You can either use slide notes in the piano roll by double clicking on the note and selecting "slide" or you can go into the channel settings window from the sequencer, select "misc" and enable mono and slide there.
That effect is part of the reason why I rarely use the whole unedited sample when I'm done with the process. A few ways to counteract that include automating the pitch of the unison, turning up the sharpness knob, setting the prism effect to trigger with harmonic level. One of the ways I tried before was reversing the sample for every step.
Try saving the file on your disk and then loading it into Harmor manually. Click on the arrow on the upper left of the IMG section and select "analyze audio file"
Haaaa... I was so stupid.. I general never use glide in channel settings because almost every vst has built in glide function.. Tnx man.. You helped me alot with these tutorials.. You are best on YT! Just KEEP 'EM Coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!
---Captain's log--- Date: 22-03-2016 Part: 0010 With this resampling technique, Im now able to make some sick ass stuff. Thanks SeamlessR. Also, derp derp derp. Captain out!
If you mean a general setting that makes all notes behave like that, if you click on the channel settings window from the sequencer (not the plugin window) under "misc" there are mono and porta controls with glide speed.
Mess around with the "sharpness" knob when the sound starts to crop up. Lower sharpness settings (middle position being zero) result in the sound being attenuated somewhat but with other side effects. The sound is a result of phase cancellation or amplification when the unison effects get stacked. there's a way to avoid that by being careful what unison settings you use, but it tends to get very unwieldy.
in the envelope windows click on "step" on the lower right. This will turn on the draw mode where clicking draws in and right clicking removes. Turn step off to edit individual points.
Usually I keep it mono the whole time. Harmor will only actually do mono in resynthesis anyway unless you do very specific setup. If I want stereo effects I do them all post. Or at the very last resample step using the distortion FX "asymetry" setting.
Make sure you are clicking on the button that I am when I drag the files. That is where the click and drag function comes from. The spectrum/waveform view that I'm using is just a view setting that you can set by right clicking the main window, selecting "view" and "dual view"
I've never been good at reading manuals as I am more of a "visual learner" .. .. thanks again for sharing the knowledge bro!! (and thanks again for the limiter help!! Holy shit what a difference it made). I love the way you you deal with the Fraps freaking out .. I Lol for real every time. Comedy AND quality sound design ... HOORAY!!! If you're still taking requests ... I'd like to see your take on mastering. Most of them are bunk.
Seamless, you can also just slap the Edison on the preserved "Selected" channel (to the right of Send 4), which is a sort of meta mixer channel. I usually put a wave candy and/or edison on there for analyzing and recording stuff.
I have tried a myriad of other recording software. It's really not FRAPS' fault. I'm running out of hd space and I'm also recording audio through FL. So things are easily busted. Most of the other ones I've tried (including camtasia) have busted harder, and faster ;p
Can resampling like this be done with Harmless instead of Harmor? Still using Sytrus like you have in this video? If so, could u please explain in here or maybe in a video? Thanks, your tutorials are awesome.
Could you just do a video explaining different kinds of basses and sounds ( like stereotypical sounds for each bass) and maybe stereotypical lead sounds? Also maybe just like some weird tips and tricks for making sounds and structuring the notes? That would be awesome, but could you please do the different types of sounds? Thanks! - Cyptek
Can you possibly try to create KOAN Sound's bass synth, they seem to use the same method you use. Or maybe just analyze it and create something similar? Thanks for the tutorials by the way! Very useful!
Thanks so much for these tutorials. The amount of free information is so damned useful, I went from jack shit when beginning to getting decent sounds. People don't suck all the time ;)
Well i use ableton too, and Operator and Sytrus just aren't mono synths imo... so i have no clue. But since Sytrus is native (built into fl), fl has it's own way of making it slide. Now, i haven't tried this but: try and mess around with the pitch bend on the sytrus, might be able to get some similar results
seamless mentioned something like right clicking the note to you want to slide to in the "piano roll" window and modifying the glide parameters in the given properties box. HOWEVER, im using Ableton with FL VSTs. Ive tried adjusting the clip envelope settings to turn portamento on/off and tried adjusting the portamento time under the midi properties and i get no results. ableton typically relies on the vst to implent the portamento setting like in massive or the operator. any suggestions?
I have a question.. everytime i want to make and LFO wobble sound in harmor, it doesnt retrigger and it screws up my sync.. do you know where/how can i make it so it retriggers or where do i find that option?
hi seamless, i would really like to learn everything you are doing in this tut, but when i try to drag the recorded sample from edison, to harmor, nothing happens. when i record in edison, my resampled file is white, not yellow like yours. is there any problem, with versions of fl studio or harmor?
I followed all the quality instructions but no matter what i lose width and volume slightly when i record and put it back into harmor. It's not edison either, the sample in edison is the exact same as the sound im getting from sytrus its so frustrating....
Are there any flaws when you're using Harmor as a vocoding carrier? I used it in my ''modulator dnb remix'' and i just want to know what can go wrong when using Harmor as a carrier.
Can anyone recommend some tutorial videos for someone who wants to start producing for the first time. Only played with FL for maybe a few hours total. Any help would be great. Looking at making industrial/dnb/hardcore :) Thanks in advance
Seamless, Where did you learn to use FL studio? Who/What did you learn from? How long have you been using FL studio? ~ Juss wondering :p (I HAVE BEEN WONDERING THAT FOR EVER) #creepy
I am REEEEAAAALLLY havin trouble making a drop. I'm in the Key of C using a harmonic minor scale and I have a build up and small vocal FX just before the drop but im just completely brain dead in the creation of my drop. Can anyone suggest any videos that helped you?
Maybe i can help.. sit down sometime and just make sounds. after that you go to your track and just try to add them to your drop one after another. when and how to use them will come by itself. atleast i did this "method" to make my track "time city" on my channel. :p
why dont u put some compression on your final video so there isnt a massive loudness difference between your voice and when u press the keys, blasts my ears, when i turn down cant hear voice...cant win :(
no harmless cant use samples, tbh your better off dragging the audio file from edison to the sampler, not really sure why seamless does it in harmor bcoz its mono.. unless u drag the left and right channels seperate and use the "A" and "B" parts in harmor which takes even longer.
You can either use slide notes in the piano roll by double clicking on the note and selecting "slide" or you can go into the channel settings window from the sequencer, select "misc" and enable mono and slide there.
Hey SeamlessR I just made my first 8 second intro bit for a TH-cam video and I have to say I couldn't have done it without your videos. You rock dude.

