Motorstorm apocalypse gave me so many great memories as a kid. I wish they'd make another one on the ps5 honestly. I think they could make a great motorstorm with today's advancements
After watching this video, I immediately hopped on eBay and found a copy for $10! Once it arrived, I played it for a few hours straight and I absolutely love it! These are the kind of 7th gen games I love.
If you do grab MotorStorm Apocalypse, be aware that various cosmetic unlocks for vehicles, vehicle models, and driver models are mainly unlocked through online. Thus you will likely have to track down a complete savefile to have access to that stuff. However, everything else in the game is freely playable and pretty fun.
This game has been on my radar for a while glad to see that you enjoyed it Juan! I have Arctic Edge on the Psp and it's a fantastic version also. I just finished 007 Blood Stone yesterday on the PS3 and i was genuinely surprised how good the game and the story was. Highly recommend it👍

Yeah like an update that allowed you to collect all the customisation stuff by playing the story mode something like the collectible cards you can find on every the track

I've been playing a cracked motorstorm apocalypse back in 2011 on my PS3. But when I "Purify" my PS3 to go online couple of years later, I did buy the digital version of the game for a discount price. I still have a chance to play it online until it shutdown in October of 2017, which is unfortunate because this game really fuelling my adrenaline of it's bizarre, arcady and full of action gameplay. Personally I see this game has a underrated position since this game lack of marketing following the Tohoku earthquake in Japan back in march of 2011. If, just if, this game is well managed, it might be awesome to see this game keeps online for sure...
I have the original motorstorm and really want to play apocalypse. It’s just… I love the physics in the game. Also just the sheer chaos in the game draws me to it.
I've just bought a copy today for really cheap. I purely focus on a single player mode. And god damn i freaking love the vehicles and chaos on the track. Still worth playing in 2023
I absolutely loved Motorstorm Apocalypse. I had thousands of hours on that game. It's such a shame they killed the multiplayer servers. I miss that game. Lunatics Unite.
I think I remember playing Motorstorm at a senior school activity in my high, and it surprised me how accelerating made you motor burn until you exploded, I was also doing terrible because I wasn’t a PS guy, but the graphics were incredible speaking form someone who still owned a RC TV.
Yeah I actually like how they did the boosting, it almost creates a minigame of you trying to go as fast as possible without getting blown up. Incredible graphics indeed. Thanks for watching!!!
Weirdly the motion comics or the cutscenes (whatever you want to call them) we were one of my favorite aspects of the game. They were so cheesy and weird but that’s kinda what made them great. I remember Big Dog and Cutter being my two favorite characters, but I related to Mash the most. I even kinda has crush on Lena when I was younger. I really hope if somehow a new game in the series is added that they include the cutscenes again!
I liked the cutscenes because they reminded me of Twisted Metal 2 and Head-On's cutscenes for the endings. That said, among the characters, I like Tyler's story the most because... well... there's a story. Something more than just Mash and Big Dog racing and it all ends with you having one last race to the Carrier against your rival, Muerte. That finale felt 'right' for a boss battle of sorts in a racing game and was pretty fun.
I'm not sure if this is true, but this game had levelution before it was cool. Buildings collapsing and cutting off paths while opening up new ones. The ground cracking, shifting, and falling beneath you. And just the fast-paced chaos as the world falls apart around you, making you feel like a badass if you can navigate through all of it.
I'm always going back to the Motorstorm series it's a blast. I finally finished my video reviews for the 4 main games. I still need to go over RC on Vita version as well but I flipping hate it too haha.
I have played online on all 3. Pacific rift was my favorite caz i like the off roading a little more. But i played apocalypse online more caz the customization was far better. But i got apocalypse on release and played online for a couple years
We need a motorstorm remastered collection for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and generate awareness of the series greatness and possibly warrent a 4th motorstorm game that's truly next gen worthy.
I'm definitely late to the party, but there's another PS3 racing game I played a lot of as a kid called "Mod Nation Racers". The big centerpiece of the game was how you can completely customize your racer, your kart, and even make your own race tracks. Do you think you'd want to check this out? Its been years since I've played it, but I hope it still holds up.
Im a huge fan as well! Apocalypse was my favorite but i still played Artic Edge for the PSP and Pacific Rift for Ps3. I wish Sony could remaster Apocalypse since it has the most potential for online play plus they could add new DLC i’d pay for it tbh
Pacific Rift is my favourite. I loved the apocalyptic style o this sequel because is a higher level of adrenaline, and every lap is different. But honestly Pacific Rift gave me (specially online) the best racing gaming experience. The environment was incredible and the gameplay was awesome to compete with other 15 opponents.
One thing that’s needs mentioning is what happened in 2011 The game was originally intended to release March 17, 2011 but a few days before that was is the Japan earthquake and tsunami which delayed the game till April I don’t remember if this caused anything for the game not ruling in enough money because of the tragedy And also a design flaw in the game which if you deleted your safe progress all the car and parts You earned was gone and the only way to unlock it was to play online to me that was a huge downfall of the game now the only way anybody can get anything on lock is if they hack the game or find somebody who has a 100% safe file I know there’s a group or reddit post talking about a Facebook group that has a 100% safe file And talking to them can get you the file that’s literally the only way
The only literal problem that I have with Motorstorm Apocalpyse is that the only way you can unlock most of the in game content, (other cars, car parts, stickers, liveries, drivers, etc) was with the online multiplayer, which was shut down back in 2018, so unless you've already played this game and unlocked all the stuff you can get only through online multiplayer, you're gonna be stuck with only 1 car per type and maybe a couple of parts for each vehicle, a few stickers and liveries, and a small roster of drivers to pick from. Aside from that Apocalypse has always been my favorite in the Motorstorm series, it's just a shame I'll never be able to customize most of the cars I have to their fullest extent or even be able to customize vehicles that I used in the Festival mode, like the Falfer Undertaker or Monarch GT101.
Guy's it's good but the most played content (multiplayer) servers have shut down. That means vehicle customization,character selection, etc are impossible to unlock, if story you're thing then by all means go for it!

