As a 16 year old producer i have no one to teach me how to do stuff. You are my only teacher really. I dont know when i will ever use some of this stuff but i feel god like for knowing how to make such gnarly ass sounds. How you figure this stuff out on your own is pretty spectacular. Thank You for sharing it with the world!
I really like your tutorials with harmor its really helpful i hope you do some more ;) Almost nobody has tutorials on this kind of basses thats why i appreciate it so much.
In this case I was using slide notes. if you double click on a note in the piano roll you can select whether or not it's a slide note. Then the note that's running before it will slide to the slide note according do it's length and pitch.
Found your youtube channel through a thread you made for your song Bitten, on KVR. Your tutorials are awesome man, they have been extremely helpful - just wanted to tell you they are appreciated!
I bounce the harmor resampled stuff because that's how you resample using this process. But usually no, I keep as many things running live as possible to avoid having to rebounce things if I want to go make changes.
This is all grade A stuff man, Big ups. Only thing I wanna say to people watching is don't get used to hard limiting to compensate for bass loss from phase cancellation!
What I do is at the start of every project I go into the options and set a data folder. This way, whenever I make or record a new audio file it will go to that folder specified for the project.
There are audio clips because the original sound was recorded, imported back into harmor, messed with, recorded again. So on and so forth until the final sound was achieved. There can only be an audio clip of that sound using this process :]
The answer to that is to think simple, it's not like Jason Paul said in the MISC tab of the plugin window (it's another way but with much less control) Just open the piano roll throw in some long and short notes, double click the short notes and select slide from the popup window and you are done!
Maximus is incredible. I used to use it a alot. (I switched to Ableton... Much more eficient... You can add as many effects as you want and you can bounce from MIDI to AUDIO without the need of a software like Edison, for example). Anyway, keep the good work. :D
Click on the sytrus channel in the sequencer and two windows pop up, sytrus plugin window, and the channel setting window that is present for every plugin. Go to the MISC tab and you'll see polyphony settings including porta and mono.
Windows Vista: Check FL 10: Check Recording Screencap Audio into DAW: Check Skrillex: Check Beatport: Check Half-Life 2 Deathmatch Steam Popup: Check Boys we've traveled back in time
This is just incredible! Just one advice, friend. Split those frequencies and center the bases... You start to lost focus on the lower frequencies when they are panned. I recomend izotope Ozone for that.
Well, if you keep the original midi score for the sound you're resampling then you shouldn't have a problem doing something like EQing the lows out of the end result and then layering your sine under it with the original midi.
Hi, Seamless, I really dig the video and your basses are awesome. I was just wondering, when it comes to the love philter, are those two filters operating simultaneously or is one being fed into the other? I don't have the plugin, so I'm trying to find a workaround for it. Additionally, is the x modulator spanning the entire cutoff of the lp filter or is the lowest x value the midway point on the cutoff filter?
I would love to see some tutorials from you on wave shaping. I can tell you have a fair idea how to do it, but I am just so lost with it, right down to the theory level. I have however, seen someone do an old tutorial (video got deleted) of creating vinyl clicks using wave shaping.
i have two questions. couldn't you also use the protection slider to prevent unison from crushing your fundamental and lower harmonics? and also you don't seem to use flanging here, i've seen a lot of people use flangers for this kind've sound but i'm unsure in what context they become useful, as apposed to phasing. any help regarding my queries would be appreciated.
Hi seamless, great tuts. You spoke about adding the sampled bass to both the A and B sections in harmour but did you do this for every time you resampled? i don't think you mentioned it.
question. if you don't have harmor what is the equivelent of prism, blur and harmonizer are there any other vsts or effects that can be used to shift partials around the spectrum. or is it just accomplished by detuning the sound differently across the spectrum?
Jesus christ dude, I only just watched your 44 minute epic on the making of Menagerie.....you seem to be continuously shitting gold at the moment. So yeah, thanks again.
Somehow I made neuro bass using only sytrus, I made a standard patch, added unison in tthe fx channel and added a weird shaped pulse wave, sounded like harmor neuro!
Okay, i hope i don't sound too dumb here.. but I dont really use sytrus... like ever xD How did you get the pitch bending in the pattern you made for the bass. When i try to add some changing notes to give it a wobble sound like yours, it just sounds like a note playing over top
Hey Seamless, your bass tuts are amazing, giving that i out gives us all more cool tracks to hear. Could you do a tut on neurofunk bass the track 'Misha - bugs 2' i really want to get to know the method. Thanks bro, keep the boss music coming xx
