The other day I got some UNBELIEVABLE footage of my tortoise laying eggs. We also went around and fed ALL the tortoises and put the GoPro on Ike for the day!

Hey Tortoise Whisperer. You've inspired me to adopt a neglected tortoise who lived in a fish aquarium. The tank was so small that she couldn't even turn around. It genuinely made me feel so bad. She's currently chilling on a heating pad in my basement, I made a little enclosure for her. She loves her veggies! I can't wait for spring so she can experience freedom for the first time. I'm going to install a small barrier fence so she can explore the yard as she pleases.

I legit want my retirement job to be a tortoise sanctuary. I just want a bunch of torties and a couple dogs and for them to love each other and love me.

I rescued a baby spiny softshell. She was so thin and weak with yellow spots all over. I already have a male who is doing great, so I took a chance. We let her dry in the sun and dabbed a little peroxide on the yellow spots. 3 months later she is almost healed and plump like my male. We are attached now as I noticed she responds to my voice and loves to be held. Keep up the good work buddy!!!

I love how they “graduate” from popping out of eggs, to baby pen, to the yearling enclosure etc. To the regular back garden, and then finally to Ike’s level of freedom 🤣 just wander around and make a 40ft den wherever he likes between wow session 🤣

I had a tortoise at home for more than 30 years. I grew up with her. She used to travel with us inside a shoe box in the car, letting her going for some walk in the stops. She used to go to the kitchen asking for food, and she came when I called her with some food. She passed away last year. It was so sad. I'm glad you're taking so good care of these beautiful buddies.

This is definitely one of the very best channels on TH-cam. Absolutely wonderful content, dude. What you are doing is really really great. Teaching people about taking care of animals helps to promote a healthy view of life and the world.
I've never been into ASMR or anything the past few years, but I swear the sound of these tortoises chomping on salad is just the most wholesome satisfying sound. I could literally fall asleep with such joyous contentment knowing they're happy and healthy.

Honestly being from and living in Arizona I absolutely love these guys! I have one that Ive had since my oldest brother found her floating along the side of the road after an AZ monsoon about 15 years ago and she's my baby! I want to have lots more eventually! I love that I found you so I can see and learn how you handle them also being in Arizona!
When my oldest brother who found her left for Hawaii he obviously couldn't take her with so he gave her to my middle brother who knew NOTHING about torts and only gave her iceberg lettuce for a while and kept her inside, after finding her with soft shell I took her and threw her outside with fruits and the correct greens and she is now flourishing and growing so strong, her shell is 1000x better and she absolutely love snuggles and head rubs! I've had her for about 4 years myself and she's so much bigger and happier, I'm ready for more but am worried about how she will react to them if I do

The tortoises seemed calm and secure. Even when you picked up and carried Rhino, he seemed only curious, not defensive. So funny to hear their chorus of chomping on their lettuce.

Whenever my friends ask me why I have a leopard tortoise, I always just pill up a video of him eating. I know they don't really do much, but the little guy has gotten me through tough times, and has even made me work on my woodworking skills building an enclosure!

I'm so glad your channel was in my Recommendations! I grew up with a big brother who LOVES reptiles, so I kinda got to love them, too, being a real science geek. I absolutely LOVE watching your videos, they're very relaxing and the tortoise babies are uber-cute.
I never thought I'd ever want a tortoise as a pet until I saw those babies. They will literally live through your whole life as long as you take care of them properly.

Just love this…I have two tortoises adopted years ago because a friends tortoise laid eggs, hence many babies, and some of us teachers were recruited to adopt. My tortoises are clever; they know their names as well…Polly and Molly..I also have a Russian tortoise left to me by a friend who died. She is called Philomena…I love them so much and each time I feed them I realize just how smart they are…what great friends for a retired 77 year old art teacher…since I am getting on in age I worry in their regard…I do not think my children will want them or even know how to take care of them properly…finding your site was a blessing…thanks for all you do for these special animals…

These guys don't actually hibernate 😁 Some tortoises do hibernate but a few tortoise species like Leopards, Redfoots, yellowfoots, and sulcatas actually do not. 🐢

How much calcium do you give the baby’s each day? And I love your videos keep it up
I feed the babies one meal every three days but I only add the calcium once a week (so every other feeding). They mainly eat on their grasses and hays every day 😁🐢
