I've been using cheap gloves all my life, but I only do boxing training for fitness. I would definitely upgrade if I was training to fight. Good video!
I bought a pair of Everlast faux leather bag gloves, barely lasted a month. My two pairs of genuine leather 16oz gloves from Fairtex and Raja Boxing have lasted 10 years and still going strong. Genuine leather gloves from a reputable brand are definitely worth if you're going to be training frequently and long-term.
The Everlast Elite was my first glove. It's not good by any means but it provides solid wrist support and good feedback when hitting the bag. Would recommend for someone starting out since it's very cheap and if you don't commit to boxing you don't lose out and you learn to understand what gloves would work for you when you buy a second one.
@csquaredboxing Hi. For kickboxing and Muay Thai professional fights, what 10oz lace-up gloves would you recommend for a 9.5-inch hand width size (all the way around the hand).
It seems alotta peeps are seeing this and jumping from Everlast straight to Reyes? A bit overkill for the weekend bagworker - thanks for shouting out other midrangers (like Sabas) in the vid. Also real sad only a few viewers are appreciating those Golombs as much as they should; those things are fuckin' Gucci!! 🥊🤤👌
I'm a casual boxer but more of a historian. Just do it for exercise mostly. I'll say, I did bagwork with cheap gloves for years, then I tried on one of my friends Reyes gloves and loved it. Got a pair myself, then I became infatuated with gloves. I love collecting them now and noticing the differences. And I like trying to get my hands on pairs worn by my favorite fighters. Idk, it's a weird hobby I have now. lol.
Cheap gloves are like cheap entry level golf clubs, very forgiving. Once you start using a pair of Cleto Reyes, the forgiveness ends, forcing you to improve your form or get hurt. Better gloves do lead to better boxing.
My first pair of globes was a really cheap one, made of synthetic leather, it stood up quite well for what it was. Then, I bought a pair of Everlast, don't remember the model, but they "everlasted" 3 months before crumbling into dirt, but I had to keep training with them because I couldn't really afford to upgrade, I was really pissed off with Everlast. This year I was able to purchase a pair of genuine leather globes (made in Spain by a local brand called "be humble or not, which is a trendy, hipstery brand, but the globes looked really good) and I have been training with those for a couple months now, 3 or 4 10-round sessions a week on either double-end bag or heavy bag, and I can finally say that I have a real pair of boxing globes. I think that I wont buy synthetic ones ever again, though I am a weekend bagworker (as someone said in the comments before) because I dont do competitive boxing, only train by myself, but the difference in feel, fit and finish on the leather globes is worth the extra money.
My first pair of gloves were those everlast gloves, exactly the same just different colors. I have been trying new gloves and the cleto Reyes are really amazing, but for me I love the wrist shield on the Everlast which pros never use. However I would choose to box in the cleto Reyes , but it is not significantly better just the right amount.
Not trying to be a know-it-all, but I do leathercraft. Just to make people aware, the term 'genuine leather' denotes a very low-grade leather. While it is real animal hide, it is low, or the lowest grade leather. Full grain or pure leather is much more desirable but often can be too thick for purposes of making boxing gloves.
A cheap glove can work for light drills. I would never use them for heavy bag punching or any serious drill, I understand a good glove can be expensive but it is even more expensive to get injured
I’ve had my red Ringside Super Bag Gloves for under 2 years and they’re still holding up really nicely. Anyone looking for some low to mid-range gloves, the Ringside SB gloves are great. $70 for them is a good price. Aside from a few scuff marks from the bags at the gym, they’ve held up quite nicely. I recently saved up for a pair of Hayabusa T3 Boxing Gloves. The wrist support in those are insane! I can wrap my knuckles more than my wrists because of the support I get from those gloves. Back in my teenage days of playing hockey, I got back checked and I landed on my arm, and broke my right wrist, so I needed a glove with ultra wrist support and the Hayabusa gloves give me less worry about hurting my right wrist.
Feel like people will crucify me for saying this but I think I got good value for money with my Adidas Hybrid 50. About the same price as the Everlast but has good foam and solid construction all around. I will whisper the blasphemous part: ((It has properties that could compare with the Cleto.)) Not the whole glove of course but certain aspects of it.