My Fruity filter isn't having a big impact on the "right in the face" wobbly sound. I tried changing the resonance and all the knobs but it sounds like only a small region is filtered. The cut envelopes are set the right way from 0% to 100% but it still sounds kind of weird. Any suggestions? Also, when I process the Harmor sounds the bitrate seems to be reduced each time and the sound looses information. What do I have to set up so Edison records a high quality sound? Thanks in advance.
Hey man, can you explain why you export each of your stems and then use the files to make the full song? I've seen people do it but i'm curious as to why they do?
Hey man! How do u make that pitch automation in your midi? I'm using Sytrus as a VST and I see that u don't automate the pitch knob but instead play midi notes. I can't make Sytrus play only 1 voice : /
Use the slide function. In the top left of the piano roll there's what looks kind of like a razor blade edge, mouseover and you'll see that it's for note glide. Only really works on native FL synths.
The Teebee/Noisia signature bass. There's a difference between modulating reeses and getting a neuro sound and modulating reeses to get a clean, clear neuro sound. I'm still yet to learn how to get it so clean. Harmor doesn't work on 64bit win machines. Other than the Emu filters how else can you get the real clean sound? Is it like you said, exporting the same signal and modulating them in different ways together. If I was to do that it would still sound as if it was crossfading from one sound to one very similar. As opposed to going from one to one much different in texture. What is Harmor actually doing, what effects does it have that can be subtituted for others? Is making the most out of K'board tracking fundermental before processing? No need to answer, the questions are there to be answered by any one at any point sice i feel many are stuck in the same dilema as me.
Hi, nice tutorial. I'm interested with that "Simple Reese" Sytrus Preset... Please, can you tell me where I can find it? Or, can you give me that? I'ld be very glad if you'll send me that!! Thank you very much in advance.
In the love filter i automated the modulation x just like that, have the filter set up essentially the same. I tried to make it almost pluck at the end but its not giving me that pluck noise im looking for. It sounds more like a smooth curve.. Any ideas on why i am not getting that pluck?
can anyone tell me what kind of notes are these f#4 in your pattern? i see they are silver at 6:57.. and they dont sound like regular notes.. they are actually making that wou wou effect that i'm stucked with atm
i'me a complete beginner with this stuff so this is gonna sound pretty obvious to a lot of people. firstly on the sytrus patch how do you make the sound start smooth, I have been trying and when the sound starts it comes in real hard if that makes any sense, is this something to do with the volume envelopes in sytrus? also are you using slide notes for the notes on top of the main note playing? any help would be highly appreciated
Yes of course, i'd be pissed if a filter that good didn't have that option. If it didn't you could of just put 2 instances next to each other in the mixer track itself. Sorry 11 months late. I've been using a lot more of it recently.
Well. I can imagine how it would be difficult to do Harmor resampling if you don't have Harmor. Not really a whole lot that can be done about that other than you getting Harmor
I've come across the concept that artists will split up there frequencies and alter them all seperately, but have no idea what the real purpose of this is, or how to do it. Any suggestions on where to learn about these techniques?
As a 16 year old producer i have no one to teach me how to do stuff. You are my only teacher really. its been 11 years now bro i really hope you stuck with making music im going on my 13th year straight while never taking a brake
THANK YOU, for showing us the sounds at the START of the tutorial. Attention tutorial makers, be this guy
You've gotten so much more chill over the years.
I really like your tutorials with harmor its really helpful i hope you do some more ;) Almost nobody has tutorials on this kind of basses thats why i appreciate it so much.
Hi Arcade! Caught ya!
You're just a seamless fan like rest of us 😂😂
In this case I was using slide notes. if you double click on a note in the piano roll you can select whether or not it's a slide note. Then the note that's running before it will slide to the slide note according do it's length and pitch.
That simple reece you made sounds exactly like the lead Eptic likes abusing a lot. I love it.
best video I've seen on youtube till now
Found your youtube channel through a thread you made for your song Bitten, on KVR. Your tutorials are awesome man, they have been extremely helpful - just wanted to tell you they are appreciated!
I use Maximus in the master and it has stereo separation settings for each band. But it is good advice, for sure :]
You are a beast, where were you 20 years ago lol. Love your tutorials, thanks so much!
One of the best tutorials I have watched so far!
fantastic! you have distilled like 50 tutorials into a masterclass. cheers!
I bounce the harmor resampled stuff because that's how you resample using this process. But usually no, I keep as many things running live as possible to avoid having to rebounce things if I want to go make changes.
HAH I FOUND YOU MARKO! NICE TO KNOW WE WATCH THE SAME QUALITY, HELPFUL, INSPIRING VIDEOS!