You need to have "on play" selected next to the record button on edison. Set that, hit record, and then play the loop in the playlist.
I love you man, more videos like this! I also agree with what others say, it would be great if you did a video with you making a track from scratch.
Make sure you are clicking on the button that I am when I drag the files. That is where the click and drag function comes from. The spectrum/waveform view that I'm using is just a view setting that you can set by right clicking the main window, selecting "view" and "dual view"
i remember when i first saw a video on the imageline website about harmor. i knew i need to have it :) great tut

i always get at least one laugh and one tip from every vid man, thank you!
FINALLY!...some f 'ing Harmor tutorials that TEACH me something!
Seamless, you can also just slap the Edison on the preserved "Selected" channel (to the right of Send 4), which is a sort of meta mixer channel. I usually put a wave candy and/or edison on there for analyzing and recording stuff.
My goodness your quite the genius dude
great video man. just like all the others. i would kill for you to stream a master class!!
Is there any way to glide/portamento inside Sytrus? I'm not big fan of piano roll gliding...
Welcome to a video I made a year ago. I (hopefully) have improved in this particular aspect, as it was a common problem back then.
Sounds like your audio source isn't being routed into the mixer insert with the edison in it.
I have tried a myriad of other recording software. It's really not FRAPS' fault. I'm running out of hd space and I'm also recording audio through FL. So things are easily busted. Most of the other ones I've tried (including camtasia) have busted harder, and faster ;p
None of this will be a problem after I build my new rig next month :3 rest assured.
love your videos .. very good teacher
15:29 ha ha ha! I get that too! - computers reminding us we are not in control of our lives!
This video answered most of my question. Thank you Seamless. :-D
0 dislikes, great video mate! awesome tips!
so sick dude !!!! you helped me so much
you're quickly becoming a national treasure. lol
thanks!

Damn,.... This is going to help me out a ton man, thanks!
Hey have you tryed using side b for the side signle yet? you can get some really nice sound doing that.
allright mate u know any additive synths similar to hamor for resampling, im on logic pro any ideas cheers good tut by the way
Спасибо) за видео-уроки)
Great! Harmor's Awesome!

