  • I am sharing my experience with this amazing product in hopes we can strike up a discussion here. I'm not by no means an expert on any of these things but my passion for making videos and learning the history behind these products are definitely something I want to share with you.
    Take what you need and leave the rest! I'm sure there are some that would pull the trigger on being an asshole and if you are one of those, be ready for a comeback.
    For those of you who love this stuff and this channel, LOVE YOU, and many thanks!

    Well done, Chris. That first soak brings out the starch. They will be very crispy on first wear, but should soften up nicely with the subsequent wears. I agree with you to wear them diligently on your trip to Maine. Rock that Heritage, Brother!

    Great journey man. Love following your love for heavy duty workwear and mechanics. Here's hoping you'll document your outfits on the trip, as well as your impressions of breaking in these jeans.

    Had a pair of these and I'm going to talk about one negative that no one seems to mention. The buttoned flies are almost impossible to either button up or button off. A couple of times I got quite desperate trying to unbutton the flies while in the bathroom. Believe me, it was quite a challenge while trying to unbutton in a hurry.

    I always turn my jeans inside out before washing them, but they still fade bad quickly. Like you, I wear them multiple times between washes.

    Love your channel for the bronco content, Was not sure what heritage style was or what it meant (maybe because im canadian) im not sure, had never heard of that. and yet here I am looking for jeans based on you're videos and recommendations, never even thought twice about that sort of thing before to be honest. I always come back to your builds impressed with what you are able to do outdoors in ur driveway and sort of building trucks with donor vehicle parts is something I appreciate. be sure to check my build out on my channel, she should be driving in a couple weeks time.

    These are the one-wash version aren’t they? Or are they the raw , i.e. unsanforized version?
    One week without washing seems to be very short time. I usually wash these kind of jeans once a year. I don’t wear them every day, however.

    • @StylishGreaseMonkey
      @StylishGreaseMonkey  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This was my initial wash to mainly get the starch off of it. I'm like you, I only wash my selvedge jeans when it is really dirty or once a year.

    About to get my first pair of Iron Hearts. I see you got the 25oz and 21oz. I was wondering which one would you prefer and why to help with my judgement. Thanks in advance.

      I’m at the early stages of breaking in the 25 oz. 777. The IH 666 21 oz was lovely and slightly better in my opinion. Both are low rise but I feel that the 777 has lower pockets. It’s hard to tell which one I would prefer at this stage but I purchased the 666s first.

    Where do you find these jeans to try on???). I’m kind of a weird fit in jeans 33/29 and hard to find good fit. I would hate to buy online and it not fit well

    • @StylishGreaseMonkey
      @StylishGreaseMonkey  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately I started with trial and error also. I measured my favorite fitting jeans (well used) and used that to compare to the sizes IH provided on their website. I’m supposed to be a 33 with IH but I order the size 34 anyway because these things are tight during the breaking in.

    I only wear my Ironheart 21oz in the winter. I started washing them in the bath but got fed up of that. Now they go in the washing machine on the Woollens setting. Does the same thin as the bath. Low temp of course, inside outside and no bleach in the soap. After 3 years they’re still dark.

    • @StylishGreaseMonkey
      @StylishGreaseMonkey  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t for mine. I think I wore it at least 5 times before a soak/wash. I actually screwed that soak up with hot water and destroyed the leather patch.

    • @StylishGreaseMonkey
      @StylishGreaseMonkey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a low waisted design. I thought it was weird too at first. It’s not much any different than how I wear the 501 jeans though which is a mid rise. I kind of like it, like I’m a young punk haha! 😂

    • @couchsofa2977
      @couchsofa2977 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StylishGreaseMonkey beside the fact it looks weird, more importantly these pockets become unusable for things i would put into my pockets. don't get me wrong i love japanese denim, but i question the usefullness. also, i love my 22ounce, but i wear them in 10degrees(centigrade) or less.

    Well, the pants or iron heart items are good, but they're not worth it. The prices are just too high outside of Japan
    The pants cost about 215 US dollars in Japan. Flannel shirts cost about 180€.
    Import customs and middlemen are milking us customers. We customers are the stupid ones.