If you can locate them.. The Asian version of Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 are totally worth revisiting. Both games have the original Japanese soundtrack with English subtitles. Both games got a lot of hate back in the day for their linear approach.
I am really surprised they did non do any Motorstorm for PS4 and did not announce it for PS5. Motorstorm Apocalypse is one a kind game with epic scripted destructions on the map and dynamically changing tracks during the race.
after playing msmv and mspr for years i got this game at the beginning of the year after this Video, i loved and hated it it has many bad design decisions but also good ones, for me the good ones make up for entertainment
Motorstorm apocalypse on ps3 was the days. I had so many memories punching alot of people of there bike. My favorite characters where big dog and muerte.
Just been playing this on a 55inch 3DTV.... for like 3 hours straight in amazing 3D... wow!! it's like playing a Hollywood movie! Never experienced anything quite like this before in any game let alone a racing game... probably the best looking racing game I've ever played. I have 25 3DTV ps3 games and this one is right up there along with Zen Pinball 2 and Stardust HD
One game I started on PS3 is Steins;Gate. Obviously VNs are not everybody's cup of tea, but it's pretty darn good. This one is basically just reading through it, without choice points, making it a less demanding form of entertainment than an action game. PS3 doesn't have many VNs (in English at least) but just having those as an option expands the choice a lot! I don't think this can be found for cheap, though. A cheap non-obvious game really worth playing is Hot Shots Golf / Everybody's Golf.
That experience with Steins;Gate actually seems relaxing. Not every game needs to follow a traditional formula, right? :) - You know I LOVED playing Hot Shots Golf on PS1 but never played the ones on later consoles. Gonna have to check it out. Thanks for watching!
All MS series are great however apocalypse felt more like railroad racing than rally style that we had on past series. Past series had mud, snow, water and very wide lanes but apocalypse had narrow scripted lanes which looks cool for few times but gets boring later on.
Now with the ps plus 100 dollar subscription, i believe you can play all the motor-storm, i have played apocalypse the past 3 days and it is just as good as when i first played it. Its unfortunate, that with the release date the major earthquake/tsunami hurt this entry in the franchise, i believe this would have put motorstorm in an amazing spot as need for speed was losing ground, racing sims werent as frequent as they are now, and forza horizon had not released yet. This deserved to be up there with flatout 2, burnout, and other famous arcade racers that we reminisce in our golden days.
Love motorstorm! motorstorm pacific rim was my fav. Just booted up to make sure my DLC was available now the store closes. Such good tracks. Content that gets lost. Such a shame..
I played and loved all 3 "mainline" Motorstorm games, but Apocalypse was definitely my favourite of the three. My retro recommendation is the "Resistance" trilogy. In particular Resistance 3. It's a great story with amazing weapons. It takes quite alot of inspiration from Half Life but in a good way 👍