You are a godsent to all edm producers out there
DID YOU PUT AN EQ ON YOUR VOICE

You are a Fruity God! Yes Sir!
Really appreciate you sharing all this great stuff!
Wow! This was the best tutorial on this topic ever! Very fast and very effective, thanks! :A

Anyway, keep the good work. :D
HOLY SHIIAAAT! thank you so much, this is the sickest bass tutorial i've ever seen on youtube =O
Make sure, in the ADV tab, you have all the quality settings at max and "denoise" turned down all the way.
Click on the sytrus channel in the sequencer and two windows pop up, sytrus plugin window, and the channel setting window that is present for every plugin. Go to the MISC tab and you'll see polyphony settings including porta and mono.

i heard the beginning. OMFG IM GOING TO WATCH THIS LIKE 50 TIMES
Seamless you're such a pro.
I'm actually speechless... uhm... this is awesome!
Well, if you keep the original midi score for the sound you're resampling then you shouldn't have a problem doing something like EQing the lows out of the end result and then layering your sine under it with the original midi.
Seamless you're the man!
that filter setting at the end is a lifesaver!!!! thanks a fucking bunch!!!!!!!
SeamlessR Thank you again
18:41 I just fell in love.
8 years delay time but hey better late than never
damn... subbed instantly when i heard the first 20 seconds
Hi, Seamless,
I really dig the video and your basses are awesome. I was just wondering, when it comes to the love philter, are those two filters operating simultaneously or is one being fed into the other? You are a true legend!
I... make them? Unless you're talking about the Skrillex samples, I got those from Beatport for the remix contest.
I see Noisia's soundcloud down at the bottom. MUCH RESPECT.
This changed my life
This was incredibly useful.
I think I have watched/listened to the first 10 seconds of this video about 40 times :D
Im still waiting for FL to Make an effect channel version of Harmor.
In the description of my Bun Dem remix video there are links to download this project for free. You can open that up and look at all the settings :]
"This is the before." Ah, pretty cool.
"This is the after." HOLY FUCK SO SICK
BRB, liking all your videos
You got some mad skills!
cant stop liking yr videos...
Hey I'm following all your stuff man! you ROCK!
only 1 question, how did you make the pitch/portamento jump thingy in the midi?
You are a beast dude.
You sound like a robot when talking and playing the bass HAHAHAH, great tutorial, Seamless!
I would love to see some tutorials from you on wave shaping. I can tell you have a fair idea how to do it, but I am just so lost with it, right down to the theory level. I have however, seen someone do an old tutorial (video got deleted) of creating vinyl clicks using wave shaping.
wow, 3 years since i follow you? no way
Nice work man!

You should start creating one to one training sessions, that'd be so damn awesome! (for money of course).
Hi seamless, great tuts. You spoke about adding the sampled bass to both the A and B sections in harmour but did you do this for every time you resampled? i don't think you mentioned it.
thank you so much im gonna im totally learning this stuff

This fucking guy is making some insane stuff.
Somehow I made neuro bass using only sytrus, I made a standard patch, added unison in tthe fx channel and added a weird shaped pulse wave, sounded like harmor neuro!
Do you ever bounce your sounds to wav files to make it easier to arrange and use less cpu power?
Whats' the effect/plugin you use to make that stereo separation?
Hey how did you resample the basses from the original track? probably an answer for different video
I cover it at 3:30
Okay, i hope i don't sound too dumb here.. but I dont really use sytrus... like ever xD How did you get the pitch bending in the pattern you made for the bass. When i try to add some changing notes to give it a wobble sound like yours, it just sounds like a note playing over top
Just heard the 5 first seconds and KNEW I had to watch it all
Thanks :] 20 years ago I was 4 :p
whats another vocoder vst you would recommend besides vocodex for this kind of processing?
Check if Imageline has a AU version of Harmor on their website... They do sell this plug in btw :D
Hey Seamless, your bass tuts are amazing, giving that i out gives us all more cool tracks to hear. Could you do a tut on neurofunk bass the track 'Misha - bugs 2' i really want to get to know the method. Thanks bro, keep the boss music coming xx

+Chris Burton I'm using Ableton on a 64 system and Harmor works for me.
You have to get the 64 bit version
Yeah it does.
Hi, nice tutorial.
I'm interested with that "Simple Reese" Sytrus Preset...
Please, can you tell me where I can find it?
Or, can you give me that?
I'ld be very glad if you'll send me that!!
Thank you very much in advance.
thank you for sharing your knowledge with us ;)
THIS IS INSANE. im seriously considering to change to FL from ableton just because harmor.. GOD
In the love filter i automated the modulation x just like that, have the filter set up essentially the same. I tried to make it almost pluck at the end but its not giving me that pluck noise im looking for. It sounds more like a smooth curve.. Any ideas on why i am not getting that pluck?

is there a Harmor style plugin for mac?
where do you get your bass samples?

+anm bmm you can use a low pass filter to make it more blunt, or you can harmonize it or change the wave from saw or square to sine.
Thank you a million times! :)
I think its because the harmor needs the audio data, and if its a pattern it doesnt exist until its processed as its played. But I could be wrong.
Is it possible to put serial filter procesing in fruity love philter???
Yes of course, i'd be pissed if a filter that good didn't have that option. If it didn't you could of just put 2 instances next to each other in the mixer track itself. Sorry 11 months late. I've been using a lot more of it recently.

I've come across the concept that artists will split up there frequencies and alter them all seperately, but have no idea what the real purpose of this is, or how to do it. Any suggestions on where to learn about these techniques?
harmor is part of gol's plugins, they're windows only no au version
How do u use glide in sytrus?
okay so I use ableton 9 but I know harmor can be bought as a vst, will it work inside of ableton?
