- Touching on some NEW MODS on CONSOLE in Baldur's Gate 3 + the famous CHEATER'S RING! To answer the question, I'm beginning on how common mods will be added to console, It seems like they're working on them daily.
This is great news for people that want to add a bunch of new things to their game because there will be a long list of these as they get updated frequently. There's already a good number of mods available for console players and more coming, so stay tuned as I'll be covering all things modding when it comes to console. the cheat ring is so fun to play around with especially when i’m 2k hours into the game. nuking bosses with an atomic fireball and getting accidental tpk’s are the best i fear

Alternatively, cheaters fireball + damage immunity to nuke your own location, then laugh at the charred corpses around you. Cheaters Fireball is also good for ending encounters before you actually encounter them.
I had a *very* explosive Durge mini-run. Called him the Nuke Urge. Broke the game a few ways.
Very cathartic.
I can't get over one of the cheats was just automatic Soap. Having op cheat abilities can use as scrolls just opens the door to fun. It'll be useful for killing time until actual mods can release.
I'd really like if we got more races and classes, Artificer gun is absolutely required because of the short where Gale has a Glock.
Seeing most of the mods are just hair it's a little disappointing
@@clevergoblin1714 I'd honestly like to see a mod that's just the cheaters ring versions of soap and destroy water. One to clean up the party and the other for mopping up all those unsightly bloodstains.
Why not just use the cheaters ring for those and ignore the rest? Because I have zero self control.

I'm beginning to think Larian managed to convince Sony to accept external assets since all mods need to pass though an approval process to be added to the mod database in order to make sure no funny business or instability, so that's some quality control absent from Bethesda games, which prevented PlayStation from having mods with external assets.
Let's see how it goes.

@@ghostlyswat12 if Sony walks back on the external assets thing, Xbox will probably be untouched. If anything, it might speed up the process of approval for mods on Xbox if they follow the same guidelines as Bethesda games.
We shall see. For now, I think Larian really did manage to get external assets greenlit for mods, as long as they don't involve scripts, .dll or .exe files.

I mean Xbox has allowed them for years and there’s been little to no reports of trouble
Like say they could allow scrip mods if larian does extra checking of them validating all the script etc

Cheat ring mod is easily the best one added by far in my opinion. The ability to make any build right at the start of the game is something I’ve been wanting for so long now

@@elijahalvarado4623honestly the double xp mod is great for getting builds online quickly. I think you can get lvl 12 or close to it by the time to get to act 2

Just a heads up about the cheat ring, toggle off the extra damage and don't use any super OP spells on the moonrise fight with Thorm, I ended up softlocking my run, had to start all over

You won't get the dice for honour mode with mods on, I'm sorry. Unless the mod that allows you to get achievements with mods on comes to console but it's highly unlikely@@Samurai_Stoner
One thing I dont see mentioned about the cheaters ring is that every ability costs no action to use. So not only do you have a super strong misty step, you can use it to zip around the battlefield dozens of times per turn if you want.

@@JasonDunna I might have missed it, but regardless it needs more pointing out hah. I've used the free action misty step specifically when I otherwise wasn't cheating (much) but wanted that extra 1 foot of distance to a target, or near the end of battle to loot the entire field because it would be more complicated after battle.
I’m pretty confident that a very large chunk of mods you see for pc will be for console, not all of them, but very large chunk
There’s 2000 on PC right now and 76 on console, I think the best will come but it’ll take a while for them all to get tested and approved
You're just rolling these out man, I love it. This next playthrough will be strictly roleplaying if I can start with the cheaters ring, huge news. I think I saw one for a blood mage/sorcerer but it's only on PC I believe currently, I'm waiting for that one if you have any details
I have build guides for both the blood mage and blood sorcerer! The blood sorcerer is a really great mod, so fun to play as. They will be coming within a couple weeks I believe