In South Africa we don't get many good gloves. I've been using Venum Challenger gloves which I always thought were okay... But I've just ordered a paid of Cleto Reyes training gloves (and paid through my a$$ for shipping) and I cannot wait !
What about Title and/or Ringside ? i have been buying from Title a few things anyway and i got a nice Contender Body snatcher bag (Uppercut) but gloves yeah i'm still trying to figure things out a bit bro. good vid as always
Ringside has been subpar for a few years now, nothing innovative, quality has gone down, and nothing new. Title has done a really good job of releasing new gear/ gloves that have the style and feel many look for and solid quality as well
I bought the exact same pair of wbc edition Reyes gloves ordered from Cleto Reyes in Mexico for my son. I wasn’t impressed right out the box the wbc logo was very crooked but that’s cosmetic so not a big deal. As far as lasting they lasted 11 months before he blew out the stitching, that’s not too bad considering most title, everlast, sting, venum off the shelf gloves last him 2-3 months. (He trains 4-5 hours a day mon-sat) we have switched to winning and haven’t looked back. The quality difference between Reyes and winning are worlds apart. The only issues with winning is you either have to order from Japan or work with Mr. Kazumichi in California and the wait time can be up to a year if you want custom or embroidery. The other issue is they are by far the most faked gloves bout their if you didn’t order them from Japan and wait or from Mr. Kazumichi they are definitely fake from Pakistan or China. I have spent a small fortune on boxing equipment and as far as gloves go for a serious boxer winning is what I’d suggest. Fit boxers, new boxers buy cheep, boxers who are just doing golden gloves not shooting for a national ranking guys who spend 1-2 hours 2-3 times a week Cleto Reyes are great if your living in the gym taking a shot at Olympic or professional boxing buy winning gloves.
The reyes gloves are my favorite. Do you think theres a big difference in the More expensive gloves to the reyes. Or would you just pick up a pair of reyes?
Just read the title to this video but haven’t got the chance to watch the video entirely. Just want to say, I made the switch from using Everlast’s powerlock gloves to using 16 oz Cleto Reyes training gloves and the change has been great! I love Everlast’s gloves too and I don’t mean to bash on them. The only thing that was a problem on the Everlast gloves is that they don’t last. After two months of use, the padding in the knuckles began to disintegrate. Thankfully, Reyes’ gloves haven’t done that. Hoping they last for much much longer.
Another great video brother. I would love to see a rating on durability, like if Reyes would last after ~60,000 punches compared to entry level Everlast that would break after 1,000. Looking forward to the next video tomorrow.
Thanks! It’s more expensive because it’s a niche product made by one person in a workshop. It’s like comparing a timepiece (Rolex, tag heur) to a regular citizen eco drive watch. Both essentially tell time, but the time piece has better quality and is meant to last a long time, sometimes passing down generations. The Golomb gloves are kind of like that, they use top grain leather, made by one person in Pennsylvania that comes from a family of glove and leather artisans (who also are the originators of Everlast). So you’re paying for the quality and just a higher end leather product. Not to say reyes isn’t top level, because they are.
Have both and it depends. I use my 14 Venums for bag work. The fake leather they use doesn't retain heat so it's great for long sessions and the ergonomics of the gloves work for mid workout push-ups and planks. I use my 20 oz infinitudes for sparring. Very comfortable premium quality for the price. Great for sparring because they are well balanced so you don't burn out your shoulders defending. Depends on what you want them for.
Hey Bro I'm not sure if my screen was messing up or my tint wasn't set right or not but when you picked up the Ever-shield glove I could have sworn it turned into sand and slipped through your fingers next to those REYES 🤣 lol ..all kidding aside Great Review ..P.S. I do love them both actually .. They both have their Pros & Cons . It's like comparing when I first started producing music on my first DAW ->Sony ACID, then I moved up to using Logic Pro but I'll never forget my first DAW ..much like my first Boxing Gloves .. Those Ever-Shields had such a Beautiful & Wonderful CRACK & POP that echoed throughout the Gym .. I gotta say though, I've never ever had any knuckle or wrist problems with my " 10 0z Title Classic Pro Fight Gloves " my FAV !!! 🥊🥊
these everlast gloves aren't that bad as you are saying. My everlast gloves saw 2 years worth of use 7 days a week, hundreds of rounds on the bag and sparring nothing came loose or got torn out. I got a better glove pair but i still have my cheap ass everlasts.
