Great video !! I made the mistake of doing these excercises too often and turned my sheep into KneeKnockers which made them completely useless for moving on from this stage !! Regards..

There was a series on TV for awhile, matching people with puppies. On family chose a border collie. When they were having their first play time everyone in the yard, the pup was trying to round them up

Sherpa relaxing and dreaming. All the pups are happy to be in the crate. I think being able to leave your dog in a crate is a very handy tool to have in your puppy training tool box

I'm a firm believer that the success of crate training is in the trainer / owner having the correct attitude towards it. The crate is not a prison cell or punishment block, it's the dogs safe space. Hilary, here 14 weeks old, will happily go into his bed and relax there, quietly on his own. When we're home the door remains open , throughout the night or when we go out we shut the door, it's all the same to him, it's his safe space not his secure unit.

Taking Hilary to the opticians. What... they do specs for pups lol. Using every day activities to broaden your puppy's experiences will help in making them become calm confident adults

Longline and a few well timed interruption’s. Also part exchange those sheep for some slower heavier and more confident Tups. She’s had her head for a bit now, and harassing the sheep to much, needs to have a little respect for them also. How you enjoying your career change? Best wishes Steve

Menna needs some positive encouragement when she does the right thing by the tone of your voice. She is bored just going around in circles and not working just eyeing them in a chase mode. She needs some flock work on at least 20 to 30 dog broke sheep, moving them from one pen to another pen. Intelligent dogs need encouragement and see a purpose in their work. Working bigger numbers will make her keep off and focus more. Lots of top handlers in the UK can provide you with sheep and training knowledge, better then I can. Try contacting Ricky Hutchinson or the ISDS.

As decoy i never liked the IPO sleeves. I prefer the soft sleeves gives a better sense of how the dog bites and with little tricks you can improve the bite more easily

I’ve found walking backwards through a small field allows the dog to take the sheep at your pace , have a bag of nuts and if the sheep are hungry and well dogged enough they’ll stick near your legs

I am very novice to the sheepdog world but I remember in the comments a couple of people made myself included it might benefit you to watch the training videos that the people who really know what they are doing post !! Menna is responding better to your commands and listening to you more. You are staying closer to the sheep and this is helping. Soon you will be able to walk backwards and she will bring the sheep to you. She will eventually learn her sides and develop a walk on. How is call off?

And we're back!!!! Great news, I've been waiting to follow Mennas' progress. Glad you're both back in action.

So we're back after quite a long lay off. We've been doing a bit over the last two or three weeks and this is the 6th session. Both just trying to get into the swing of things, blow out a few cobwebbs, see where we are and think about where we need to be next and how to get there.

Very good progress. I like the way you change the direction. As a beginner myself, I will just forward my trainer advice. Stop worrying about the dog. She is doing well. You have to protect your sheep now. The dog has to be on the other side of the sheep. It is easier said than done. Honestly... I am impressed and jealous of your progress. Have fun👍
