  • It is more than just food and drinks, it is a symbol of respecting and loving a stranger in your home. Nothing taste better than a chai shared with a local.

I met the chai wala guy in the beginning of video, he is so humble, sweet and hospitable. Actually 6 month back I travelled to Karachi by road from Islamabad and reached there at 4:30am. I was standing there at the bus stop and there were so many rikshaw and bike walas offering me a ride with discounted price (which is unusual). This chai wala guy watching me from his hotel and waved his hand at me ..asking me to come over. He said to me its too dark to travel at this time of the day and you are not a local so better have a cup of chai until HE will arrange a ride for me. Which I agreed and after the chai and brrakfast he arranged a ride for me with discounted fare.

Apart from handshakes we also love giving hugs. So if you meet someone as they put out your hand give them a hug. Its a much closer form of greeting and people love thay

Another great video Max. You were in a very blue collar type area yet you seemed so comfortable. There are many upscale areas in Karachi as well. Hopefully you make it to Islamabad, it is a very clean, green beautiful city. Greetings from Las Vegas.
