I consume so much Kpop TikTok! I'm like a information sponge! I was so annoyed I forgot some the names I immediately came off recording and googled them. I know now, I am wise!

Saw them live last year in Chicago. Best concert I’ve ever been to. They are the most fun group ever. They are very serious about being unserious but slaying their performances and having the best time with carats. I thought it would be really hard for me to remember them at first and I was hesitant to get into a group with 13 members but then I couldn’t stop myself because their music is too good. Learned about them more by watching their variety show, Going Seventeen, the best idol variety show. They know how to have fun and entertain. They have become my absolute favorite group.

Seventeen is one of the Kpop industry's very first self-produced idol groups, this means that the members of Seventeen are the ones that create everything themselves, with help and advice from Pledis Entertainment's choreographers, songwriters and rap producers when needed. But the majority of everything you see and hear is created by the members and the professionals are only consulted or asked to assist to bounce ideas off of and to finetune things, etc.
When they debuted Pledis Entertainment was a really small company that had almost no money, and Seventeen had to learn how to make do with what they had a lot of the times. That's one of the reasons why Seventeen became a self-produced group, because it saved the company money if they didn't have to pay songwriters, producers, choreographers, etc. to come up with everything for them, and it just so happened that they had some really talented members who were excellent at songwriting, choreographing, and producing, etc. Seventeen was instrumental in Pledis' success. Similar to how BigBang pretty much made YG Entertainment what it is today, Seventeen was the group that played a large part in preventing Pledis from going bankrupt.
The songs in order of performance in their Killing Voice are: "Adore U," "MANSAE," "Pretty U," "Oh My!" "A-TEEN" "Snap Shoot," "Run to You," "Don't Wanna Cry," "Home," "Our Dawn is Hotter than Day," "Darl+ing," "CLAP," "Left & Right," "HOT," and "Very Nice."
Mansae doesn't really have a clear meaning, it's more of a cheer that you say in Korean when you are happy, similar to "hooray" in English.
One of the reasons they chose "Very Nice" as their encore song is because it is one of their most popular songs, and it is what has really made them famous. You can hear TV shows and commercials all over the place in Korea using this song. And on top of all that it was wrote, composed and choreographed in part by them, so they are all reaping the rewards. :D
For example, the majority of the songs you just heard were written by Woozi, who, as mentioned, is the leader of the vocal unit, with the help of the rest of the vocal unit -- Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, and Seungkwan. Hoshi, who is the leader of the performance unit (dancers), most often creates the group's choreography along with input from the other members of the performance unit -- The8, Jun and Dino. And S.Coups, who is the leader of Seventeen and the leader of the hip-hop unit, usually writes the rap sections with help from the other members of the hip-hop unit -- Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon. They are so hands-on with everything they do that some of the members have even directed, produced and edited a few of their MVs.
Seventeen's name comes from the fact that they have 13 members + 3 sub-units (Vocal unit, performance unit and hip-hop unit) + they come together as 1 group = 17. Their fandom name is Carats -- like Seventeen carat diamonds. 💍 And their symbol is a diamond.
To find 13 young men, who really didn't know each other before becoming a group, that are so multi-talented is impressive. And the fact that they are constantly able to come up with hit after hit and maintain one of the top spots in the industry all on their own, makes them even more mind blowing.
Something you should also be aware of is that Seventeen are known for their choreography and their dance practice videos, so if you ever watch their MVs, I recommend you combine your reaction with their dance practice videos. They are nicknamed "The Theatre Kids of Kpop," because they are so good at telling a story through their dance. Therefore, in order to really see what makes them extra special, you need to see their dance practice videos.

I was afraid to get into a group of 13 but learning members by the sub groups (hip-hop, performance and vocal) is easier. Also, watching Going Seventeen really helps cause you get to know personalities. There is THE guide that has 4 parts, intro and one for each sub group that is the best but each video is over 30 min.

Seventeen they really come to top like today from step to step one of only kpop who became popular from step to step. From little companies and having less then 20 audience for their first performance to now being world top. Being criticized and having to lots of unfair as they came from small company. Even though they are such incredible since debute. Being one of most praised groups from seniors groups.

Saw them live in Dec23 in Bangkok and omg their Concerts are amazinggggggg! Its was the first concert I ever saw and I am so glad it was them. I flew into Thailand to see this and wow it was amazing and such an amazing setlist. Sadly it was just 11 of them as 2 of them were injured. I hope to see ot13 one day~

The title tracks are amazing but their bread and butter are their B-sides. Soooo good. I highly recommend watching the first part of the first episode of Game Caterers - all the members are introduced, you get a few pieces of information about them and a glimpse of their personality... of course, the risk is that you won't be able to stop watching and you'll just have to watch every episode.

Seventeen are the Synchronization Kings of K-pop, they are also known as the Theater Kids of K-pop. Their dance practices are a must watch, so I suggest the dance practice of "Pretty U" watch the "LOVE ver" this was one of the songs you called funky.
i really enjoyed your reaction! i hope you do more seventeen! as for the quickest way to get to know all the members, i think personally the 4-part guide by caratline17 is the best way to do it. it has a 15-minute intro to the group and hour-long videos dedicated to each subunit. but of course its up to you! you could also check out their variety content, specifically Going Seventeen, to get to know their personalities a bit more. looking forward to seeing more svt on your channel. they're definitely worth diving deep into

Even so you already know a lot I think you would be delighted by doing the fandoms favorite guide. THE SUPER LONG GUIDE TO SEVENTEEN! It's getting updated every year and the last unit just got their update so now would be the perfect time to react to it! They have an intro and then #1 Hip Hop Unit, #2 Performance Unit and #3 Vocal Unit.
They are btw selfproducing idols (with Woozi +Bumzu as their main producer) and that also doesn't stop at the prduction, but they all write lyrics, Vernon also produces and composes some songs and most importantly Hoshi and Dino choreograph a lot of their songs (again together with their choreographer). And even then it doesn' stop as esspecially in the early days Seungkwan seemed to be the driving force in promoting seventeen by spreading the word in all kinds of different shows that he was casted on about their group (as most shows weren't equipt to invite 13 people a once).
With their Lable almost going bankrupt they really are with all meaning of the word selfmade.
To end this they are called the syncronisation kings or theater kids of kpop haha so depending on what you want as a song recommendation, also I don't know what that word you used means, I would say maybe listen to Getting Closer, Call Call Call (japanese comeback) and Super (Sonogong).
For vocals refere to Habit (live rearranged version) and To You (live).
For the Hip Hop Unit: Fire and the recent song Monster (Helloween themed)
And for Performance Unit: Lilili Yabbay and Highlight.

1:33 Off by an overcount … theres only 13 members, the shortest one is #WOOZI who is vocal line leader, #HOSHI / Tiger is dance line leader and #SCOUPS is the oldest /overall group leader as well as rapline leader. #Seventeen is member group that debuted in 2015 under Pledis Entertainment which became independent sub label of HYBE a few years ago.