MotorStorm Apocalypse released days after the tsunami hit Japan, so Sony was worried they might get backlash so they cancelled all marketing for it and that damaged it's sales so bad they cancelled the series after

Motorstorm was one of the best launch titles ever, and Motorstorm Apocolypse was easily the best racing game on the system. Such a shame we didn't get a PS4 remaster of any of the motorstorm games. Arctic Edge was also released on the PS2 by the way, in case you weren't aware. PS3 games I want to replay in 2021: Metal Gear Solid 4 Resistance 3 Killzone 2 Dead Space Infamous 2 Burnout Paradise

@@PlayerJuan That's too true. Yeah I'm having a blast with GT6 so far, once I got my Supra RZ and Integra DC2 dialed in just how I like em ive been tearing it up. I try to assign at least one month a year to playing the games I bought but didn't get a chance to play or didn't play enough. I think it's safe to say once you've been a gamer for a certain period of time you tend to end up with a reasonably large backlog. 🤣

Metacritic rated pacific rift higher because of the multiplayer and soundtrack never played both games but I wouldn't mind picking up both. Loved the video and great job!

@@PlayerJuan also fuel was fun racing game from 2008 or 2009 and it still online with a large map and load of transport and also it based in America after global warming and there loads races with tornadoes blizzard storm huracains wildfires and other stuff which helps you get new transport also it 5000+ miles and was arwarded largest racing game

I really miss this game, They wanted to relive it with onrush but I feel that it is not the same, maybe a remake of this game on ps5 has too potential.. PLS CODEMASTERS relive Motorstorm!
Onrush was a good attempt - it looks great! - but it felt like less a racing game than a car combat game most of the time. Sadly it flopped so badly I can't see Codemasters try the formula again.
Pacific Rift was the best for me, Apocalypse in the other hand had much potential yet it was devoided from its genuine identity, didn't like the direction it took.
I actually also loved RC!! Looool. But that's probably because I played it mostly on the Vita and those types of games really lent well to that portable format. Artic Edge on the PSP is great as well. This series was always kick-ass but I don't remember playing Pacific rift nor apocalypse. Would be cool if they would get remastered... 👀 For a recent game, You need to play OnRush!!! I think it was free on PS plus so you probably already have it. It's super arcade-y and actually quite fun and challenging. Saludos!

Not gonna lie, I never see this game anywhere and for real looks awesome!! Bad thing that my PS3 get damage wend I move to this apartment, if not, I'll find a copy of that game a play it!! Those are the kind of racing games that I enjoy wend I was young. Arcade style. If you have a chance and a N64 check out Top Gear Overdrive, that game its a lot of fun. Maybe don't hold up as much as this one but its fun as hell. Mice vid my dude!!
Its all nice and fun, but I can't seem to make it work - īve tried on multiple ps3. It glitches all the time cant get past first track, it always frēzes the whole system, or gets stuck on opening loading screen. Does anyone know any solution?

Arctic Edge plays great emulated on phones with a ps4 or Xbox One controller, and you can play it at 10x the resolution and with a 60fps mod.

The simple answer to “What Happened?” is Driveclub’s existence. That game basically ended Evolution Studios.
Little big planet 2 : D still an active community and it has so many levels created by people go ahead play it before server may shut down

If you can locate them.. The Asian version of Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 are totally worth revisiting. Both games have the original Japanese soundtrack with English subtitles. Both games got a lot of hate back in the day for their linear approach.

I am really surprised they did non do any Motorstorm for PS4 and did not announce it for PS5. Motorstorm Apocalypse is one a kind game with epic scripted destructions on the map and dynamically changing tracks during the race.
after playing msmv and mspr for years i got this game at the beginning of the year after this Video, i loved and hated it
it has many bad design decisions but also good ones, for me the good ones make up for entertainment
Motorstorm apocalypse on ps3 was the days. I had so many memories punching alot of people of there bike. My favorite characters where big dog and muerte.