If you own the game on PC and console as long as it’s in game assets, get what you want from cheating type stuff like rings all armor all the weapons and then save your game and load your game on console and it won’t disable any achievements

@@JasonDunna The cheat ring will allow a kind of round about random loot playthrough. Like generate an item from the BG3 wiki of the same rarity of the magic item you found out in the game world or shops
So I might roll RNG using an online RNG thing to decide if I find head gear, chest gear, back gear, etc. Then another to determine what it is
So if say I get a green item like uh ... Absolute gloves of power. I will randomize a green item, because it's also green then spawn it in
Although it won't be as convenient as REL mod

I cheated so damn hard with my Nuke Urge that I broke the game. Like, I literally ended chapter 1 then woke up dead in the debug room.

@@MasterDracerwell it doesn’t affect levels as far as I can tell but being able to outfit your characters in nearly every item in the game is pretty damn close to NG+ and there’s also a mod for double xp but your already breaking the game completely in terms of difficulty with just the equipment lol

The dice rolls are my favorite part! Some of the fails are actually hilarious. Like saving the tailor in act 3
Been playing ascended vampire and Mystic classes, the mystic class absolutely slaps vanilla, and finally I have a useful gale with the spell blade.
The mystic is seriously so fun. Endless fun with 63 disciplines
@JasonDunna facts I'm running the crimson harvest and phantasmal mind, and I feel like a character ripped right out of barovia.
I can’t use the spellblade for some reason, I want gale to be spellblade but I can’t figure out what’s preventing me from doing it

Cheater's ring is nice for getting duplicates of some gear you only get once per run. Though I think a full party mod right now is almost enough for me at the moment, so I'll probably just use it to grab a few nice things; and loot that I can't get on a good run.
That is a solid idea and I agree, you can also keep summoning the chest to take more of an item

I found your channel just the other day. Really like what you’re doing, and the way you present things, definitely be my go-to source for anything BG3 related, which I am new to on PS5. Think I’ll leave out the cheat ring for my first play through or two, but definitely use it later on.

Enjoy your first playthrough, this game is perfect. Then mod it to your hearts content after! Sometimes the most fun experiences are failing a dice roll hahaha.

I haven't fully jumped back into the game with mods but with all camp clothes and dyes and the cheaters ring for mainly gear, I think I have what I need to continue playing now at least for my current character.
Two very powerful items in the NFSW mod (on Nexus). It's mostly a clothing mod but there are some powerful items. Ignoring some items that give huge bonuses, three sneaky good items are these. First, a ring that replenishes spell slots, that is very strong indeed, some may think that game-breaking. Second is a circlet (head slot) that allows you to cast create water as a bonus action, which is really strong if you are going with a caster class and want to cast create water and then abuse the wet condition with a cold or electric spell in the same round. The last item is a weapon (you get a choice of several) that allows you to cast freezing magic missiles. This too is very useful early on, through Act 1 and much of Act 2, if you want to preserve spell slots.
Remember, if you want to use this mod, get the items you want from the bag just above your head when you begin the game. Do this and everything works fine. Trying to open the bag later on (especially post-nautiloid) tends to hang the game.

There's also a setting on the cheaters ring, thay lets you use its abilities even after you take it off

Really like that mods are showing up on console. Hope they get some of the ones I play on t he console soon. Seeing the Become a Vampire Mod jump from 23 likes to 450 in one day is insane. Is it that much better than Vampire Origion or just because it is the only vampire mod on PS5 and XBox?

