  • We are getting ready to harvest our organic soybeans. This is not as straightforward as is sometimes thought. We have to clean out as much of the weed seeds as possible and we show you how we go about doing that.

Truly enjoy watching, learning the overall functions which are required for your farm, especially for being an organic farm.

Thankyou, yes, organic farming is not the easy way, but I think it isa good way. It takes constant learning. Some people do it very successfully.

Hi, I hope you are still interested in making videos! I would really love to see your Water system in more detail, I would like to try it on my property. The system itself, how you setup and take down each year, and any cons or precautions that should be known. Many Thanks!!

It's a waterline from my barn hooked up to a float valve on a tote. In the late fall, disconnect the hoses to get the water pressure off so they don't get ruined by the freezing temperatures...

Is that electric fencing? We want to try rotational grazing but haven't bought the fencing yet... 🤔

I don't think it would hurt the sheep. Not sure about goats but probably not a problem.

I wonder if those weed seeds have any feed value?

Most are from foxtail, and I don't think they have much value. The biggest problem with them though is that they have a high moisture content and can affect the beans when in storage, causing heat and spoilage. Also, those buying them from me will charge me dockage for them. So we try to get them as clean as possible. I won't be feeding these beans directly to my sheep, but will go to be crushed as soymeal for protein supplement in organic animal production.