What do you think is the absolute best bag gloves for 13 year old kid with small hands weighing about 85lbs? Have you ever tried the Title soft strike gel gloves? That’s what I ordered him, just wondering if huh recommended something even better!! Thanks a million!!
For someone new to figure out if boxing or fighting sports is their thing, entry gloves are good. After a while, if u want to stay at the sports, a great leather glove that fits your hand great and lasts for years, youre gonna have so much more fun, even if youre not fighting, just training. You know, most of us wont have that much money to buy two or even one cleto reyes by that price point. But i do live in germany where cletos are way more expensive, around 250$. Offtopic: the colourway of the wbc cletos looks so damn sexy!

I love Everlast but those elite gloves are the worst feeling ones i had the chance to try, the padding felt like Eva foam, and they make your finger position kinda weird
Question: Shipped to my door the Cleto Reyes Training Gloves is about $75 more than a pair of Hayabusa T3 (regular version). I'll be using them for basic boxing training (no sparring), which would you recommend?
I'm a beginner but I went for the hayabusa t3 and the rival rb5 for heavy bag since I didn't want to go so cheap. Hopefully these are good bag gloves. I'm just doing it for fitness, not to be a boxer lol. Can you recommend some good jump ropes? I just got some cheap ones from Amazon which I don't think it would be good for long runs. Thanks in advance
You can also save up like $15 more and get the synthetic Everlast Powerlock, they are really good, used them for like 2 months and they still feel great. Awesome protection too, Also they could just get the Superior Boxing gloves if they have the cheap everlast.
I've got a pair of the everlast pro style elite Used them about 4 times for a bit of light pad work and a few round on the heavy bag. And the lining has ripped in the thumb. Making it hard to put on correctly
I started boxing 2 years ago and I got a pair of the everlast gloves. There an alright glove for beginners. 4 months in and about 2-3, 2 hour training sessions a week they had cracks and rips over then
Are Cleto Reyes too expensive for a newbie whose planning on doing some Amateur bouts.? I need something that’ll help for Bag/Spar/Ring but don’t want to go too cheap on the boxing gloves.
What are some alternatives to Everlast that are still cheap but decent in your opinion looking for some new gloves but I don't want to splurge because honestly can't afford to splurge 😂
Would a more expensive glove typically protect my knuckles and stabilize my wrist more? Just started boxing and i always had weaker wrists and my knuckles are starting to bother me. Considering upgrading my gloves.
Speaking from experiences i work at a fight store. Higher price don't always mean better if im going to be honest most fairtex is not as good as a cheaper brand like rdx its a personal opinion I just don't like the way fairtex feel. The best brands I've used(and I've used many of them) are pro-mex, title, fighting brand, and combat crnr
Just ordered cleto extra padding (£210) in 14oz (assuming they'll be more like 16½oz?) But the shop is messing me around and I may cancel. With a budget of around £200-300ish what glove would you buy for heavy bag work 5 times aweek and light sparring (for fun). I'm 6ft and 100kg but really don't want 18-20oz gloves 😉😂.. All advice will be appreciated!!
@@csquaredboxing lol I wish I could afford the winnings £465 in 16oz 🤣 closest I can get to a fly set is the fly superloop training but they are £375? Just saw the superloop X though £180 synthetic?? Are they worth it?
I had a pair of the Everlast elite which are bag gloves. And broke the right hand glove in 2 months plastic started falling out the Reyes gloves I have are beautiful.
Love your reviews man. I been bouncing around your channel and I'm debating on pulling the trigger on Winning ms500's for $414, Cleto Reyes Lace-up training gloves, Rival RB-10's, or the new Rival Intelli-shock Guerreros. For now, I'm focusing on strictly bag work cause of COVID, and I'm having so much trouble making a decision!
Everlasts are ok but there's better choices for just a bag workout.(i personally like venums) Id love to have some reyes but i probably wouldn't use them. They would just hang on my wall
Can anyone in the comments help me out. I bought Rival Boxing gloves. The standard 16 oz to train. Are these good? I also have the Everlast but I don't really like it.
