Sex robots could absolutely provide a service down the road and have a place in society. Sometimes finding a partner who's willing to indulge in various fantasies can be difficult; sometimes someone in a relationship might be unwilling to even broach the topic with their significant other for fear of dismissal or embarrassment. The more realistic might even be beneficial for people with deviant sexual desires which might be illegal to perform on a human. I would much rather someone play out a rape fantasy with a machine than with a human any day. Some people like using food too but your partner might have an allergy to that type of food. Sex sells and if there is a way to make a profit, great, do it. Since prostitution is already illegal in most of the USA, having a sex doll might circumvent those laws, allowing people to relieve some stress and make the world a more endorphin fueled community.
