In this short series of videos I am looking at trying to slow Menna down. In this her third session she gives me the impression that its starting to come together and she is indeed slowing down and listening to and understanding the commands.
In this series on Training My Sheepdog, I show how I train my own Border Collie Menna from start to finish with my own rare breed sheep.
It will involve mistakes and how to solve them as we take this journey together.
I also have a series on Training Protection Dogs, Dog Agility Training
and 'How To' Explanation Training Videos which will expand from 'Beginners' to 'Expert' in knowledge and skills set.
As a Dog Trainer of many years standing, mainly in the world of Protection and Security Dogs and their handlers, I have always wanted to train my own sheepdog for the purpose they were bred for, I have owned and trained many but for pets and search/ detection work.

I’ve found walking backwards through a small field allows the dog to take the sheep at your pace , have a bag of nuts and if the sheep are hungry and well dogged enough they’ll stick near your legs
