I do it simply... wash and soak mong beans for a couple of hours. Place them in a colander lined with a damp kitchen towel. Cover. Next day, run for several minutes cold water through them. Cover. Repeat the same in the evening. Continue for 2 days. In between replace the kitchen towel because growth of fungus is a real possibility. The morning of the 4th day, you have perfect sprouts. Before eating them raw, say, in a salad, thoroughly rinse them. I do so, even if I am cooking them.
Thanks for sharing this technique, because 1) I don’t have to buy plastic cups, and 2) who the hell has that tool he used in the beginning to make holes in the bottom of the cups?! Lmfao!

That's such a resourceful idea! Growing bean sprouts in plastic cups is a fantastic way to repurpose everyday items for something so wholesome and healthy. It's always amazing to see how a little bit of care and attention can transform simple seeds into lush, nutritious sprouts. Plus, it's a great project that combines sustainability with the joys of gardening, even in small spaces! 🌱✨
Using disposable cups is the actually the opposite of "repurposing everyday items". There's nothing "resourceful" or "sustainable" about using a pile of single-use plastic to grow the same sprouts a million other videos on TH-cam grow in a regular bowl or jar.

Im on day 5 and in comparison to your video my sprouts look like day 2 or at a push, day 3. Followed your method exactly. Fresh pack of dried mung, soaked overnight and the rest. Perhaps its too cold, temp inside is perhaps 20 average. I'll give them another 48 hours max. Thank you though, your method looks good. Maybe I'll try once more from scratch.
Do you soak it 3 times a day every day for those 4 days? And like a previous poster asked, what is that black material? Is it some kind of cloth, like an old tea towel?
Just soak the beans overnight in like warm water, take a tray line it with piece of clean damp cloth, cover it with another clean damp cloth, forget it for two days, done.
What I dont understand is, WHY NOT EXPLAINED how long the beans need to sook in the first place, and why not told what kind of cloth you used on the beans...For the rest it must be easy...(not sure but Ill wait and see..!)
there's no need to do all this, just keep them in water overnight, next day morning drain all the water and keep them packed in wet cloth, open the cloth on 2nd day morning, they will have grown their roots by then...
I tried this - but nowhere near the result you showed. I think my plastic containers were slightly wider at the base and while I used fabric on top - that didn't seem to make the sprouts push up. I've watched your video again and can see where I can improve - need to know about the importance/quality/weight of the black fabric (dyes?) or will any scrunched up healthy non black fabric ( does it need to have some density/weight?) to create the same result?
@@ST-us7kq It's been interesting trying out the different growing techniques & your reply confirms the easier process & what I arrived at, too... will do that now & thanks so much for your feedback...

But why cloth catches fungus but tissue paper don't ??

unless you like stinky sprouts, that's disgusting
That won't work. Tips go thin brown and smell.
What do u call that heating tool that you use to pierce the cup? That's why my bean sprouts don't come up straight ! It need to be waithgted down.
