wanna wind up in the Demon cage.....lol
The Bag of Infinite throwing knives recharges over time when in your inventory. Not sure how good they are, but I was like 2-shotting regular zeds. Maybe it was because my character has 30+ strength...
The glass protecting vals items, is it breakable with enhanced str? if so, maybe give it a whack, run out, reset the forge born. rinse, repeat till its open then far hand the items outside the forge...
@@GustavoMartins-hg9wl he was afraid it might be trapped by an alarm (magic alarm?) so that it might call everyone in the forge to fight, but with how slow the forgeborn are, and how quickly they forget it would be worth a try.
43:23 - it's been a while since I played CDDA, but if you know the Light spell, it creates a light object that you can drop - and presumably throw? Dunno if Dusk ever picked that one up tho.
Lmao imagine if they had to cast a teleportation spell but it only transports living flesh so they all arrive to their new location completely exposed, that would suck a little bit.
What an episode man, great watch. The new dodging might be the enchanted parabolean blouse and pants you got. Nice that you got some of the stuff out of the forge should help you trade in the next one, shame it wasn't all of it, might be a future goal of an episode called something like "The Great Heist".
It's probably late to add this/may not fit the theme but there is a fantastic perk mod called bombastic perks that I think pairs well with magiclsym and mind over matter because of its metamagic perks. Metamagic just like in dnd let's you alter spells in a variety of ways such as range or aoe length or faster cast times or the big one here would be intuitive casting(lowers difficulty) which will let you cast spells with low focus for increased mana/stamina cost.
Love that game said here's some stuff now keep moving. Just was thinking with the glow stick, once you had it in place you could have used far hand to move it further into the base to light more of it up that way from safety right?
I mean just as there's not much realism in a guard on the ramparts of a castle knowing you stole a spoon in the dining hall and immediately sprinting to your position to arrest you, there's only so much the opposite way. Even if the forgeborn can't speak or communicate with the others like it, if it was you, wouldn't you at least tap your buddy on the arm and point at the thief, gesturing to show they've stolen something and need to be chased down? I already assume they can communicate even if they don't have mouths, so while one forge worker may go after you, if they believe you're dangerous it would make sense to at least try to get their friends to jump in too, a 1v1 with Dusk is rarely a fair fight
if the fish are dead it could indicate some kind of chemical attack, maybe what killed everyone in the forge saturated into the water and killed the fish as well.
Are you sure the dodging thing is not because of the enchanted clothes? I remember a similar effect from some magiclysm items. It might seem awesome, but it's actually pretty dangerous because it can make you step on dangerous tiles (like acid puddles or ledges) without warning . If it's a core change but you can still hurt youself by dodging...well... it's a monumentally stupid change
One Possible way for the Forge of Wonders... bring down one of the Hulks ... let them attack the remainder of the NPCs and possible kite it around the sealed off areas to get it to try and bust down walls for you... YOU will not have been the attacker... IT will be muahahaha...... Don't know if this would work or not but worth a shot... may take some work to get it through the door but.. who knows
Arrives to a fully closed barbed wired fence, no entry points, guarded by fully armed defenders... Destroys the fence, attacks, stops, says "I don't like their vibes", leaves.. Almost ruby ridge 😆 Leave them alone. Regarding the items in the forge, I would try to use far hand until you get them outside. But it doesn't matter. Edit: have you seen SpiffinBrit video? About how many youtubers are doing compilation of their series and getting more views than individual episodes? I suggest you do that ASAP. Apparently it helps the channel a lot, even if it's huge compilation with several hours.
Once upon a time you could force _shove_ items through walls. Shove and far hand have been changed, it’s now far hand push. Unfortunately it’s likely been patched, though maybe if far hand pushed hard enough, it could still bypass it. Since the last time I played, I found that destroying, building and deconstructing does not upset factions. The alarm on the walls will likely tick off the forge borns but as we’ve discovered, they’re the type use their phone flashlight, to search for their phone. If you do go back to the forge I do believe there is a portal that leads to a big, booby trapped vault behind those glass walls. I’ve never been in there but I have half a mind to not try it. There is a chance that ALL forges are now pissed at you, but there is also a chance that there are no more people in them, or at the very least the ones you’ve already generated. This may not be just forges but all previously loaded npcs may be gone, provided it’s a bug and not just them getting murdered. Nonetheless I have never seen that before, perhaps the npcs somehow annoyed the forge born (Which won’t aggro on you when attacked by something else, as with many other non-hostiles) and got obliterated. Either way your world is perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
I really like Calvary sabres, how a sabre is denoted from calvary sabre is that primarily Calvary sabers have really large blade lengths compared to their regular counterparts. there might be some other differences too, but a Calvary sabre is a big one handed sword specialized towards cutting but cable of thrusting. it'd be definitely something i'd consider if I had to be thrown in the CDDA world and had to pick a medieval weapon as a sidearm or something. Gladius I think would be good too because it's much easier to carry and can be used much more easily when you're grappled. There's a longer verison of the gladius too with a different name or at least the other sword is designed essentially like a long gladius, but I forget it's name.
Because of course a random update aimed at making the game even more tedious just breaks npcs...what's the f***ing point of making them affected by npc needs?

For some reason there are a lot of lava related deaths there. Osha nightmare

Oooooh, the heist... It's so cool! I want more! :D
Imagine Dusk smahing the glass walls, grabbing those +10 rings... :D
Oh no... You left! Those rings... Lost forever

Wonderful seeing the growth curve go exponential.
Thanks for another great episode 🦚
yeah the forge of wonders thing is really good narratively.

16:11 Pain Split is the one you should really level up, make it easier to use when you really need it.
I believe one of the max level in it

Very very true
This came out on the day before my birthday and it was still the best present in the world
Happy Birthday to you 🎉💐🎊

there's a reason it's called experimental, bugs are to be expected