I have those Everlast idk why he calls them really cheap for me they work really well and I’ve been having them for like 4 months the only cheap part is the strap but other than that they’re really good.
I think he calls them cheap because they are the economical choice that one can obtain for less money🤔 You'll notice Carlo's wearing the Everlasts in the 'Nazo DEB review', so clearly he ain't hatin' on 'em... But really... there IS a difference, and the sayin 'you get what you pay for' holds true in MOST scenarios of life.
Used to compete…tried title boxing gloves, pro mex and everlast. Winning and cleto cost too much for me personally as I was getting minimum wage and paying for my coach and gym membership. I’ll tell you that you can feel a difference with certain gloves but it won’t make you Floyd mayweather or Roy jones jr. If you can afford only cheaper ones then a $30 would be fine. I’ve seen dudes get litt up with all kinds of gloves…..if you are competing then maybe invest in proper gloves to fight in.

Offtopic: the colourway of the wbc cletos looks so damn sexy!
👍🏼🥊💯
Hey bro love the vid should I get soze 12 or 14 or 16 Oz boxing gloves I was thinking about getting everlast POWERLOCK TRAINING GLOVE 16oz or
Everlast intermediate Training - Level II
And just another question should I get boxing 100lbs bag EVERLASTEverlast Powercore Elite 4ft Heavy Boxing Bag or should I go heavier what do you honesly think would like to hear from a expert please help??
16 and the 100 lb bag is a good size
I love Everlast but those elite gloves are the worst feeling ones i had the chance to try, the padding felt like Eva foam, and they make your finger position kinda weird
Question: Shipped to my door the Cleto Reyes Training Gloves is about $75 more than a pair of Hayabusa T3 (regular version). I'll be using them for basic boxing training (no sparring), which would you recommend?
I prefer the Reyes
@csquaredboxing Size question: I'm 5'7" 150 lbs, do I get a 12 oz or 14 oz for bag work?
Yup
I don't like the mesh designs on the newer gloves. I am quite happy with my vintage laceless Tuf Wear 12oz ones.
🥊👍🏼
What do you think about Pride gloves...are they any good? Thanks man
Haven’t tried them yet so couldn’t tell you
I've got a pair of the everlast pro style elite
Used them about 4 times for a bit of light pad work and a few round on the heavy bag. And the lining has ripped in the thumb. Making it hard to put on correctly
I use 20$ cheap Amazon gloves for training then I go to some 90$ venum gloves for sparring
Nice setup!
I like reyes gloves
Me too!
Hi would u recommend Cleto Reyes training gloves or some fly x Superloops
Two different types of gloves, depends on the style you prefer
What gloves are good for someone with bad wrists? I been using those cheap everlast gloves and now my wrists hurt. Whenever I hit the bag too hard.
I started boxing 2 years ago and I got a pair of the everlast gloves. There an alright glove for beginners. 4 months in and about 2-3, 2 hour training sessions a week they had cracks and rips over then
👍🏼🥊
Are Cleto Reyes too expensive for a newbie whose planning on doing some Amateur bouts.? I need something that’ll help for Bag/Spar/Ring but don’t want to go too cheap on the boxing gloves.
No, and too expensive is relative to your budget. Nobody else’s. If you can afford them, then get reyes, very nice gloves for the money.
What are some alternatives to Everlast that are still cheap but decent in your opinion looking for some new gloves but I don't want to splurge because honestly can't afford to splurge 😂
Check out infinitude
@@csquaredboxing thanks man
Everlast are actually really good boxing gloves for the price
👍🏼
in your opinion what is the best glove to get from the $40 - $60 range ? Tryna get a good glove for a cheap price
Venum impact
@@csquaredboxing thank u man!!!
