- In Episode 19 Ben joins us to chat about running Dalscone Farm, what parts of the business are booming, and what parts are being left behind, and he's updating us on the world's loneliest sheep, Fiona.

That’s the one thing I have admired about Dalscone is they do take a day of rest on Sunday to recharge and spend time with their families and/or go to Church. They all work so hard!

I came to love Dalscone from the birth of Pumpkin ❤❤❤ and then we had the birth of Winston ❤❤❤ I never miss a live stream, I often rewatch on catch-up when I have insomnia. I live alone, mainly 95% bed bound, so hear the Best families voices more than my own families voices. It also helps so much with my depression and isolation, as the Dalscone team are sweet, kind, caring, supportive and inspiring. Top that with all the cute and loving animals and new births, it's perfect for lots of us. I was lucky enough to visit the opening day last year and want to attend for my 50th birthday this year. The Park is completely disabled friendly too ❤❤❤ My favourite place on earth xXx

You definitely are not alone! I have mobility and isolation issues as well. I am a farm girl at heart and this content is a real blessing for me.

It’s interesting how I’m not up to date on happenings in my own community here in Minnesota, USA, but was telling my sister the other day about two porcupines who escaped from Dalscone Farm in Scotland and were recaptured in a housing area two miles from the farm. It has its drawbacks, but social media can work for the good and connect you to all parts of the world and let you get to know other folks and see what their lives are like. I love watching Cammie shearing sheep, Farmers Pete, Ben, and Connor delivering lambs and kids, Cannon Hall Farm and their beautiful Shire horses, and Hall Hill Farm and their Highland cattle. Thank you to all of these farms for sharing their lives with us!
Been watching Dalscone lives since before Ben got married. They are the most dedicated and humble people I've run across in my 70+ years
Dalscone farm and the Best family have done a great job intergrating her slowly with other sheep to give her a real normal sheep life. They left her alone in a pen for a few weeks to keep her comfortable. They then added 2 very friendly sheep that were hand raised on the farm. Slowly introducing more sheep and even babies over the past few months. Recently, the little herd have been moved outside to graze in the fields. It has been a very thoughtful transition for Fiona.

So nice to see a family business that honors the Lord’s Day! Notice how they have been blessed for their faithfulness.
It would be very appropriate to do a documentary on Fiona for the 1 year anniversary of her rescue with her current condition.
I've been so looking forward to this podcast, and it didn't dissapoint. The craic was amazing and so funny, would love a podcast with all the guys that rescued Fiona including Ben would be awesome.
Dalscone is amazing and it's so touching to see the love and support they give the animals, the animals are so cheeky but adorable as well as showing love to the farmers. I love seeing the animals giving kisses, cuddles and biting of bums buy Bailey the donkey 😂. And scary mary needs her own channel 🤣.

I agree with you stating certain content being more successful and profitable, but IMHO it takes interesting people to make their content successful. A good on-line personality that draws people in, keeps them involved and wanting them to see more seems to be important to me. The Hoof GP is not only very good and knowledgeable, but his personality is what sets him apart from other on-line hoof trimmers.

I started watching the videos with Dalscone. I've been watching a while then I heard the story about Fiona the world's loneliest sheep. What a great story. What draws me into watching the farm is how well the farmers take care of their animals. I love how they talk to them kindly or even scold them a bit when needed. 😄 There's so many great animals with lots of different personalities.
I found dalscone farm through pumpkin being born and its the most entertaining stream out there and fellow dalsconies are the best

Dalscone has basically saved me from complete boredom! Ever since Covid. Cammy and Ben together are hilarious! As for the goat with 6 kids, we are really hoping for the best with Whinnie! If anyone can get her there with 6 healthy kids, it is Ben, Pete, The Grim Reaper (iykyk) C Side and the group! They care so much about their animals, and their animals love them.

I have often thought this Farmer Ben and Farmer Pete, have you ever thought of putting your back catalogue of videos onto TH-cam? I was thinking about this to help you get your silver plaque, advertisement revenue for the hard work you have already done, but also for someone like me with disabilities, I often go back and watch videos a few time's and don't like that people can tell I'm awake on Facebook, when I have depression and want to be left alone, and just want to enjoy Dalscone video's in peace, not people messaging me. I think it would be great for people with mental health issues, who can watch without being bothered or upsetting not responding to messenger. ❤ xXx

I had a friend who was a farmer. They were often accused of being rich because of the land they owned. They always said all their money walked on four legs or grew out of the ground. They were land rich, but pound poor.

How nice to see both Cammy and Ben in the same spot I don’t have to go to two separate channels to watch them. Both Cammy is a more rough and tumble slide in the mud kind of guy and Ben is a bit more refined and polite. It’s a great mix, and I would highly recommend both of them as great entertainment, and good farmers were responsible and conscientious in what they do.❤❤

I came across Dalscone through Fiona and the "other guys" protesting outside Dalscone when Fiona was supposed to go there. I looked into both parties and thought the "other guys" weird, whereas I could see Dalscone were proper farmers, and very transparent. And I have been following them every since.

Finally getting round to watching this podcast, thought I would start with the "Best". Been a Dalscone supporter for a year now and was following for a couple of months before taking the leap to supporting. Haven't missed that small amount every month because the content is just so good.

The podcast was absolutely brilliant! You've done an excellent job there, and very interesting with sharing some more about you, your past, your experiences and your own perspectives on social media, your businesses, the whole Fionagate and the evolution ahead. It was captivating.
English isn't my first language so I had to use automatic captions to read what Cammy was saying, farmer Ben and Iona I get fine, but not even the english caption was transcribing the words correctly :)
Oh Iona! That was the best burn! Loved it! Such a wonderful podcast. You all interact so well. You clearly have the heart of a Dalsconie. We adore our Farmer Ben and Cammy too but it's important to take the Mickey out of them just a bit to keep them humble. Brilliant!

if a farmer works hard his/her whole life and is fortunate enough not to suffer any catastrophic losses due to uncontrollable circumstances like drought, freezes, fires, diseases... anything... what would be so wrong with them being able to live comfortably in their elder years? they deserve, more than most, to benefit from their hard work... after all, they do take care of us all