Wow, i tried doing this with a growl... sounds AMAZING
Sounds kinda like a hardstyle kick

hey how can i make that it sounds like him, i mean when i press one note and then outher they are mixing togheter? thank you
One of these days I'll get that right
awesome, thanks for the reply
can you get sytrus and harmor in ableton and other daws other than fl.
Thanks!
yeah my laptop is 64gbs . i do all my fl on it. but i guess i need more ram. thanks for the tips
Seamless you are awesome
I Have a question. If your going to bass resample with harmor why start with syrtus ?
I don't have the markers when I record in Edison? Even when I make a loop on the workspace?
Any ideas?
Thank You!
I have a question.. everytime i want to make and LFO wobble sound in harmor, it doesnt retrigger and it screws up my sync.. do you know where/how can i make it so it retriggers or where do i find that option?

What are you talking about dude? You're leads are great!
Do you think you will have the chance to make a tutorial that normal mortals like us can do? Thanks!
Do I need edison to import? seams like I cant drag it into harmor without edison..
i am doing exactly the same, but harmor is just not accepting the sound file from the edison...
Arigato sensei
*Derp* lol. Nice tutorial man! I'm going through all of them (Best thing to do when you've got producers block right?!) right now.
how do i make sytrus mono and glide ???
Agreed!
is there a difference if i use my laptop when using UNISON.... im not getting the same qualities....seems like its crashing :(
Hi, My name is Seamless and this is Jackass! :D
I followed all the quality instructions but no matter what i lose width and volume slightly when i record and put it back into harmor. It's not edison either, the sample in edison is the exact same as the sound im getting from sytrus its so frustrating....
Yo I heard you like resamling so I resampled your sample so you can resample while you sample
Are there any flaws when you're using Harmor as a vocoding carrier? I used it in my ''modulator dnb remix'' and i just want to know what can go wrong when using Harmor as a carrier.
can this be done in alchemy???? too bad this is only for pc
how do he activate the legato option for glide notes in sytrus? O.o
Painkiller Beatz You can't it doesn't have the option.
i put slide notes in the harmor but it dont work. it dont slide :/ what can i do? what is wrong?
I have problem .. :/ When I have 2-3 harmors .. Its start lagging .. I dont have bad computer.. But I dont know , what to do with this.. :/
@Jay G: I agree
Can anyone recommend some tutorial videos for someone who wants to start producing for the first time. Only played with FL for maybe a few hours total.

seamless please help! I don't know how to change the line type in harmor :(
Seamless, Where did you learn to use FL studio? Who/What did you learn from? How long have you been using FL studio?
~ Juss wondering :p
(I HAVE BEEN WONDERING THAT FOR EVER) #creepy
Did you find it?
I know you're probably asked this a lot, but will Massive be featured in a how to bass tutorial eventually for all us Massive users out there? ;)
lol DEEERRPP
another great how to bass!
This should be fun
The principles remain, it's just that Harmor has specific FX etc.
google slide notes?
I can't find it man : /
I am REEEEAAAALLLY havin trouble making a drop. I'm in the Key of C using a harmonic minor scale and I have a build up and small vocal FX just before the drop but im just completely brain dead in the creation of my drop. Can anyone suggest any videos that helped you?

SuperFruityMusic thanks a ton
why dont u put some compression on your final video so there isnt a massive loudness difference between your voice and when u press the keys, blasts my ears, when i turn down cant hear voice...cant win :(
Drag the clip directly into the IMG window in Harmor.
gr8!
SOOOOOOOOOOOO JUNGLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
At :01 i was like eh... at :04 i was like OHHHHHHHH teach me!
I can't use Harmor because of OS X. Is it possible to use Serum for achieve similar results as in Harmor (what you showed in this how to bass 7)?
you can use your own bass and follow the technique! xD
you cant re-synthesis in serum, only harmor
Yes.
wooo hooo cheers boss
Is this thing free?
noisia?? 00:03
no harmless cant use samples, tbh your better off dragging the audio file from edison to the sampler, not really sure why seamless does it in harmor bcoz its mono.. unless u drag the left and right channels seperate and use the "A" and "B" parts in harmor which takes even longer.
So, he pretty much taught himself? Holy shit.
if they support vst's then yes you can.
Thank you. So fucking much.
i hate that this shit isn't available for mac -.-
i cant get the clip out of edison HEEEELP