Would a more expensive glove typically protect my knuckles and stabilize my wrist more? Just started boxing and i always had weaker wrists and my knuckles are starting to bother me. Considering upgrading my gloves.
yes
Dam bro I seen you in the gym for a min now you blown up on youtube and ig dope 👍👍
Thanks bro
Speaking from experiences i work at a fight store. Higher price don't always mean better if im going to be honest most fairtex is not as good as a cheaper brand like rdx its a personal opinion I just don't like the way fairtex feel. The best brands I've used(and I've used many of them) are pro-mex, title, fighting brand, and combat crnr
Thanks for sharing
Well that's an interesting take RDX over fairtex, and pro-mex, title, and fighting are all the same brand
how about winning vs golum vs grant? 🤔
Very good matchup
Just ordered cleto extra padding (£210) in 14oz (assuming they'll be more like 16½oz?)
But the shop is messing me around and I may cancel. With a budget of around £200-300ish what glove would you buy for heavy bag work 5 times aweek and light sparring (for fun). I'm 6ft and 100kg but really don't want 18-20oz gloves 😉😂..
All advice will be appreciated!!
For that budget I’d go winning or fly superlace in 16 ounce
@@csquaredboxing lol I wish I could afford the winnings £465 in 16oz 🤣 closest I can get to a fly set is the fly superloop training but they are £375?
Just saw the superloop X though £180 synthetic??
Are they worth it?
I had a pair of the Everlast elite which are bag gloves. And broke the right hand glove in 2 months plastic started falling out the Reyes gloves I have are beautiful.
Yeah Reyes quality is usually top notch
Venum wbc gloves vs Cleto Reyes wbc gloves...which is better ?
Comfort and performance venum. Quality Reyes
Got both cheap and medium priced gloves as the cheap hurt the hell outa my hands on the bag
👍🏼🥊
Cheap loves are great for double bags or reflex bag. You won’t need someone to lace you up.
👍🏼🥊
Love your reviews man. I been bouncing around your channel and I'm debating on pulling the trigger on Winning ms500's for $414, Cleto Reyes Lace-up training gloves, Rival RB-10's, or the new Rival Intelli-shock Guerreros. For now, I'm focusing on strictly bag work cause of COVID, and I'm having so much trouble making a decision!
Thanks man! Get winning and be done with it
Everlast are owned by sports direct a discount sports store chain based in the uk always cheap
👍🏼🥊
Crawford Uses Everlast When He Fights So I use Everlast All Day When I Train or Spar.
👍🏼
Can you recommend good bag gloves? Size and brand
Rival guerrero hdef bag gloves 10 ounce
csquaredboxing Thank you. Will look into those
The "Cheap ones" Are more expensive than my main ones
Any good gloves that’s more short don’t go up your wrist so much?
Infinitude raptor
Everlast really feel off, for such an important iconic brand in boxing its sad to see their brand be devalued bu such poor quality gloves
Been using Rivals RB bag gloves for ten years and have never found better for myself
Nice!
Everlasts are ok but there's better choices for just a bag workout.(i personally like venums) Id love to have some reyes but i probably wouldn't use them. They would just hang on my wall
Definitely
Shout out to John Golomb !!! 🥊🥊
Can anyone in the comments help me out. I bought Rival Boxing gloves. The standard 16 oz to train. Are these good? I also have the Everlast but I don't really like it.
Depends on the model
If you go with top boxer I highly suggest getting the Aliens in 16 Oz. Been using them for awhile now and love them more than my Win1's lol
👍🏼🥊
I had a pair of everlast gloves and lasted me 1 week and by the 2 week they were destroyed. So yeah definitely spend a bit more to get quality gloves
For sure
That damn Velcro on the Everlast glove had some fight in it boy😂...
Didn’t want to give in!
How can I get that reyes color??🥊🥊
It was a limited release by Reyes
Those WBC gloves look so good.
Agreed
I ripped the everlast after 3 months.
Yup lol
I have those Everlast idk why he calls them really cheap for me they work really well and I’ve been having them for like 4 months the only cheap part is the strap but other than that they’re really good.
Cool man glad you like them!
csquaredboxing oh shit😂 you answered I’ve been watching you for a long time
csquaredboxing love your review bro but can you make a video of things all boxers need
csquaredboxing I would really enjoy that!
I think he calls them cheap because they are the economical choice that one can obtain for less money🤔
You'll notice Carlo's wearing the Everlasts in the 'Nazo DEB review', so clearly he ain't hatin' on 'em...
👍🏼
Bro if it protects your hands from breaking, thats good gloves.
Oh ok cool 👍🏼
Price only I tot