Just been playing this on a 55inch 3DTV.... for like 3 hours straight in amazing 3D... wow!! it's like playing a Hollywood movie! Never experienced anything quite like this before in any game let alone a racing game... probably the best looking racing game I've ever played. I have 25 3DTV ps3 games and this one is right up there along with Zen Pinball 2 and Stardust HD
Yeah the game has a surprising amount of detail and was very advanced for its time. It has to look amazing in 3d.
Played this recently on PS Now for the first time. Great game! I had to buy a used copy of it.
One game I started on PS3 is Steins;Gate. Obviously VNs are not everybody's cup of tea, but it's pretty darn good. This one is basically just reading through it, without choice points, making it a less demanding form of entertainment than an action game. PS3 doesn't have many VNs (in English at least) but just having those as an option expands the choice a lot! I don't think this can be found for cheap, though.
A cheap non-obvious game really worth playing is Hot Shots Golf / Everybody's Golf.
That experience with Steins;Gate actually seems relaxing. Not every game needs to follow a traditional formula, right? :) - You know I LOVED playing Hot Shots Golf on PS1 but never played the ones on later consoles. Gonna have to check it out. Thanks for watching!

All MS series are great however apocalypse felt more like railroad racing than rally style that we had on past series. Past series had mud, snow, water and very wide lanes but apocalypse had narrow scripted lanes which looks cool for few times but gets boring later on.
Now with the ps plus 100 dollar subscription, i believe you can play all the motor-storm, i have played apocalypse the past 3 days and it is just as good as when i first played it. Its unfortunate, that with the release date the major earthquake/tsunami hurt this entry in the franchise, i believe this would have put motorstorm in an amazing spot as need for speed was losing ground, racing sims werent as frequent as they are now, and forza horizon had not released yet. This deserved to be up there with flatout 2, burnout, and other famous arcade racers that we reminisce in our golden days.
Love motorstorm! motorstorm pacific rim was my fav. Just booted up to make sure my DLC was available now the store closes. Such good tracks. Content that gets lost. Such a shame..
this game kind looks like Split Second mixed with Motorstorm , which I think is amazing
I played and loved all 3 "mainline" Motorstorm games, but Apocalypse was definitely my favourite of the three. My retro recommendation is the "Resistance" trilogy. In particular Resistance 3. It's a great story with amazing weapons. It takes quite alot of inspiration from Half Life but in a good way 👍

MotorStorm Apocalypse released days after the tsunami hit Japan, so Sony was worried they might get backlash so they cancelled all marketing for it and that damaged it's sales so bad they cancelled the series after

Motorstorm was one of the best launch titles ever, and Motorstorm Apocolypse was easily the best racing game on the system. Such a shame we didn't get a PS4 remaster of any of the motorstorm games. Arctic Edge was also released on the PS2 by the way, in case you weren't aware.

@@PlayerJuan That's too true. Yeah I'm having a blast with GT6 so far, once I got my Supra RZ and Integra DC2 dialed in just how I like em ive been tearing it up. I try to assign at least one month a year to playing the games I bought but didn't get a chance to play or didn't play enough. I think it's safe to say once you've been a gamer for a certain period of time you tend to end up with a reasonably large backlog. 🤣
@@SnakeHiggins That's a good way to go about it, set yourself some time to focus on that backlog but I getcha... after a while it's almost impossible to keep up, haha.

Onrush was a good attempt - it looks great! - but it felt like less a racing game than a car combat game most of the time. Sadly it flopped so badly I can't see Codemasters try the formula again.

Pacific Rift was the best for me, Apocalypse in the other hand had much potential yet it was devoided from its genuine identity, didn't like the direction it took.
I actually also loved RC!! Looool. But that's probably because I played it mostly on the Vita and those types of games really lent well to that portable format. Artic Edge on the PSP is great as well. This series was always kick-ass but I don't remember playing Pacific rift nor apocalypse. Would be cool if they would get remastered... 👀

Those are the kind of racing games that I enjoy wend I was young. Arcade style. If you have a chance and a N64 check out Top Gear Overdrive, that game its a lot of fun. Its all nice and fun, but I can't seem to make it work - īve tried on multiple ps3. It glitches all the time cant get past first track, it always frēzes the whole system, or gets stuck on opening loading screen. Does anyone know any solution?
