Lily Lu has one of the best philosophies in what they share online. When I see their content I don't even see modifications just like an extreme expression of an artist with intention living their life by their own art. I enjoyed this video 💗😌

Lily Lu is a huge inspiration in being yourself as you choose to be without causing harm to yourself or anyone else they explain how making certain modifications and even tattooing one’s face they make sure you understand your never going to be the same and it’s a major life choice.
Been following Lily since their days skateboarding and LL is a great influence on me for sure, they're a powerhouse of art and mods and machine building. Much love and respect to LL x

I think one of the most craziest things besides the cut fingers is the complete exchanged teeth, they were all changed to black ceramic teeth by a doctor abroad!

Been following lily lu since his first dreadlocks video way at the very beginning of the channel. The videos are absolutely beautiful works of art and leave you feeling very inspired. I recommend watching from the beginning because they give you context for the whole philosophy. I can only describe lily lu as a person who turned their entire life into a work of art and I'm so glad it was shared with us.

I have just discovered Lily Lu 2 weeks ago. And I have learned so much from Lily lu about so many things, life in general, and Lily Lu's wife, anusskatz, is inspirational to me bc I'm also in adult industry. I already want to go to psyland 25 and get tattooed by Lily. Because I have some tattoos I'd like to get tattoos covered. These tattoos mean something to me, but like Lily says, they're still there, even when covered. They are part of you for life.
That’s actually something I always say too, I think anyone who’s had many layers probably thinks that way. Lily lu is definitely a very inspirational human

I’m glad you commented about counting body suits, Remy. I have never understood that. It’s way too subjective to consider what constitutes a new/finished/updated/etc. suit and, IMHO, should never be a reason why anyone would do that to themselves (“I have the mostest body suits evah…yay!”). To me, watching people like you is like watching a perpetual art piece. I have no problem with anyone that has a completely finished idea they wish to achieve but, so far, I find *most* tend to be a never-ending process that generally conveys a lot of meaning which makes them so incredibly interesting to study and admire!
Btw, thanks for showcasing Lily Lu on your channel! I learned a few things I didn’t know and find Lily incredibly fascinating! Keep up the great work, Remy, you’re on a roll! 👍🙏😀

Every tattoo connects to and impacts the body, soul, and spirit of the person. We are all canvases, whether natural or modified, because life writes on us, in us, and through us. Some choose to overtly engrave themselves, while others just let it happen naturally (such as myself). Admittedly, I am to the other extreme, next to zero body modifications, except for temporary hair color and a few repaired teeth. I did not want any human to write on me, and have rejected all cultural standards almost entirely. I am more like a solitary tree, hidden away from the cutters, inscribed by the elements and Creator alone. But that said, I see the depth of other people’s choices, and try to accurately read the messages they are endeavoring to convey. I see you doing the same, and so I find your perspectives interesting (and also like you as a person). Tattoos are spiritual, in that they connect to specific spirits and channels of ancient spirituality, albeit, very different from my own, as i attempt to connect with absolute light.
That’s a very beautiful way to think of it my friend, thanks for sharing.

Was waiting for this react :-) He's very into rituals things so I think when he cuts his fingers was more related to a ritual thing rather than showing he's the more extrem. That my point of view not sure if we will really know one day.

Hey remy been watching your channel for a while I'm covered in a lot of traditional style tattoos that's how I express my self I first some thing amazingly different in a tattoo shop the cat guy was getting work done I thought that was insanely different and unique and I started following that kind of stuff in the mags pre internet a few years back I saw some videos on brutal black outs I think it's unique and cool but not for me but I thank you for putting this content out I find it interesting I enjoy trying to understand why people do it

I got my first tattoo in the early 90s and the artist had a body mod book. That book had a man with a penis cut in half, fully functional and was connected with a piercing. I mean amputation isn’t new if that existed then. The book was produced earlier that my discovery of it.

I had the full undersides, heavy black, of all the undersides of my fingers tattooed a couple weeks after I did my own first face tattoo on myself and a week after getting my first large face tattoo. For me there is no endpoint but huge parts of me are blank. I am committed to my craft and committed to separating myself from society: I actively refuse to be a part of it and it’s not just about tattooing in my lifestyle. I’m the child of hippies and I hate shoes but there is so so much more.
Very much feels like a modern cult groom with the energy that's underlying in most of their videos. Feels the the mods have become the mortar to get others onboard with their web of influence.

I'm from South Africa and certain tribes remove their pinky finger as a ritual till today. My math teacher had only 9 fingers.

Finger removal is part of ancient pagan tradition. I'm probably wrong but it may have something to do with marriage.
Obviously the Japanese Yakuza do something similar as discipline.
About the finger removal, Lily Lu never explained it, but all they talk is about the experience of body mods, and a little about being on the edge of society. I guess it's something about sacrifice and getting through some shit for them

What I find interesting about lily lu is his semi Buddhist philosophy.....my hunch is he saw, living without a finger, as a "challenge" of sorts. A ritual to be experienced...I agree that Psyland is a context, that holds the group together and is a bit cult like.

Lily lu said himself in a video he’s had 2.5 body suits and is stopping at 3. Once his Thailand white style is finished… but I’m sure he may had a little more over his life. Still impressive!
It’s impressive for sure, but you wouldn’t believe the amount of people I’ve had tell me “lily lu has had 5 body suits!” It’s pretty silly haha, that being said as I said in the video I don’t look at these things in a linear sense anymore, some parts of me are up to 20 times over, it’s just a constant evolution

That’s all about the tone of your skin, and the type of ink used, I don’t know how you haven’t seen yet but I’ve been doing a new layer over the old black already with a different black and white ink to create new images. Also, no blackout is actually “black” after it’s healed. Contrast is what makes ink look darker

The work doesn’t need to ever end, I’ve had a full body suit multiple times over and continuing weekly usually twice a week to the day, haha

Lily Liu was the first for his finger and is amazing person and artist
So im guessing the finger removal is literally just for shock value. Reason being is that the particular finger taken off permanently leaves them making the shocker symbol. Its probably not it but makes the most sense to me as they already know the shock value they put into the world and cutting those 2 fingers off kinda fits the bill. I just cant think hoow this would ever have some sort of deep meaning like theyre claiming but people do weirder stuff.

i lost my left leg knee down at 12 bc of an accident and im not gonna lie i would do alot to get it back but am i offended people are taking limbs off by choice?
