    I wonder what we can study about propulsion of those vorticella stalks. That looked pretty mind blowing, actually the whole video was mindblowing. This is the clearest microbiology I have ever seen, I'm a total newb, and this is going to help me with my morphology identification, thank you for your channel!

    Has anyone ever been able to film these cilia with a slow motion camera? I would love to see the individual cilia, if possible, and how exactly they move. Also at 8:46, they look like a bunches of delicate little bells, or flowers, they're very pretty in their own way.

    Great video as usual guys but just for your info, in the 17th century the word "divers" is just an archaic relation of "diverse" meaning many, several in number or of varying types. Not things that dive!

    Of these peritrich ciliates, mobile telotrochs use their trochal band, whereas the trophont sessilids use peristome cilia. Feels like I'm watching interdimensional cable.
