    Boxing for 15 years without wraps. Only time I had an issue was with worn King gloves with one knuckle because it developed a strange hard point. Because I really suck at wrapping I actually have more issues with wraps creating issues on my knuckles because the handwraps creating friction. Must say at my gym 90% uses wraps do :-)

    I don't know. In my gym most of those guys do half their training without and with wraps. Teaches you to have good form and make sure your joints are aligned when punching. But when doing pad work or sparring where you might not always hit directly in the knuckle, everyone will wrap their hands.

    I only use wraps on heavy sparring day. Normal training days I dont because we dont go 100%, much more like 60-70% and my hands are just fine at this intensity. I also think and believe if you dont wrap your hands theyre going to get stronger over time. Thats because they are going to be bruised often at the beginning and your body has to adapt and even micro fractures and lesions to the bone heal stronger, just like a shin would.
    I have sparred heavy without wraps some times tho and one of these times I had two very sore hands.. thats why on real sparring day I wear them.
    Ppl at my gym look at me like Im crazy because I dont lose 10 minutes wrapping my hands and even using sponges like some of them do.. its also very convenient for me because we train MMA so I have to switch gloves from boxing to mma and even to no gloves so the wraps just get on the way

    The million dollar question: How does ONX get away with a glove that is designed not to use hand wraps? Wrist and the base of the hand is sold like a cast but there is some movement around the top of the hand no matter how tight you tighten the straps.

    • @michaelplantus2261

      Max rey
      Imho for any of the other glove brands I can understand your point, as far as the Onyx that are designed specifically to wear with or without wraps is personally choice but have to keep in mind that it is definitely certified with over 3 years of research and development to meet expectations went into these particular style of Onyx gloves and on top of being designed to be totally different then the average glove with cast like fit and inside the glove is built in with a heating technology that in made to be heated and then worn worn while it cools of and sets to the individual exact shape of one's personal hands to wear. Once set its bespoke to the exact shape of the hands and is very comparable to how the boil and set mouth guards work, with both being snug tight with the intention of how the mouth guard doesn't move so it won't break teeth is the same idea with the hand being molded inside the glove so up font break any bones. Have yet to hear any complaints in that regard and has so far done what it was designed and intended to do. The end result being very effective just not as popular atm because it's hard for many ppl to switch to what they're used to and atm the only brand I've seen that does it is Onyx which are not cheap and 99% are made for hand wraps. The overall technology, time and quality built into the Onyx wrap less models should have zero issues injury wise and may even be just as good or better then conventional. it's just as many other things in life when something new and innovative comes out it can take a while to become popular like how they have very sleek pen size tattoo guns now but most artists still use the old skool version because there use to the feel but both get the job done. I like the good ol wraps and or gauze but I don't see any issues with that new Onyx design and it's optional to wear that model with or without them anyway. If they didn't incorporate that heat and set hand molding technology then maby but the design with that molding to is like a second reassurance and it looks quite bullet proof IMHO. The owner/maker breaks it down very well and he puts a lot into his brand, almost too bullet proof. I personally like a more sleek traditional style but for ppl with prior or present injurys it may be a good choice. The trillion dollar
      answer lol, anyways take care mon!!

      @maxrey4055 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelplantus2261 Have you tried the ONX? I have a pair and molded 3 times and still a gap in the hand. Those back straps don't cinch down enough over the upper portion of your hand closer to the knuckles.

      No not myself. Have not heard anything bad from anybody yet but its always good to hear other ppl's experience. If it does not do what it is intended to do then that may just defeat the purpose so I understand what your saying. Maby there can be different experiences depending on the individuals hand size and if size is not an issue and the molding doesn't work well along with the straps than that's not good. To much going on for my personal tastes. I hear ya though brother.