Not ashamed to say I've been using the cheat ring for misty step and gold lol. Won't use it for some of the stuff like immune to all damage though because what's the point of gameplay atp imo but yeah great for stuff like that.
Not that gold is really a problem but with weightless consumables, why not more gold lol

Ahhh. Turn based mode. Thanks for that. I was just straight emptying out the summoned chests from the cheaters ring and getting swamped in too much gear, lol. I've also been running around the druids Grove for over an hour selling off that gear, leveling one character one level, then bam, back to selling, just to get rid of that gear, lol. You can also find more cheaters rings in the Grove if you want to straight break the game by slapping those rings on your companions.
Now I just need a better xp mod because the double xp mod doesn't seem to work for me. I could get to level like 260 on the pc before patch 7 bricked my entire bg3. 😢
Yeah turn based is important so it doesn’t crash the game when the chest disappears!
You can get more rings from the tutorial chest too!
@@JasonDunna I just didn't even think of using turn based mode. The weapon box disappeared on me like three times before I swooped everything outta dat box and the jewelry box, lol.
That cheat ring solves a lot of my problems. Now if we can have unlimited spell slots, instant full approval from party members, and that polyamory mod so I can have the girls as harem. Then I can restart the game with the mods. I don’t care about getting the trophies.

And be the only alternative to Ghastly Ghouls, because i wanted to play a lich for Halloween. Thats not coming to console, so atleast i can be a vampire.

@@JasonDunna on Nexus the modder for Ghastly Ghouls straight up said they wouldn't be adapting it for the in-game mod manager. Most mods may come, but the one I wanted most won't lol
as a ps5 player I am sooooo excited the patch is finally here. love your videos covering all of this stuff. im curious- how do mods show up on the mod manager? like, do they have to be approved by larian? do they get posted as soon as they're approved or something? does the mod manager get updated in batches or one at a time as they're ready to be posted? sorry if my terminology is really bad im totally new to modding in games. ive actually never cared about mods at all but I am so excited to go crazy with mods in bg3 and im just curious if I should check for new mods like every day or once a week or something

I like your videos for BG3 console update mods. Since EA, I've only ever play BG3 on PC thru GeForce. Since learning mods are coming to PS5, I can buy the game instead of a whole new PC to scratch the modding itch 😊. Off topic....do you have or get heartburn during recording? I still need to get the achievement of beating the game in honor mode, but I have already activated some mods, I just have to deactivate them and start another game again so that it can tell me the achievements again? thank you very much for your work
I think if you disable mods it should be good again but I’m not sure. How far is your honor mod playthrough? Might be worth restarting or trying to get another achievement to test it
2 things you didn’t mention is 2 do you need to be in turn based then on or is it each time summon chest enter turn based then equip a item then repeat every time or do you need to just do it once and done ? Second is can you equip a 2 handed sward and use it. Like if I equip a bow on a Druid I can’t use it because I need to be perficiant in bow and Druids arnt naturally perficiant in so I need to level up or wear something like bow gauntlets. Do perficiantcy in things no longer apply so you can wear any armor weild any weapon and it won’t limit you like it would if your playing normally?
Turn based prevents the chest from disappearing and crashing your game
The Ring sadly doesn’t give any proficiencies. Take a single level in fighter to get to all
@@JasonDunna ok so you’ll still need to like level up or equip something else that allows you to be perficiant in armors and weapons before you can really use them? I know if you wear like medium armor and your playing a character who’s not perficiant in it you can’t cast certain spells or do certain abilities because of that and need to take it off or unequip it that’s true with armor as it is with the weapons? Just like you said you can’t use weapons till your perficiant in it you can’t wear armor unless your perficiant in it ?
I love the idea of using flesh to gold and setting up enemies as trophies in my camp. Is that still doable?

Unfortunately can’t get multiplayer to work with the mods on ps5, tried a bunch of things but can’t get it to work. but enjoying the solo play with mods!

@@JasonDunnaJason one comment on that, for people that installed the loading screen mod (which was quickly removed from the mod manager) if they find themselves hanging at 0% when trying to join a multiplayer game, they may need to completely uninstall bg3 from their console and reinstall it fresh. This happened to me, and that fixed the issue.

Are there any mods that can alter companion affinity? Because i hear a certain companion will stay around for a evil MC if their affinity is high enough but i don't want to bother with it if i have to do it legit. Too much of a pain.
